I want to post angst headcanons for Cars & Planes. Did anyone ask for them, nope! Everyone, get ya tissues! We're going on a ride!

Doc never had a home. He lived on the streets and in motels until he got famous, racing for peanuts in the late 40s. He got extremely lucky, then '54 happened and, well...we all know. His life was one string of bad luck.

Flo had a serious rupture with her family when she married Ramone. See, in my human AU, Flo is Caucasian while Ramone is mixed Latino and black. And given this was the 50s, interracial marriage was a big societal no-no, ESPECIALLY when you were someone in the public eye like Flo was. The whole reason they moved to Radiator Springs was to avoid the discrimination. She's never recovered from separating from her family. Not completely.

The year before he quit working in New York, Sheriff lost his partner in a shoot-out during a drug bust. He's never forgiven himself for it.

You guys already know my Lightning angsty headcanons, his awful dad, his abusive relationship with Marcus, etc. But I have two icings on the cake: first, Lightning had a half-brother, Ian, who was about 4 years older than him. Ian was a petty criminal who stole to help him and his little brother survive, since their dad spent what little he got on unemployment checks on beer and pizza. Ian died when Lightning was starting middle school; lung cancer from smoking. To this day, Lightning is an anti-smoker and vaper and spends a good chunk of his winnings on charities to help addicts.

What's the other icing? Well, remember when I said I believe Lightning and Sally are a happily married couple with no kids? Yeah, that no kids thing isn't for lack of trying. In between movies one and two, Sally actually got pregnant with what would've been their daughter, but she had a violent miscarriage. The treatment saved her life, but left her unable to ever have kids. Cruz filled that void a little bit, but nothing like what a real kid would've been like.

Y'know why Francesco's so attached to his mama? Well, cause she's the only reason he's alive. And not just cause she gave birth to him; Francesco's dad was a sexist asshole who wanted Mama Bernoulli (I headcanon her name is Valentina, so Imma just call her Mama Valentina) to be his perfect little housewife and abused their baby son, thankfully before he was able to remember anything. And she said, FUCK THAT SHIT, I'm going to go wreck it on the race track! To this day, Francesco wishes he could be both as skilled on the track and as brave in real life as his mama.

5 Cars Couples' And Their Love Languages

Sarge & Fillmore : Physical Touch. They're constantly in proximity of each other and always searching secretly for each other's hand to hold. Have you seen these guys snuggle next to each other in the movies tho like- 😭

Doc & Sheriff : Acts Of Service. They definitely do a lot of favors for each other. Whether thats keeping each other on their toes by chasing each other around the desert in a high speed pursuit, or by being a silent drinking buddy so their not drinking alone. It's those moments of them taking time out of their days to help each other out when they least expect it.

Lynda & Strip : Quality Time. With the both of them being so busy, any bit of time spent together is time they cherish because they know they're doing it together.

Bob & Darrell : Word Of Affirmation. They constantly compliment each other while their working, big or small. They also aren't afraid to praise each other out in public either, which many have noticed.

Mater & Holley : Gifts. Mater loves gifting Holley small meaningful presents like a small bouquet of flowers, a necklace that reminded him of her, etc. Holley also travels and loves sending him small trinkets she thinks he would like. (Mater puts all of the gifts Holley sends him on a special shelf in his small home and it's like- the only thing that's actually organized there)

You know that one scene before they release the lanterns in Tangled where the king and queen are grieving about the fact that their lost kid would be turning 18 that day?

Imagine Sherrif comforting doc when he’s about to release his lantern, reassuring him that his son still may be out there.

The citizens of the kingdom were excited, busy chatting away as they prepared the food, decorations, festivities, and most importantly- the lanterns, for the annual Sundrop Lanturn festival.

Though the festival brought smiles to many, mostly children, it also brought sorrow and great pain to others.

Eighteen years have gone by, and the prince has still not yet been found. There have been cases where they thought they'd found him, only to realize it was a mistaken identity. Vibrant red hair was uncommon in these parts, but as the years went by, as they thought they'd found him but didn't, the people began to lose hope. Some begin to wonder if the story was real in the first place.

The king sighed, watching his citizens from the palace window, a hand gently placed on the glass. He watched as families passed by, parents laughing as their children danced around. He knows it's painful to stare, yet he couldn't help but yearn for the day when he and his son could share a moment like that.

If his son was still out there that is...

The king heard footsteps approach from behind him, and let out a tired sigh. "I know... I know..." He turned to face him, eyes glazed in sorrow and exhaustion. "I'll... Be there, Clint..."

Clint, his royal adviser, huffed as he walked over to him. He frowned, seeing how much the man was hurting. "We're doing our best m'lord... Believe me..." He sighed.

Jesse let out a pained chuckle. "I know... And I'm grateful for all you've done... I just..." He fingers curled into his hands, as he bit down on his lip. "I just... It's been how long and he still hasn't been found... I'm starting to wonder if he will ever be found again..."

Clint placed a hand on his shoulder, gently patting him. "Your Majesty- Lord Jesse..." He said, "Don't give up hope now, my Liege. We can still find him. You do still believe he's out there, right?"

Jesse turned to him, slightly puzzled. "Do you..?"

"If you believe he's still alive, then so do I." Clint placed a thumb on his chest. "And so long as you do, we shall search across all the corners of the globe for the boy." He gave him a small smile, letting go of the king's shoulder.

Jesse sighed, then a little smile found its way onto his lips. He nodded, his eyes ever so slightly lighting up. "Thank you, Clint."

Clint bowed his head, returning the gesture.

Then, there was a knock on the door. Jesse welcomed him in, and in came a man in uniform. "Your majesty," he bowed. "It's time."

"Thank you, Jackson." Jesse said.

They all left the room, headed over to the balcony. There sat a lone lantern with the symbol of the sun on it.

Jesse carefully picked it up, holding the delicate lantern in his hands.

'Son... Wherever you are... Please know that, we won't stop searching for you until we know that you're safe and sound...'

He slowly lifted it up into the air, letting the winds take it airborne. The people of the kingdom followed suit, releasing their own lanterns into the air.

'Come home to us... Prince Monty...'

Anon they make me genuinely insane like beyond all belief like its actually unhealthy how much i love them. law-n-order is my favourite cars ship by a long mile and having their crazy son mcqueen that they love and protect is so fucking precious i want to gnaw on concrete

theres something really special about how it plays into but subverts traditional family structure as well. Here are two people in a relationship and they love each other. But they also know something is missing (here, Doc is holding his secrets at bay. His unaddressed trauma from the racing industry makes him trigger without realising it, can cause further issues as well. Mark has to work around this because Hud refuses to talk about it)

Behold! Lightning McQueen! A fully grown but deeply underdeveloped adult racecar. Who is capable of destroying the entire town in about 20 seconds. They know this because he fucking did.

Mark loves Lightning first, I think. He spends his days with the boy, he sees his determination and his earnestness concealed with cruel words. He watches Lightning throw himself into a corner over and over for six hours. He sees something in Lightning that is worth nurturing and by god does he want to help that seed of goodness grow.

Hud loves Lightning but he holds off until he can't anymore. He ignores the boy, even after Lightning drags his painful past like a poisoned wound, until he sends Lightning away and realises the affection he'd felt was not some misguided wish for the racing world - he loved Lightning because it was Lightning. Same as the rest of the town does. There is something in him more than racing and Hud wants to find it.

And there you go... Lightning heals the hole in Hud's heart and in doing so he completes the little family. Mark finally gets the missing piece to the puzzle and he can love Hud wholeheartedly. Hud no longer has to hide and gets the help he needs (whether he asked for it or not). Lightning has more to life than just racing.

Wild Kratts: The Danger Of Love - THE END (2/2)

My girls… We've reached the end 😭💕 And I think I'm going to cry. It's been quite an experience sharing this story with you all. The ups and downs have been quite a journey, but what a beautiful one. I'm so happy to know that this story helped other aroace feel represented and accept themselves. It even helped me. I will never stop thanking you for the support you've given this story with your likes, comments, and reblogs. I'd love to give you all a hug, but scientists are more interested in making screens than allowing virtual hugs, so we'll have to wait a little longer. With nothing more to say, I'll say goodbye....

Oh and as a small detail: Gaston's yellow suit is inspired by the suits worn by real sailors to be easily visible if they fall into the water....And yes, this finally was totally a Wicked reference.
