        She’d heard of Four, of course. She’d heard of the comforting oceans and sea foam; a color that she could only imagine matching the girls soft green eyes.   “As you should be, I’m sure. With luck, you’ll be returning to a Four with our brand new victor even.”

And with that, Annie fakes a smile and gives a nod of her head as she softly shrugs, trying not to imagine the number of innocent people who will get killed. “Maybe..it was nice speaking to you, I’m sorry, I don’t think I ever caught your name?”

Blend in as a Peacekeeper was all he had to do. Just like he had been doing for the past three months in preparation for everything that was going to happen. The tributes were all arriving to the Training Center and he had to his ‘job’ and make sure they go where they needed to be. Not just them, but everyone else as well. “You can’t go in there.” He said stepping in front of a metal door.

Annie frowned as she looked up at the guy. “It’s the door to the stairwell, I don’t really like the Elevator and I’m a Mentor, I have to go back up to get my tributes some Sponsors.”

“Oh, thank goodness, it would suck if you were a tribute,” he says, grinning at her.

“Why would it suck if I was a tribute?” She turned her head in confusion.

“I dunno… they look a little nervous to me.”

“I’m not surprised that they would be..we all know what the Games really are.” Annie mumbles as she looks up at the girl. “Katniss, right? I’m Annie Cresta, it’s nice to meet you.”

          Remaining in her act, she choose to ignore Annie’s correction. Simply raising a hand to wave her off. “I like a winner. District Two’s always been a little hostile for my tastes but One two over-the-top. District Four is a good blend.”

Annie was about to say something that was more harsh towards the Capitol but she knew better not to say anything as she cleared her throat and gave a small shrug. “I don’t think there are many who really act like they would be in One when it comes to Four, we’re pretty content I think.”

“I’m Killian Myers, nice to meet you,” he says, extending his hand to her, “You’re not a tribute, are you?”

“It’s nice to meet you too Killian.” She takes his hand and shakes it. “No, I’m the Mentor from Four.”

“You don’t have to call them a name directly, it can be implied like I said before. Whatever, it’s not an important conversation.”

“Well if you thought that I implied that, then I’m sorry. I didn’t purposely mean to.”

           She continued to study the girls features, her mannerisms. She couldn’t imagine the guilt that would accompany the job of a mentor.  “There can only be one winner, no reason to blame yourself. Though, Four has always been one of my favorites.”

Annie turned her head and chewed on her lip nervously. “One survivor.” She corrected her and shook her head. “Once you’re in the Games and then have to prepare kids to die, it changes things. Why is it one of your favourites?”

“No, you didn’t. But it felt like you almost did.”

“Ironically enough, I actually don’t like to call other people names.”

“It just is what it is,” he says, smiling at the lady, “No point in being upset over things that you can’t change.” Killian brushes hair from his face, rocking on the balls of his feet slightly, “What’s your name?” he asks suddenly, grinning at her.

“You’re right, but I can’t really help it.” She shrugs but a warm smile appears on her lips when the little boy grins at her. “I’m Annie Cresta.”

“Pity, you look like you could use a drink or three.” He said off-handily, noticing the small nervous tick when the mentor he approached bit her lip. “Maybe, but then I wouldn’t be able to converse with you. I’ve heard quite about you.” August paused, before extending his hand, “Name’s Dimitri, Dimitri Mikaelson.”

“I don’t drink so I’m good, thanks.” She shrugged and looked down. “Considering you’ve heard about me, then I’m surprised that you would want to hold a conversation with someone like me.” Annie grabs his hand gently and shakes it. “Annie Cresta, but you already knew that.”

“Yeah, you’re probably right. At least it’s entertainment.”

     “oh, right, you’re here for the fun, just like the rest of us. almost forgot that you got towed along with us for the evening.” he tips a hair at her, grabbing another filled bun from the table. “well, give me some advice, annie cresta, the tribute parade is soon. what should i know?”

“They have a very weird description of the word fun, but okay.” Annie mumbles as she looks up. “Shoulders back, head up, and flash a huge smile as you wave to people, that will get you Sponsors. Being Charming and having a unique personality will get you far.”

She was supposed to be proud, to cheer on her tributes as many of the other mentors had. They hadn’t done terribly, yes the tribute parade could be hit and miss but everything had worked out alright for District 12, well, from what she could tell. Katniss couldn’t really pay attention to much of anything lately. She applauded with the rest of the Twelve team, watching as the chariots reappeared and tributes began to dismount.

Annie walked over as she watched the tributes all appear on the T.V. “They all look..great, don’t you reckon?”
