do you have advice on how to make sigils? do you use the technique of writing down the words and taking the lines from them or something else?
I use a little bit of different techniques. I’m going to tell you how I make them and some good tips I’ve learned. This is going to be a long post.
The first thing I do is writing down an affirmation in present, this is really important, always in present. It works better. After writing down the affirmation, I remove the vowels and duplicated letters. Like this:
Then, what I like to do is add a rune related to my intent. This is not necessary but it’s helpful. You can find some runes and their meanings and correspondences here. For this example I’m going to use Fehu, a rune of success, energy and luck.
I create a nice design using the letters from the affirmation and the rune, something like this:
(I crossed each letter after I used it)
Now it doesn’t look really nice, but here comes your creativity! You can change the shapes and work on it until it feels right. I like to work with curve shapes and flower-like styles more than just straight lines, but this is completely up to you.
You can stop here or you can do a little bit more.
Sometimes I create complementary sigils for my intent. In this case the affirmation was “I am productive”, so I write a couple of complementary affirmations that would work well with the main one. I create sigils for those affirmations too.
Here, for example, some good affirmations could be “I am full of energy” and “I enjoy waking up early” I made a simple sigil for each one, I didn’t use runes this time.
You can mix the main sigil with the complementary ones and have a big main sigil, or you can keep each one and activate them individually.
But, here is more! This tip is really really useful.
Along with our complementary sigils, you can create one about something you already have. Why?
Because it will give a push to our other sigils, it will work as a catalyst for the rest of our sigils (or to our main sigil) to start working. I see it as a domino effect. Each sigil is a piece and our “catalyst sigil” is the first one that falls, making our other ones start moving towards our objective.
I’ve been using this tip for years and it works very well for me! This is not my original idea, but I can’t remember the source, I’ve been reading a lot about sigils and I can’t keep track. I’m going to look for it!
So, for our example, I created a sigil with the affirmation “I am creative”, something that I already am.
Now we have our main sigil and 3 complementary sigils. As I said, you can create a big sigil or just draw them together and activate them. Here are both examples:
Big super powerful sigil:
And that’s it! I hope you find it useful (and sorry for writing such a long answer)
