The LGBT community is a space for people whos sexualities and genders do not fit inot the societal norm. As much as the term safe space has come to be mocked recently, that is what it is meant to be. A while ago the greatest ingroup hate was toward bisexuals and, while there is still way too much biphobia present within the community, recently that hate has shifted to asexuals and aromantics. I dont know the validity of the screen shot, so while i can’t comment on that i can comment on the fact that you have no proof to back it up. That may be a valid screenshot, but where is the proof that there was no mention of including the a prior to that? I dont have ready proof, but apparently neither do you. Also, unless you are asexual, it is not your job to dictate if asexuals are oppressed or discriminated upon. True, we do not have such violent hate crimes as the goy or trans community, but that is in part to the fact that many either dont know about the sexuality or do not believe in it. They in of itself is painful enough; imagine people telling you over and over that how you feel isnt real, that you simply havent found the right person yet. Also, what kind of sentiment is siting that aspecs shouldnt be included in LGBTQA because they havent faced enough discrimination? You may not mean it to sound as if you are calling for more asexuals to face pain, but it almost sounds like it. Oppression and pain are not competitions, and if asexual people seek inclussion and acceptance whdn regular society denies it to them, in what way would it affect you or bother you? You claim to believe asexuals valid and deserving happiness, then allow them the happiness of not facing aphobia within their own space.

Its not exactly discrimination, youre right, as there are no laws in place against any aspect of asexuality, there are not major hate crimes or acts of oppression. All im saying is that, as an asexual, it is notpain-free. A lot of what aspecs face are personal microagressions, people in theyre lives telling them what they feel isnt true, or ingrained fears or worries due to the societal expectation for sex. Either way, it shouldnt really matter because the LGBTQA community is not a private club in which a certain level of pain and oppression is necessary to gain access

I thought you were saying all aces are not part of the LGBT community even if they're gay/bi/trans ect but I read through some posts and understood that it is not what your saying. As a cishet/bi curious ace I totally agree with what your saying. 'We' have the opportunity to prevent hate againsts ourselves so why would we want to become part of a community who are still oppressed when we practically have a get out of jail free card. I

So you're basically saying that straight aces have no place in the LGBTQ+ community but as soon as you identify as anything non heterosexual or cisgender your are part of the community? okay well excuse my language but this is fucking stupid. Many asexuals identify as homo/bi/pan romantic and therefore are in relationships with people of the same sex. This means that they are part of the lgbtqiA community. Also aces can also be trans/non-binary which puts them under the umbrella of lgbt+ I’ve seen many forms of discrimination towards asexual people. I’ve found so much comfort in the community and without it I wouldn’t have discovered the term that made me feel valid and not broken. we have a right to identify with the LGBT community so please, keep your somewhat hurtful and ignorant opinion to yourself . thank you😘
