god god god when stede is back on the ship and everything is ok again, imagine that ed wants to keep his face clean shaven and stede, ever-loving stede who will teach ed the finest ways of anything, gently takes his face in one hand and a razor in the other and gives him a proper and intimate shave. and it’s the first time someone has ever held a blade to ed’s throat with love, something he didn’t even know was possible. but of course it’s possible. it’s stede.

can’t get enough of stede after the first taste, but doesn’t know how to ask for affection so just follows him around the ship with longing eyes, always trying to impress him, hopeful of earning a kiss

ed melting the first time stede rests ed’s head on his lap to play with his hair. ed knows that he should be more twitchy about it, that putting himself in a vulnerable position like this is just asking for a knife to the throat but this is stede 

stede has always longed for physical affection, but it always felt so awkward with mary, like they were both just half-heartedly tolerating it. he doesn’t want to push himself on ed and scare him away by being too clingy. the last thing a cool, successful guy like ed wants is his boyfriend just hanging all over him, stede tells himself

basically even after they become an item stede and ed can’t be in the same room without constantly throwing desperate, longing glances at each other and everyone is suffering for it but especially izzy
