Watched the Gameoverse pilot it’s pretty good. Little bogged down by having to explain the fairly complicated concept, but it is a fun inversion of what you would expect from it. This does mean that the characters feel a little flat. But all the jokes landed pretty well. it does a really good job of doing its own thing while channeling the vibes of video games and not just a bit and 16 bit ones. I enjoy the fact of both the heroes and villains are such a menagerie of character designs given the premise of the series. I’m curious to see where it goes. That being said, I didn’t really grab. I’m not chomping at the bit to see more. The show is still needs to find its footing. Seeing a dedication to Monty Oum, as a RWBY fan, makes me happy. Glad his work continues to inspire people to create.
Just read the 1st vol of path of the lightsaber and it Rips. Just some good Star Wars presented in a cool way of just some fresh ideas and set in the sequel era which feels novel nowadays, the art is charming and has some great dynamism. please let this continue and soon.
Like they are eldritch force stuff in this love they imply Eldridge force things
This is mostly me being pedantic, I’m fine with like race and gender changing characters in different continuities and Media but like don’t take away their big visual identifiers like Jimmy Olsen and Mary Jane Watson gonna have red hair, Deathshot and Tony Stark have mustaches, and there are others that I can’t think of right now. Image if Optimus prime wasn’t red and blue or like they took the ears off of Batman’s cowl that would be weird right
Happy Easter ya nerds
Saw Mario Galaxy movie with my niece it was alright. A fun but flawed movie lessons were learned from the first one and I appreciate that it had no random needle drop songs. But narratively is definitely weak a very sort of “and then” plot. but visually one of the best movies Illumination is made.
This is the movie equivalent of a really fun fireworks display. I can understand why people may not like that and maybe you wanted a little more story in there, but I can’t deny that I’m a guy who sees Fox McCloud in a movie or hears the Luma theme and gets excited.
Also, is that new lore between Peach and Rosalina like canon canon?
So I was watching the Dark Crystal and the design of the Mystics reminds me of the Nu mou in Final Fantasy, that can’t just be a coincidence right?
Mechanic Fox? Wolf
These two are an old rich expat white couple that moved to a beautiful tropical area and the locals dislike them, but they all tolerate them because they have money
Been reading IDW Sonic and just finish the Tangle & Whisper trade. It’s funny to me because the first part is short stories that are just fluff pieces about characters doing fluff stuff and the back half is Tangle and Whisper confront a ghost from Whisper’s past who is responsible for her deep seated trama
There was a set of time in the last ten years where there was a high likelihood that Rhys Darby would have voice Wreck-gar in a Transformers series…by fate never lined that up
I find it weird that in sonic Cannon we just all decided that Vector, Charmy, and Espio are the Chaotix like that’s the name of their group and that they’re private investigators/kind of mercenaries. We just that Vector the headphone wearing crocodile has a mental image of himself as a noir detective and hangs with a ninja pus whatever Charmy is as some sort weird Lupin gang. Which I guess if you think of that makes it kinda work but is still a weird characterization choice they landed
Generally excited and curious to see what Oda is cooking up for Brook to do with this arc
Brook is the Strawhat We probably know the least about which is kind of crazy we know more about Jimbei’s past and I think we know about Brooks. Becuase Brook is old and we only heard almost nothing about his time before become a pirate
That’s so now that we’re having immortal* characters that introduced I’m at one of them recognizes Brooke and seems to have had some kind of relationship with him. We got the hints that Gunko may not be a willing vessel for Imu to some extent. Brook can manipulate souls to some exten so I wonder if that could come turn play. super super intriguing stuff, I’m very curious to see how it is paid off.
Shout out to all those fan artists who draw older Shizuka Joestar like she got her own JoJo part.
Checking the list
Decided to rewatch the Dragon Prince and it has been fine but it some weird issues that I can’t quite articulate. I’ve never seen anything past the third season and that was when they first came out. Honestly the show still has some genuine cool ideas but a lot of the humor doesn’t land and god it has too many buddy critters. The thing that keeps me is Claudia’s arc it’s messy but her hard fall into darkness is fairly compelling
For the lord’s sake!! There an episode where they lampshade the development of callum and Rayla’s relationship and I’m pissed cause it is one of the better episodes… in fact the whole 6th season is pretty solid
