Apologies to everyone I was threading with, but I’ve decided to drop all of my muses except for Castiel.

I might return to Demon!Dean eventually, but for the time being thanks to all that RPed with me!

He frowned as he examined the mark, The means to an Ends? It doesn’t sound good. What did Dean get into himself this time? “Don’t worry about it? I think it’s a little too late for that. Just what the heck are you doing with a mark like that? It’s just.. Unnatural.”  as he reached out to touch his forearm.

And the way Dean acted was just getting weirder. As if it didn’t bother him at all. “Are-Are you feeling alright, Dean? You’ve been acting strange all this time. What’s your deal?”

Dean jerks his arm away before Sam can touch him. “You’re getting pretty close to me, Sammy,” he murmurs. “Better watch out.” He doesn’t want to hurt him -- or, no, he does -- he’s a demon. Of course he wants to hurt him. He doesn’t care what happens to Sam. Right?

Right.

“You know what?” he says finally. “I was thinking of all these overcomplicated ways I could tell you, but fuck it. How about I just show you?” He lifts his arms into the air and gives Sam a lackadaisical shrug before blinking once, revealing the blacks of his eyes. He blinks again and it’s gone like it was never there.

Sam frowned as he stepped back, arms falling to his side. This wasn’t going as well as he imagined it would be. He knew Dean wouldn’t be very pleased with him but this? He was acting way off. No welcoming hug or goofy smile. It didn’t felt right.

He was getting an strange vibe from him. It almost felt demonic and sinister but that couldn’t be right. Dean would never be a demon, right? The streetlight and shadows weren’t helping matters either.

He scoffed “Forget about what, Dean? The only thing I don’t remember is the past year and a half or how I was saved from hell. You were practically overjoyed the last time I saw you. I swear if you made a deal, I’ll-” He naturally shut up after the mark on his brother’s forearm. The vibe intensifying. It definitely wasn’t natural. “Dean.” He stated softly “What the hell is that and what did you do?”

Dean cocks his head to the side. Now it makes sense. He knows, vaguely, that the big ol’ nerds in charge of the city are capable of yanking people from all different times and places, but he had never given serious thought to the idea...

So. This Sam is the one that dragged him out of the peaceful life he’d had with Lisa. This Sam is the one who was running around with no fuckin’ soul.

He grits his teeth and sneers. “Oh, this?” He lifts his arm to show off the Mark. “It’s a means to an end. Don’t worry about it.”

It may have taken her a while to find her apartment, but it didn’t take her long at all to figure out the dangerous areas of the city. Hours spent hopping rooftops, cataloging criminal hot spots for her nighttime patrols, it had all been stored away. And now she was using it, scaling the buildings and running across rooftops as she searched for crimes to stop.

She paused at the edge of a roof, glancing down at the alley below. A man was following another… She frowned, eyebrows knitting together as she looked closer. He had a wooden sword. Not a typically weapon, but blunt. It could kill someone all the same. Her jaw clenched, he glanced over his shoulder, and she darted across the roof. She leaped off it and landed in a crouch a few feet from the man.

The attention of the one he’d been tailing was drawn to them and Cass glanced behind her at him. She glared harshly at him till he understood the meaning and ran the other way. Good, at least he was out of the way now. She entered a fighting pose, scowling at the man in front of her as she waited for his move. Whatever he chose to do, she was taking him down.

Dean lifts his chin in mock surprise, his brows rising, when the stranger drops down in front of him. He throws his arms out and laughs as his prey gets away, all scared and probably going home to piss his pants and cry to mama or some shit.

“What’s the matter, lady? Can’t let a guy play a harmless game of tag?”

He grips the handle of the sword a little more tightly. Based on her funny ass garb, she probably thinks she’s some kinda superhero. He steels himself for a fight, though he can’t imagine it’ll last too long. She doesn’t look like much.

He usually avoided the more sketchy side of the city. The slumps weren’t really his style, he belonged in the more nature-y side. With culture and fresh air. Not crime and pollination. He still exactly wasn’t sure what brought him out here. Was it curiosity? He didn’t plan on sticking around for very long. He didn’t plan on being mugged.  

He was planning to turn back until something caught his eye. Could it be? No. It could be- Could it?

It was dim, the streetlight flickering on and off but it was unmistakable. He could recognized that freckled face and dirty shirt anywhere. His throat bobbed with unsaid words and possible sobs. His feet took him across the street before he could stop himself to think. It really was him! It was- Dean. He wanted so badly to embraced him. His brother meant the world to him but those words stop him in his tracks. Giving him an confused look, an bit hurt. “What are you talking about dude? This is the first time in forever that I’ve seen you in months and that’s your greeting?” Seriously? What the hell. Maybe it was a bit much to get his hopes for an joyful reunion. He should’ve known Dean would be pissed at him.

Dean leans back against the wall and gives Sam his most lax expression, even though it’s as far from the truth as fucking possible. His whole body is itching with bloodlust, despite the fact that it hasn’t been too long since his last kill. He turns his head to the side. The flickering light from the lamppost casts shadows on his face, half his head now veiled in black, the other half a tight mask of feigned casualty.

“Wow. Only takes a few months for you to forget all that happened?” He paces to the side. At that moment, the light angles just right onto his forearm, and the Mark of Cain glistens in all its sinister glory. “Gotta be honest, I expected better of you, Sammy.”

He fuckin’ told Sam to stay far away from him, didn’t he? Goddamn kid just never listens.

Dean can see him already, across the street, with a certain look on his face. It’s nighttime and the lamps are flickering in and out, and all Dean can think is - seriously, what the hell is this kid doing in this area? It’s not safe.

Not that he cares. It’s taking all the restraint he’s got to not leap across the road right now and stab Sasquatch in the face. His hands itch at his side and instead he flashes Sam his most charming smile.

“Sammy. Thought I told you to back off, didn’t I?”

Today’s a good day to kill, he thinks, and this city is just filled to the brim with randos that’ll do the trick.

It’s late at night, and he’s in one of the sketchier districts. He’s learned pretty quickly which parts of this city are gonna be his home turf, and which parts he isn’t gonna touch, not even with a mile-long pole.

The wooden sword he has sucks, and is nothing at all like the way the First Blade felt in his hands, but it’ll do the trick. He’s Dean. He could kill someone with his bare hands if he wanted to.

He’s in the middle of tailing a lone NPC down an alleyway, blade at the ready, when he stops and turns his head over his shoulder. He gets the feeling he’s being followed.
