Welcome to Datawave Marine Science (DMS). This site supports an alternative to the state of engineering in the marine world. Modern engineering has evolved to become a business concern. The priorities of business dominate: protection from liability; maximization of profits; and increased revenue. We can not reverse the integration between engineering and business. But improvements are possible, with the reintroduction of scientific principles: quantification of reality; open collaboration; industry advancement; and serving the needs of society. The marine industry can greatly benefit from these principles. DMS exists to further this mission. You will find plenty of materials, tools, and other resources all for free. All related specifically to the marine industry. Please look around.
Every sailor eventually asks, “How do I stop
corrosion?” There is no simple fix for
corrosion, because it isn’t a simple thing.
We need to understand the subtle chemical processes that drive corrosion
. . . and how to stop that chemistry.

You can’t order a ready built towing tank, you need to
specify each of the components, sourcing from dozens of different vendors. Where do you start shopping on that massive
list? What do you even need to buy? Let’s cover all the major equipment in a
towing tank.
Only one week left until the New Orleans Workboat show! DMS will be there at booth 3562. Stop by and tell me what type of ship would you build with an unlimited budget and custom engineering? See you there!
