Day 19: Favorite "Alt" Hermit (5am Pearl)

Not sure if this counts, but I don't really care! Here's 5am Pearl the Rito and Tilly the White Wolfos!

Pearl was traveling through a blizzard and found Tilly as an orphaned pup, and they've been inseparable ever since! Usually Ritos have trouble living in the ice and snow, but somehow Pearl has managed to not only adapt but become an expert hunter and trapper in the snow... whether it be hunting monsters or others who cross their path!

Day 1 of Hermit-A-Day May!

I decided I'm going to draw each hermit in the style of Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker, because I absolutely love the art style! So here's Vintagebeef the Farmer!

Fun fact: Beef was one of the first minecrafters I watched, back during the Mindcrack era! I loved to watch all the Team Canada shenanigans!

I went in without knowing exactly what the play was about and I found myself very engaged. Checkov might be mad, because the gun did not go off, but once I settled in, it stopped bothering me. (Even though it did draw a LOT of focus).

It took some time for me to start understanding the characters. There was a good bit of the playwright speaking through the actors; too much about the performative nature of social media activism and poor-passing rich college students, but once the real topic of the play was dropped: Jane works as a content moderator.

The climax and the conclusion were a bit too fast in my opinion, and of course I hate a play that isn't strong enough to chose a stance for its ending and just forces the audience to make one up for it, but overall Job was very enjoyable, and made me want to come back for seconds!

Really cool world and interesting visuals. Glad that they made choice at the end, rather than leaving it open-ended, but unfortunately I hated the vague message of “intent matters,” especially in a story concerning a topic as specific and fraught as the consequences of the anthropocene.

The actor playing Pilar was charming and believable.
