double checking to see if the funny innocuous textpost that gets suggested to me on tumblr was posted by a terf should be a completely irrational worry, but it happens frequently enough that it keeps justifying my worry. like i’ll get a funny completely normal looking shitpost suggested to me on here and i’ll decide to double check the account before i reblog it and find that they’re a fully radicalized terf that cites kiwifarms.
and to be clear, this isn’t me being like “how dare people reblog posts without always checking the opinions of the person who posted it” because it’s not something that should be a problem of individual users on here and i don’t think it’s fair to expect people to always check an account. i just think that if posts by terfs are frequently recommended to users who aren’t transphobic while trans women’s accounts frequently get banned, there MIGHT be a problem with the site’s moderation.
