Last @fandomtrumpshate book is done! This is Solar Flare, by @heliopauseentertainments. Made as a gift for pretzelbaron's generous donation to the Transgender Education Network of Texas <3

Crafty details! pretzelbaron requested reds/yellows/oranges and a marbled endpaper, and I said "I have JUST the paper in my stash," heh :3 They also described one of the themes of the fic as "dazzling light set against the darkness," which was so evocative I just had to incorporate it into the design of the title page!

Bookcloth is Brillianta in the color black. Title is Siser iron-on HTV. Endbands are double-core French endbands in Trebizond silk thread (I always follow @no-name-publishing's tutorial for these. Thank you Kam I owe you my life). Sun inset is a really gorgeous textured paper I bought in 2021 with members of @renegadeguild <3

This was also my first time trying this style of bradel bind! I really enjoyed it and found it much simpler than the three-piece bradel bind, haha. As always I owe my life to Mr. DAS Bookbinding on YouTube for the wonderful tutorial.

Harry could only stare back at him, chest full of untamed stars and absolutely zero patience for this absurd humility, thinking—yes, you magnificent idiot. Of course, I did. What else was I supposed to do, knit?

Instead of saying that however, Harry just smiled and brushed a lock of hair behind Draco’s ear. “I’d tear it apart again tomorrow if it asked for you back.”

an orphanage au that ripped my heart out.

i decided to try transparent film for the dust jacket bc i wanted a physical representation of harry and draco being separated, despite their promise. i don’t know if i’d use it again bc the ink rubbed off initially. i sealed it with mod podge and hope that will work long term.

i also experimented with different core sizes (2mm vs 3mm) and leaning towards 3mm now.

i don’t think i’m ever going to recover from @blackthornwine stunning artwork. i wanted a grotesque gothic theme and they absolutely nailed the vibe. tysm 🙇‍♀️

my goal this year is to try using book cloth. i am a wrap girly but sometimes it’s the bane of my existence. i tried printing on book cloth this time and pretty happy with how it turned out.

i used hollander’s verona book cloth and didn’t have any issues with the ink smearing or rubbing off.
