Stars Beseech Me [Part 1]
Kirby was enjoying a nice and peaceful walk with the royalty of Patchland, Prince Fluff.
The flowers were in great bloom this season, and the prince had insisted they see them together. Which of course Kirby could never reject!
The flowers were in all sorts of colors! Red, yellow, pink, purple, orange, they could go on forever with these!
Kirby glanced at Fluff, who was possibly doing the same. The astral watched as Fluff smiled at the flowers with a tender expression, he looks so happy. They both eventually met gaze with gaze as they ended up admiring each other as well. Kirby kissed him on the cheek, Fluff giggling in the process as he kissed them on the cheek back, Kirby giggling as well, perhaps even more. Having been together for a while they’ve been getting rather affectionate, which neither minded.
Fluff held the other closely. “The flowers really do compliment you. If these flowers had a quest to look terrible next to you, I’d say they’ve already failed.”
“Aww Fluffy!” Kirby ended up giggling again with a flushed expression. Stars they just felt so happy with Fluff! If they could get the others to save the world without Kirby just so the astral could be with his sweet, fluffy patchlandian he would’ve done it long ago! Though of course he could never leave his friends to fight alone. Popstar was his home and he would never leave it behind!
Kirby felt himself be tugged by the hand into a hug in which they didn’t object, fluffy pink sweater against royal blue attire as Kirby started pecking the side of Fluff’s head as they both basically just looked like the happiest couple in the garden.
..Ok they’re the only couple in the garden but still.
As Fluff laughed and Kirby kissed, the astral froze, confusing the prince. Kirby’s ear and antenna twitched.
…Perhaps they aren’t alone after all.
“WATCH OUT!!”
The prince immediately grabbed Kirby and pulled him close, both toppling over as a sharp looking projectile flew overhead where they once were. Did someone just try to take them out?
Kirby immediately locked in as they stood up, determined to protect his prince at all costs as Fluff stood up with similar thoughts for his sweet fluff ball.
As soon as they knew they were caught a few of hooded figures ran out, each having individual weapons, and most glaring of all, the sigil of Yin Yarn sewn on their backs.
Fluff immediately glared, furious. “You can’t be serious-! You’ve chosen a traitor who usurped the throne, a man who caused more than enough world ending chaos!?” He already pulled out his whip, knowing this wasn’t ending peacefully.
“You’ll never understand his vision!!” One of the cloaked figures spoke. “He saw a kind of beauty of the world that no one else, nor you could have ever seen! And by ending his reign you’ve usurped him, we’ve come to avenge that vision with your down fall!!”
“This is madness!!” Fluff spoke angrily, already stepping into his regal and demanding tone. “You turn your sights to a sorcerer who almost caused inevitable destruction between two separate dimensions!! Patchland would have forever fallen apart and sooner or later you wouldn’t have had a place to call home, not to mention attacking your own future king! Apologize for your atrocities and perhaps I shall make your sentences of heavy treason light!!”
The ruler of Patchland immediately stepped to the side as another sharp object was thrown at him, now seen to be a sharp, pointed needle pinned to the grass. After adding rare material theft to the list, glaring at them with dangerous anger. “So be it..”
Kirby blocked another needle with his own whip, glaring just as bad. No one, absolutely no one gets to throw needles at his Fluffy and say such nonsense afterwards!
The fight began quickly as one of the traitors leapt forward at Kirby, which was a poor decision all on its own as the fluffy sweater wearing astral used their whip to slam him into the flowers, Kirby being way more well trained by all the adventures he’s had.
Fluff wasn’t so different, taking out another charging numbskull by grabbing the ankle with the whip and flipping them over, having been trained to defend himself since he was Patchlands royalty. Their adventure together when they first met helped with that too.
Kirby frowned, glancing at Fluff as they both had a similar thought as they matched eyes. Either they’re really stupid, or there’s something going on. Yin Yarn was defeated a few years ago, if they’re really this rash, wouldn’t they have attacked sooner..? Especially since they seemed to have no preparing whatsoever.
The duo easily took down and unraveled the third idiot, still on edge. Kirby was on high alert to keep Fluff safe, and Fluff was on high alert to keep Kirby safe, though as well as himself since he seemed to be the target.
“. . .”
It was quiet for what felt like so long.
“..sigh….” Fluff heaved a heavy sigh, Kirby was still on edge as they held his hand, the prince squeezing it in turn.
How could anyone hurt their sweet partner? Well, maybe because they loved him dearly Kirby will never truly understand that view of hate, but it most definitely made him upset either way. Fluff is amazing in every way and they tried to take him away..
Kirby hugged him again, tighter than the comfortable hug from before. “Sorry our date got jumped on poyo…”
Fluff hugged back just as tightly, clearly stressed. “…it’s alright.. I’m just glad neither of us got hurt..”
Kirby smiled at him faintly, in which Fluff returned with slight strain. The beautiful flowers at least did their best to salvage the sweet moment from before. Fluff reached down, tenderly picking a yellow flower from the ground, and placed it in their hair.
“Still pretty..” Fluff muttered quietly, watching his lover smiled a bit more and peck his nose.
They continued to hold each other, Prince Fluff finally breaking it. “We should probably head back.. j…just to be safe.” He tried to smile, but Kirby knew he was scared. They frowned with a nod, kissing his cheek.
The lovers began their trek to the castle, still a bit shaken, and also pretty mad that their lovely date was ruined. Kirby sighed quietly, clenching Fluff’s hand like before. Having never let go.
Fluff was meanwhile fuming. He wanted to spend this beautiful day with his adoring, sweet Kirby, but he instead had to deal with worshippers to Yin Yarn? Do they even remember what happened? If it weren’t for Kirby the world of Patchland would be a completely different place today, and he’ll always be thankful for them.
Though, maybe and perhaps today wasn’t the worse day in the world, it could still be salvaged-
“LOOK OUT!!”
Fluff felt himself hit the colorful ground with an ‘oof,’ looking over quickly and ready to fight. If it’s another stinking follower to Yin Yarn he swore he was going to unravel them till they-!
“…”
‘Oh stars Kirby.’
Fluff saw the aftermath of some attack as Kirby choked, something radiating dark energy into their back as the sweet love bug fell to their knees. Fluff crawled to their side immediately, from forgotten in the flowers and grass as he pulled them close. “Kirby-!!”
The prince held his dazed partner close, tears pricking his eyes as he tried his darnedest to not freak out. He did his best, but he could already feel himself shaking as he watched Kirby pant in his arms.
Then they started coughing up something black.
It made Fluff freeze.
“Hey Fluffy…?”
“Yes Kirby?”
“This will sound weird.. but If I… ever get hurt… and start acting weird, like I suddenly start oozing weird, black goopy stuff.. please hide. Y-You can’t let yourself be the first person I see when I’m like that.”
Fluff never really understood why at the time, and was greatly concerned when he first heard about it, but he held Kirby’s hand and promise nonetheless.
“Of course, I’ll make it as if I was never there.”
Kirby smiled.
Looking at Kirby now he definitely recognized the black, oozing liquid that almost seemed alive if he stared at it too long.
The prince acted fast, swift, but of course gentle. He leaned down, kissed his forehead, whispered something sweet, and ran off to hide behind a nearby garden bush.
Should he peek at what’s happening? Was that even a good idea?? No, he had to stay put and keep his promise to Kirby. And he was going to keep it.
The prince cringed when he heard more coughing and gagging, muttering quiet apologies even though they may never reach their ears. And then it went quiet.
“…hehehe…”
Fluff froze. Giggling? Who was…?
“Hh-!!”
Fluff held in a gasp as another follower tried to jump him, already annoyed immensely by these ruffians and pushed them into the open and away from the bush on instinct.
“AGH-“
Watching them fall to the ground, Prince Fluff had to hold his breath in pure shock and terror as almost immediately after they fell, they were violently unraveled before his own eyes by none other than Kirby.

I had this idea where basically since Kirby is capable of so much good, he also very much capable of the opposite if forced/pushed.
me when i need to lock tf in and start selling (or rather, TRY to start selling) shit on marketplace bcuz being paid biweekly sucks doggy water + you're uncreative and useless as FUCK, so you're only capable of making moodboards and stimboards (my diabetic cat's medicine costs quite a lot) (my mom's gonna be getting knee surgery towards the end of this year and thus she'll be off of work for quite some time) (man im pathetic af lol)
does anybody know if the weird notification freeze (ie where it shows i have new notifications, only to see that there isn't and for the number to not go away) will just... go away on its own? or do i have to submit smth to tumblr's support team? it's annoying more than anything, but i was just wondering since this is the 1st time anything like this has happened to me lol

SIGHS.
