☆ﾐ  Mirio will use his upbeat personality to try and help keep you afloat. Whether its constant positive affection or trying his hardest to motivate you, he will pull out his whole arsenal.

☆ﾐ  He deeply admires your determination to help as many of the helpless as you can, and see’s you as a hero just like anyone else in his field, if not more so than others due to your entirely selfless service.

☆ﾐ  Sometimes Mirio will come home from a late shift in the little hours of the morning and find you hunched over a cup of coffee, writing down reports on all your assigned cases. He’ll try and pry you away, try to persuade you to put yourself first just this one night and get a good night’s rest, although most time’s you’ll refuse. If he can’t make you come to bed, he’ll try to pack you a big lunch for the morning and set out your things, maybe even a simple outfit to give you as much extra time to lie in as possible.

☆ﾐ  When you come in from a particularly traumatic shift and just cave in onto yourself with tears streaming down your face, he’ll just hold you, hands caressing your head and mumbling gentle “It’ll be ok.”’s and “You did the right thing.”.

☆ﾐ  He could never try to pull you away from your job, he knows how important the job itself is and how much it means to you, but every time you come back home with burdens of bruised children and visits to the suicide ward his heart breaks for you.

☆ﾐ  At the end of the day Mirio’s pride in what you do is immense, and since he can’t do anything to take away from the inherent horrors of your job, he will do his all to support you, be your wall to lean on and give you as much leeway as possible.

❥  In Keigo’s eyes, you’re the picture of a true hero. Your job stays behind closed doors. You don’t get media praise, a luxurious wage or fame reaching beyond continents. No, you get to see the most vulnerable citizens bloodied and shaking, with maybe a smile at the end of it, if you’re lucky. If he had his way, you’d be top of the hero charts next to him.

❥  While he does have an incredible amount of respect for what you do, seeing the aftermath of it is painful. He’ll try and use jokes to deflect from the dark recesses in your mind filled with images of cruelty, but Hawks is all too aware that humour and nonchalance only goes so far.

❥  When his quick wit doesn’t phase your or tug a smile from you anymore, it’s time to sweep you up and fly you far away from worries and trauma, and clear your head. He’ll carry you to the highest skyscraper he will find, pull out two glasses and a bottle of wine, and stare off into the cityscape while you sob your pent-up furies and injustices out.

I worked in HR, handling applications and interviews, and if someone turned in that string of techno babble nonsense, I would have rejected them out of hand.

A resume doesn’t need to sound fancy or overly technical, it needs to tell us why we should hire you.

“Independent novelist/writer” is more than sufficient here. If you want to express the skills that fan fiction taught you, something like, “creative writing, editing, and publication,” will get you a lot further than… Whatever that just was.

A resume should be tailored to the position, if you can afford the time and energy for that. But if not, then just think about what writing got fandom taught you. How to respond to criticism, how to present a professional pubic face, how to correct punished mistakes, creative thinking, project planning, persuasion via emotional leverage, html formatting, office suite fluency.

There are a lot of actual, marketable skills that go into fan fiction.

Most people never found their string, or the person on the other end.

With mountains and sea’s keeping distance between most of the Earth’s population, getting close enough to the special someone the universe had made just for you was nearly impossible. Only romantic stories told over generations held hope of finding the path at the end of your pinkie.

So, while almost everyone has had their fair share of dreamy fantasies about meeting their soulmate and feeling a knowing tug on their hand, most folks never held their breath.

They got on with their lives, any unrealistic possibilities pushed to the back of their minds like an old wife’s tale.

It certainly wasn’t something you felt you had much time to ponder on between the latest anime release, studying for literature classes and trying to fight for your spot in UA’s prestigious General Education Course.

The only fantasies you had room for were the ones you could jot down, flowing through the glory of your imagination, down into your pen and seeping into the paper.

You had dreams of creativity, and aspirations to follow those dreams into the best colleges in Japan, with UA being your best chance. Any student from UA had better success rates when applying anywhere in the world, the whole academic world would be in your palm.

If you could get in.

Creative writing had been your passion for years, you’d grown up filling pages and pages with figments of chimera, bringing new worlds to life with nothing but ink and sheer determination. And yet, regardless of all the hundreds of amazing pages of work you’d conjured up, your mind was blocked of all ideas for the entrance essay.

Naturally you chose the creative essay option, but with one week left out of 4 months you were beginning to think maybe this was a bad idea, if the lack of a single word was anything to go by. Not even the sheer desperation and fear that was riding on your scholarship could crumble the writer’s block, nor the 3 whole months you’d spent not leaving your room to try and piece something out of your minds haze.

With a few crackles and groans, you unfurled out from your hunched position across your beaten desk and stood.

‘Inspiration. I need sum’ inspiration.’

As you stepped out into a world you’d almost forgotten, sunlight piercing bruise rimmed eyes, you went searching.

The neighbourhood and town were unfamiliar to you, having just moved here a week before your start date for your essay to be closer to your hopefully future school. Not once did you give yourself the chance to go out and explore the new setting you’d settled into.

So off you trekked, past giggling children kicking bright balls of smiles around streets, weeds filling in cracks of concrete, into honks of traffic and the wheezes of coffee machines, past buzzing arcades and shouts of “Did you see my new high score!?”, “Ma! Can I have another go please!”.

It was a homely city; you could feel the comfort and content warmth from the folk around you. Despite the grey blocks towering around you, it felt lived in.

Games, bonds, joy, livelihood, giving colour and life to the inherently lifeless, brutalist slabs they’d found themselves in. You could almost feel the stories and potential teeming from around every bend.

As your feet swept you further into your new setting, enthralling you further into the possibilities behind every crevice, something else tugged you forward.

A glance down and you gave pause, blinking. The knot on your pinkie tightened, giving another small tug forward.

Red roped around your finger into a delicate knot, before faintly leading off further down the street in the distance, floating tenderly in the breeze like a thin strand of silk.

Maybe you’d had too much inspiration, maybe you’d gotten too fanciful and stuck in your head again, maybe you should just turn around and start jotting something down before you went crazy-

Another sharp jolt of your pinkie forced you to lurch forward, businessmen turning to stare at you with quirked eyebrows as you tried to catch yourself in a stumble.

Someone wanted you to keep going.

You were trying to rationalize the situation in your mind even as your feet carried you forward without command, shoes dragging down the lane after the red strand billowing out to a blur far in front of you.

Cautious steps turned to a determined walk, then thudding bursts on the pavement as you rushed and weaved through ally ways, past vendors, spraying yourself with the occasional puddle but paying it no mind as you felt yourself bursting with the possibility of what lay ahead, the ‘what ifs’ and wonder fuelling your relentless march on.

Every turn blinded you, left you breathless.

Until there were no more turns, and the concrete became a scrawling portrait of blue and cotton white.

“I am so sorry! Are you- Wait.”

“Ah,I-I’m so sorry! I should’ve looke- Oh.”

You were both breathless.

Your blue sky had become beads of cerulean, crowned in tufts of sunlight and a smile of pure awe.

Calloused warmth encased the hand and string discard at your side, pulling you closer.

“Are you ok?” His voice was tender and apprehensive, probably still stuck processing what he’d ran into just as you were.

“I’m…” How could you answer? Your eyes were stuck trained on the red string woven around his pinkie, with the tiniest thread connecting the one on your now held hand. “I’m ok.”

You noticed his large chest deflate in relief, letting out breath you hadn’t realised he’d been holding.

“Thank goodness. Would suck if I accidentally gave my soulmate a concussion the rare moment I bump into them!”

The bold use of the word soulmates has you snapping up to meet his stare, one of intensity. “We’re… soulmates.” You couldn’t recall a single word to pluck out of any of the boundless novels of literature you’d wrote that could describe ow breathless you were.  

“I’m Mirio, nice to meet you Ms. Soulmate.”

And suddenly, you found your perfect story had already written itself.

May I request a Mirio x female s/o scenario, where they are going on their first date? She’s very shy and nervous and finds it difficult/embarrassing to express herself, but she’s really playful and affectionate once she warms up to him. She has a southern accent and gets very chatty about things she likes (creative writing, anime). Mirio is the first guy she’s ever been on a date with and the first guy she’s ever liked, so she’s insecure on how to act during a date, what to say, etc.) Thanks!

You weren’t sure how you expected your first date to go, but if memory serves, any scenario of it was absolutely the farthest from your current reality.

As you shuffled on the spot, hands wringing together outside the picturesque café you’d been invited to, you couldn’t help but feel like you were not prepared for this, at all.

Sweat was gathering under your arms, all the conversation starters you’d tried to memorise were, gone.

‘Am I even in his league? What am I doing here!’

There was little time to try and prep though, as your turned to face the muscular blonde that had invited you out in the first place, jogging down the street towards you, palm stretched to the sky in a jolly wave.

“Hey there, glad you could make it!” Mirio’s grin shined as brightly as ever, maybe even more so on account of his non uniformed outfit you weren’t accustomed to seeing. Dark denim jeans hugged his legs deliciously, as did his dark red shirt. “You look stunning by the way! Can’t believe I get such cute arm candy for today.”

“Thank you! Uh, you look really nice as well…”

His flirting wasn’t helping ease your nerves as you struggled to make eye contact with him, although he didn’t seem to take notice as he held the door open for you.

“Ready to head on in?”

You nodded, carefully shuffling across the tiled, beige floor of the café.

A server placed you both in a quaint booth near the back of the café, much to your relief, although being far away from the prying eyes of the other patrons left you as the sole focus of Mirio’s attention.

Thankfully the blonde went straight to burying his head into the menu, plundering every option available.

“Hmm… There’s a lot of good options here. The burgers look good, but so does the sashimi… Ah! I can’t pick’!” Mirio dropped the menu in mock defeat, turning a smile towards you. “What’re you thinking of getting?”

You’d been so invested in the fact that the menu included a limited-edition ramen themed around the new anime you’d been watching, you forgot to realise you would need to order it in front of him. The thought almost put you off eating entirely.

“Uh, I was thinking a’ getting a ramen maybe.”

“Oh, I love ramen! Let me look too.” The young hero leaned up and peaked over your menu to see the ramen you were looking at.

A sudden gasp made you jump, frantically looking to your date for a problem.

“No way! I love that show!”

Your mind blanked, blacking out for a second before you became fully aware of Mirio’s words.

“Yer kinding, really?”

“Yeah!” Mirio beamed enthusiastically. “I catch it every single Thursday, honestly after that last arc I was addicted! I mean I couldn’t stop sobbing when the friend died but still! Seeing him go all crazy with rage and unlocking his new power, I got chills, y’know?!

“Yeah! The fight in episode 12 was amazing too, I loved how raw it was when they were at each other’s throats, and the destruction they caused! It’s always been my go to inspiration for when I write su’em dramatic, it was jus’ so exciting and-“

“Wait, you’re a writer?” Mirio’s head was cocked at you, eyes full of wonder and mouth gaped in awe.

“Well, uh- I mean I do occasionally write… stuff, sometimes.” Your enthusiasm started to drain as your nerves creeped back up, feeling like you’d rambled on far too long.

To your surprise, Mirio simply sucked in a large breath.

“Woah… That’s awesome! You must be like super smart and Shakespear-y!”

“No, no! I don’t write plays, ‘n all that. Just stories.” You corrected quickly, slightly shocked at his quick and adoring reaction.

It seemingly made no difference to Mirio, as he smiled dreamily at you, now resting his chin on both hands.

“So.” He stated matter-of-factly, “You’re a total babe, have great taste in food and anime, and you’ve got an awesome imagination. I’m quite the lucky guy.” Mirio purred, wiggling his eyebrows.

As embarrassed as you were, you couldn’t help but feel flattered at his words, and relief that he viewed your passions positively.

Before you could respond the server re-appeared, asking for your order.

“Two of your limited-edition ramen bowls with a large chocolate milkshake, please!” Mirio glanced over to you as he finished, a smirk weaselling its way onto his face, “With two straws.”

A heated flush spread over you as the server walked away with your order, heart racing against your chest as Mirio grinned your way.

“So, back to what you were saying about that fight scene in episode 12!”

And yet, your nerves from earlier were replaced with an eagerness.

Maybe you hadn’t been on a date before, but you had a feeling this date with Mirio would come to you naturally, and set the standards high for your next one.

Soft light sung through your blinds as the sun rose on a quiet Sunday morning, muted far-away engines and birds tweeting were the only sounds of the outside world to penetrate the plush warmth of your shared bed with Mirio.

Your eyes, blurred with sleep, fluttered open only a little, but enough to see the fluffy mess of blonde hair strewn across your chest as your peaceful hero snored soundly into your chest, his hand resting on your hips, large muscular legs tangled into your plump thighs.

Safe to say he was crowding you quite a bit, but you couldn’t raise a single complaint at the closeness of Mirio, loving the feeling of him cuddling so fondly into you, even subconsciously.

As his breath tickled your chest, you couldn’t stifle the light giggle that tumbled past your lips fast enough to stop the blonde from rousing out of his slumber as your chest lightly bobbed his head.

It took a few minutes for Mirio to gain awareness of his surroundings, and when his eyes managed to focus onto your face, a tender smile automatically took shape.

“Morning sunshine,” he mumbled out, his morning voice deliciously deep and groggy from waking up so soon, “What were you laughing at?”

The sight of Mirio so early in the morning, surrounded by a halo of the morning sun left you with barely enough breath to answer.

“Your snoring was tickling me, silly.”

Regret immediately sunk in as Mirio’s abruptly snapped awake, a wicked grin stealing from where an innocent smile once was.

“Ticklish, huh?”

“No, wait, Miri-“

The hero had pounced on you before you could even finish your sentence, dragging you flat on the bed as his hands brushed all over your body, tickling and poking into your tender flesh, squeezing in the places he knew would make you squeal, and squeal you did.

Laughter poured out of you like a geyser as you tried miserably to fight off your lover, your begs for mercy falling on deaf ears.

It took you a few breaths before you realised his attacks had halted. Through misty eyes you could barely make out Mirio’s face, his once devilish eyes now filled with love as he stared down at you, eyes trailing over the curves and rolls of your body.

“Mirio?”

His eyes snapped up to you in realisation, although he only smiled in response before looking down at the rest of you once more.

“You’re so pretty, baby. Sometimes that beauty of yours still leaves me in shock.” He spoke softly, words filled with honesty.

No words came from you in response as you let his sink in, chest tightening at the raw show of affection.

He didn’t give you much time to process before he was leaning down to trail kisses around the supple pouch of your stomach, hands caressing you soft hips and smiling into you.

“Mirio…” Your voice was a tender whisper.

Blue eyes flicked up to meet yours, glistening with love, while he lay his head on your stomach as if to worship you.

“I love you, my beautiful angel.”
