the real “problem with political correctness” is not that it’s considered offensive to use slurs, but that there are now many “progressive” environments where saying the right things is more important than doing the right thing. it’s why it’s so easy for abusers to gain traction in leftist circles (they learn the right words quickly and employ them to frame their own behavior as progressive); it’s why so much potential activist energy gets poured into fighting about language; it’s why moderate liberals didn’t believe fer/guson had a problem until the police emails with actual racist language were leaked. You want trans people to perform in sports based on sex? Great! Then trans men with male levels of testosterone will be competing against women instead of trans women with female levels. You were worried about the “competetive advantages” that trans women might have, while ignoring the ones that trans men will have, considering that it’s the testosterone levels that determine bone density, fat distribution, and how easy it is to build muscle mass.

You want people going in bathrooms based on sex? Cool! Have fun explaining to your little girl why there’s a lumberjack looking dude who BY LAW has to use the women’s room. Instead of being uncomfortable that there might be a trans woman in the bathroom (not that you’d necessarily be able to clock her anyway) you get to be uncomfortable with someone who actually looks like a man. Have fun with that.

Because guess what? Even if trans men don’t get the same media coverage, we exist. The numbers are pretty even between us. You wanna make laws that target trans women? Trans men will be dragged into it too and you’ll end up with more situations like this. You’ll be creating problems while trying to end a non-existent one.
