HexaMobius / 7.4.26 / Blender, EEVEE
For this one I start with a hexagonal grid of "kissing" circles, and apply a Mobius transformation on the complex plane. Since a Mobius transformation is conformal, the circles stay circles but we see the grid go off to infinity in the center of the image. If we were to zoom in, it would continue forever like a fractal. Each circle is still "kissing" six other circles in a hexagonal lattice structure. It might look like the large circle is only kissing 5 other circles, but the sixth circle is the entire outer bounds of the image, becoming essentially turned inside-out.

A Koa'e Kea flies over a lava fountain during a volcanic eruption in Hawaii. This seabird forages over tropical seas and has distinctive long tail streamers.
Lava fountains form when gas escapes from rising magma, sending molten rock high into the air.
