Dom laughed, raking his teeth over his lower lip for a second as he nodded. He didn't think it was a bad thing exactly. The fact that she even remembered him being that way brought a smile to his face. It had been so long since they'd last seen one another, yet as the seconds ticked by it was like they'd been transported back in time. Nothing had changed, not really. "I'm sure it'll be fine, though. Really," he commented lighly, hoping that he could reassure her, even if he didn't know for definite.
"Yeah. It just seems to work somehow. No complaints at the moment." He couldn't imagine for a second it wouldn't work, but then, he supposed they hadn't really been tested yet. They'd gotten divorced, and then they'd eventually moved to the same place. It was when another drastic change of some sort hit that things could become difficult. "For now, I can get away with it, not sure how long that'll last though," he laughed. "But you're probably right. I am a sucker for animals in the long run, especially ones my daughter loves."
A soft laugh escaped and he nodded again, brow lifting knowingly. "Well, of course. Goes without saying really, doesn't it?" he mused.
Once she handed his phone back, he flashed a quick smile, pocketing the device and making a mental note to shoot her a message as soon as he was home again. Just so she had his number as well. Plus, it meant he could bother her about stopping by the restaurant. "I shouldn't need one really, these guys are... well, they're a big part of my world, you know how it is," he said simply. "Apparently, my sincere face isn't all that sincere, then." He chuckled. "Hopefully it's better twenty-five years later." But who knew, really. "Make sure you let her know," he commented in mock seriousness.
