Characters For The 14 Nails
Originally (If you scroll down), I just posted the lore and the characters name, species, and occupation, but nothing about them as a character. This is what this post is. I will be removing the later lore that I want to be revealed through the short stories I plan on writing.
I will be posting polls asking which species you guys want me to explain and then I will do that. Please vote on the poll somewhere in my blog. (Before it's too late!!)
Kade: Human-Vulpoid Pilot, leader, and assassin (Male)- Kade Tollumn is the biological son of the famous Valhallan pilot and guild leader Rekk Tollumn. Kade is the rogue pilot and leader of the Grouse-59’er. He is tall at 6’4” with dirty blonde hair, ruffled and long, going down to the center back of his neck. He has blueish-green eyes and a scar covered by a tattoo on the left side of his right arm. His casual wear is most commonly black denim pants with leather boots and a tan tunic with a white undershirt. When he is in “formal” attire, he dresses in a black and orange cloak with an orange tunic and a rifle staff in his hand (The rifle staff he usually only ever takes on dangerous missions). He also has a necklace that has five of his father’s metacarpals and earrings made out of the distal phalanxes of his father’s middle fingers. Kade's father was a Human and Kade's mother was a Vulpoid hybrid, though he didn't inherit any traits associated with Vulpoids.
Lira: Human-Haxolotlan Pilot (Female)- Lira Ka-al’ti Yurr is the second pilot of the Grouse-59’er. Due toher being part Haxolotan, she is naturally shorter, only around 5'4". She is often dressed in a white wife beater with a brown jacket and grey jeans. She has tan skin and light blue eyes with long brunette hair that she often braids during missions. She is a childhood friend of Kai’ and Kade, being the social glue of them both as she is rather energetic and outgoing at times. She once even defeated a Kãlki warrior in an arm wrestling match after a Jyvve drinking competition with a Burroid-Baunti Hybrid. She was known for being one of the only members of The 14 Nails that was prone to Jumpspace sickness and hated The Fold, preferring to wear a stasis mask during Fold travel. Due to this behavior, Kade eventually integrated Stasis Pods into the storage section of the Grouse-59’er.
Kai’: Human-Rabboid Hybrid Engineer (Female)- Being that she is a Rabboid-Human hybrid, Kai’ Luppona appears as a human female with rabbit ears and a tail. She is the engineer and unofficial chef of the Grouse-59’er. She is around 5’11” and caucasian with brown rabbit ears that end with white spots. She has long black hair and deep olive green eyes. For this, she was nicknamed “Jyvve” by Miri after the olive green beverage Miri loves to drink. Kai’ is often seen wearing or khaki denim overalls with a white tank top and goggles on her forehead. She also wears thick, faded yellow gloves and often has grease stains on her skin. When she is working, she ties her hair into a bun to keep it from getting stuck in machinery. Kai’ joined the Rand after she was found by Rekk starving at age 15 in the alleyways of Century City on Iaga. She chose to stay with the Rand and was adopted by Zorran and Suki Uhadka.
Hul'dränd: Ogl'räm Navigator and assassin (Asexual with male voice)- Hul’dränd is commonly seen wearing Yotsvíír clothing with an overcloak and a Yotsvíír necklace at the top of his head. He also has orange tattoos lining his back and his left arms. When he is in assassin mode, he is capable of reading minds as his paternal figure was an Ogl’räm psychic, allowing him to share information between others' thoughts. He commonly uses this tactic when on assassin missions with Hui and Jerde. He was the ambassador for the Ogl'räm of The Rand and was 236 years old during the events of the main story.
Ju’wot’tchk: Vóiǧē Engineer and pilot (Asexual with male voice)- Ju'wot'tchk was a 327 year-old Vóiǧe engineer and close friends of all of the members and founders of The Rand, becoming a member after meeting Alya Ittalnd on a drug run through Alfheim.
Freya: Sybberan Medic and engineer (Female)- Freya Yuwaym is a ochre-yellow skin-colored Sybberan female with neon blue, bioluminescent tattoos. She was originally from Mụhr and was found on a Nomad by Miri after she couldn't pay the fee for the trip to Mejia. being from Mụhr (that of which has slightly higher gravity than earth), Freya is around 5'6" in height. She was later taken in by Miri and Tanni after persuading Kade to bring her in as a replacement for Shaal (who was a replacement for Tch'qōōîta who was sadly killed during a run-in with The Naul). She is commonly seen wearing teal and white clothing with blue tattoos running along her arms. She is good friends with Hui and Lira, often being the one who calms Lira down during Jumpspace Turbulence and during Fold travel. She has implant-enhanced legs and eyes, being the tech-wiz of the group. She has long, silver hair that is green at the base and burnt red at the ends. She is the youngest member of The 14 Nails at only 19 years old. She fell in love with an Omma boy named Forte: an energetic and comedic boy with various musical symbols on the edges of his mask since he was a musician. After much persuasion and approval from Kui, Forte was accepted into The 14 Nails since Freya had seen Forte's face. Forte revealed his real name as “Unno” and cleaned his mask, not wearing it around the members of the 14 Nails but still wearing it in public.
Forte (Unno Taamelle): Commonly known as Forte, Unno was a 19 year old Human Saploneion (Native to Aken) member of The Omma and the eventual lover of Freya Yuwaym. Unno was an energetic and comedic boy with various musical symbols on the edges of his mask since he was a musician. After a Naul attack on an Omma ship that The 14 Nails prevented, Freya took Unno and helped him, telling the ship leader, Fox, and gaining her approval, though she asked if Freya had seen Unno's face, to which she said yes. Unno was then sadly kicked out of The Omma for letting someone else see his face. Having nowhere to go, Unno turned to Kade. After much persuasion from Freya and approval from Kui, Unno was accepted into The 14 Nails. He kept his Omma name as a calling card and used his real name around others he felt comfortable around. He cleaned his mask, marking a new beginning. He marked his new mask with the right half being colored yellow to represent Freya. He still wore the mask in public settings and during missions, following the old Omma tradition.
Hui: Śáqdi Medic and assassin (Female)- Hui Abźákhki doesn’t wear a veil like most other Śáqdi as she was raised alongside The Rand, resulting in her gaining religious freedom from the Śáqdi. While she is a medic, she is also a very talented assassin, tying her head tendrils into a type of pony tail to prevent damage to them and wearing a black cloth over her eyes to train her other senses and to hide her identity while "working." She usually fights with the cloth on her eyes, but if a fight becomes too out of control, she will remove the cloth and almost always win. She has hoop earrings that hang from the tentacles at the base of her chin and lacks a “pinky” finger due to an accident when she was training at a young age. She is commonly seen wearing a skin tight black suit with a white cloak. She is given the nickname “White Star” by other guild members and opposing clans as she is very deadly when in assassin mode. She commonly wears durable yet breathably metal plates around her neck to protect her external lungs and prefers not to wear armor as it “gives her a sense of imperative-ness." For being a Śáqdi, she doesn’t speak formally and actually uses the most amount of slang in the whole crew besides TR-4V. She prefers using a Sau-Blade which is a katana-like sword that has very sharp microscopic teeth in the front and back of the blade, resulting in it being a very deadly weapon. Her casual wear is her skin tight assassin clothing with a large shirt and baggy pants over it.
Miri: Yotsvíír Navigator and Engineer (Female)- Miri Ykx'tē'vste is the biological sister of Mal. Miri and Mal originally grew up on Huew but were sent off on a commercial transport Freighter to Odinheim by their parents, hoping that they would have a better life on Valhalla. The fact that she grew up on Huew adds to her known affinity for building, dumpster diving, and welding. She is commonly seen wearing earthy colored clothing. She has a necklace made of recycled Huewan scrap as a keepsake from home. She and her brother are part Bedouin and have beige-ish grey skin. Miri has sea foam green freckles that run down her back. She is fond of Kai' Luppona, even giving her the nickname “Jyvve.” She usually extends her eyes to the end of her face and squints while working for precision, wearing a small energy shield around her eyes to protect them. She is commonly seen wearing a black Bíídj (under cloak) with yellow interlocking patterns and a red and white Dēē (overcloak).
Mal: Yotsvíír Pilot and Navigator (Male)- Mal Ykx'tē'vste is the biological brother of Miri Ykx'tē'vste and usually is seated next to Hul’dränd in the bridge of the Grouse-59’er, with them having conversations via exchanging information telepathically, resulting the the bridge being eerily quite when in flight. Mal is commonly seen wearing traditional bíídj’dēē clothing native to the Yotsvíír. He wears two teal stone necklaces and bands of cloth wrapped around his eye stalks. He is commonly seen wearing a white Bíídj (under cloak) with a teal green Dēē (overcloak) and has a long teal tattoo running down his back alongside his compact orange freckles. Mal and Miri originally grew up on Huew but were sent off on a commercial transport Freighter to Odinheim by their parents, hoping that they would have a better life on Valhalla. He and his sister are part Bedouin and have beige-ish grey skin.
Jerde: Kãlki Engineer, rogue, and assassin (Male)- Jerde “Sylo” K'ãl-K’i-T'cham is the adopted son of Tarren Sylo, who worked alongside Kade’s father Rekk Tollumn. His horns were stumped to prevent them from getting in the way on missions. He has brass rings that wrap around the stumps of each of his studded tusks. He has a scar that runs down the left side of his face and has a robotic hand after losing his real one in a duel with an Architect during The Battle For Valhalla. He had snuck onto Tarren’s ship and when the Architect boarded and killed Tarren, Jerde was filled with rage and charged at the Architect even though he was only half its size. He sustained major wounds but eventually won in the end by using a sodium-plated dagger Tarren had. When Jerde had healed, he lost the function of one of his hearts. He was recognized as a true warrior of the Úlfheðnar despite only being 10 years old. He was nicknamed “Two Heart” and was given a cloak of honor as a reward. Jerde wears this cloak in honor which is an orange piece of fabric on his right shoulder that runs down to his knee. He commonly wears black clothing with white patterns on them and a black overcoat. He is a known abuser of Khich, using it to calm down and reduce stress and anxiety. He also used it when he sensed a panic attack (one does not want to be in the same room with a Kãlki having a panic attack).
Kui: Nai Engineer and pilot (Male)- Kui is the adopted brother of Miri and Mal, so they often get into dibocals. He is the comedic soul of the gang. Kui is part Q"Chai and has whitish-brown fur. He is commonly seen with rings lining his left mandible and Yotsvíír bands on his antennae. He wears a beige cloak with a leather overcoat and a fabric band wrapped around his body to hide his genitalia which he is shy about, though no one is capable of seeing it due to his fur. He is close friends with Je'la and is the only Nai member of The 14 Nails. Due to his instinctual burrowing culture, Kui hates large, open spaces. His room is a tight burrow plated in soft cushions that he plasters with posters and a small library. He is commonly seen with radial prescription goggles to protect his eyes when working.
TR-4V: Android Pilot, navigator, and engineer (Asexual but displayed as male)- Also called “Trav,” TR-4V is a 137 year old android with an orange streak on his chest. He is rather cocky and speaks in a slangy tone of voice. He usually wears a jacket, leather gloves, an old, wide brimmed Mynu farmers hat, and khakis to hide his robotic body. He is very fond of music and has developed full emotions and sentience, even being able to dream. He has two, pin-hole small ocular intake points that glow a dull blue. He also has a variety of short, long distance antennae that receive information. These antennae jut out of the back of his head, pointing downwards.
Je'la: Baunti Rouge and assassin (Male)- Being a Baunti, Je’la Orlan has beige-ish grey skin with pointed ears and sharp features. His eyes are bright golden orange and he is 6’8”. He usually wears a black cloak with a red undershirt and formal pants. He speaks formally though changes his tone when blending in with others and always uses sodium metal coated weapons to deal maximum damage to his targets if needed. He eventually married Tanni Uklan, the Leian Valkyrie of the group, after she told him how she felt and became the father of 3 adopted children each of a different species. During this assassin days, he became an addict of “Charrem Cocktails,” drinking them whenever he could, refusing to smoke or inhale it. He was good friends with Josa Majah. He left the group early, being replaced by Forte, though he was still good friends with Jerde, Kui, Tanni, and Kade. he later married Tanni Uklan and adopted 3 children.
Tanni: Leian Valkyrie engineer, pilot, navigator, and medic (Female) Tanni Uklan was a close friend of Rekk and ambassador for the Leian Valkyries of Valhalla. She is commonly seen wearing large, baggy khakis, a large, red leather jacket, a white, yellow and blue scarf, and a backpack-like hood for her wings to be protected. When she was liberated on Kahad, she hitched a Nomad to Finch where she worked as a hauler and restocked for a Midgard restaurant chain until she was picked up by Rekk Tollumn and became a member of The Rand. After being a member of The 14 Nails for 13 years, she had developed romantic feelings for Je'la Orlan, the Baunti assassin member of the group. She later married him after and adopted 3 children, each of different species.
Josa Majah: Josa “The Shadow” Majah was a Baunti bounty hunter who was infamous for being one of the best bounty hunters in the galaxy. He promised to help Haidi Luppona locate and reunite with her lost sister Kai’ Luppona.
Haidi Luppona: Haidi Luppona was the lost sister of Kai' Luppona. She was one of the concubines to Makai Suha'aili for 5 years until she saw Josa Majah. She could tell that Josa was humble and a man of his words. She left Makai and hired Josa to help find her sister. Haidi later became very close friends with Josa and even became a bounty hunter herself.
Makai Suha'aili: Makai Suha'aili was the duke of House Ivansi who lived on. He was the son of Duke Harlass Ivansi IV though he refused to carry his father's title. He was childhood friends with the Luppona family, not revealing that he was an earl to House Ivansi. When Kai’ Luppona was kidnapped, Makai comforted her sister Haidi Luppona and later married her at the age of 15 along with 3 other women. He lived in a palace on Afflatus, the moon of Muse. (The palace, called “The Great Ivan” was a 3 mile long, mile high, 2 mile wide beigeish gold building that took on the aesthetic of both gothic and arabian architecture).
