I know I keep saying I need to use Tumblr more often, and I don't. Either way, it's been a long time coming, me updating this and all, so I'll give it a formal little blurb before fading back into the void.

"You Don't Belong" is a VenturianTale/Taleblr fic focused on a young, wolflike Johnny Toast being abducted by a strange organization focused on proving that the paranormal exists beyond a shadow of a doubt.

That being said, this fic does have a lot of content warnings that I should iterate now!

CW: Child abuse, stalking, dehumanization, mental illness, whump, blood, medical torture, angst, and other similar topics are major in this fic. If you aren't up to read that, then don't! Take care of yourselves, people.

Additionally, the "other similar topics" is largely in reference to the fact that this fic is still in it's infancy, and more scenarios that may show up. Again, take care of yourselves!

Do you think all symbolism within a story is intentional or does it just happen? If the latter, do you think the author ever notices that unintentional detail?

I think this depends on the medium that authors are using. In a comic, for example, or something under a Shonen Jump kind of weekly schedule, symbolism and similar elements are the result of the author/artist going back and incorporating that symbol into a later event to signify something to the audience,, eventually evolving into that author understanding personally what it is they're trying to write.

From the perspective of someone writing something like a novel or something that takes a larger amount of thought put into it, symbolism and meaning like that ends up being much more deliberate just by the fact that it's one long stream of an idea until the story comes together.
