I'm sorry, I didn't see this before! I kinda forgot ab Hollow Knight for a while, and kept this blog up because people liked stuff now and again, and I thought it might be nice to have stuff still here so that the content was readable!
I've gone back and read some of the stuff I wrote, and holy shit. 16 year old or so me was hilarious.

Pardon but may I make a small request of a platonic relationship between the Pure Vessel and reader? Like the reader trained along side them and eventually helped Ghost hunt them down trying to talk sense into them before the big boss fight?

You only just escaped the infection. It wasn't easy; the only thing that pulled you through until the little Ghost found you was thinking of the Pure Vessel you had trained with.
You had been known for your potential and quick learning, and the king had had you trained alongside them, in hopes they would pick up your skill.
The memories were fond, if faded. The five great knights had been ecstatic to help train the both of you.
It was so hard to remember; she pounded at the inside of your head, screaming for you to give in. Then, the little ghost awoke you. Together, you searched.
As Hornet said, the black egg wasn't meant to accomodate those who were not vessels. You had to wait outside.
After a long time, far too long to be comfortable, you heard it. The sound of someone limping, and another someone much smaller trying to help them. Trying.
You rushed in, ignoring the intense sickness you felt from the black egg, and helped them out. You couldn't believe it.. they were really alive.
They couldn't seem to believe it either. They kept turning to stare at you, pointed at you, and signed "Them" with all the energy they could muster.
It was a long recovery, but with you there, they managed it.
Yo, can we get some romantic Nailmasters headcannons with a Chaotic Stupid (tm) SO? I'm sorry, but the idea of these actually competent characters having an so who is the pure embodiment of my last braincell is hilarious.

Guys, gals, and nonbinary pals, I present slow burn mutual pining: Extreme edition
The reason Brumm wants to leave in canon is because he can't take it anymore. The Grimmchild inherits Grimm's soul when he dies, and the cycle continues.
Grimm knew full well what Brumm was planning to do. He accepted it, thinking that Brumm hated him for what he made everyone do.
Grimm didn't think he was brave enough to stop the ritual. The Grimmchild, though, picked up on some of the "come and fight me bitch" from Ghost, and maybe next time he'll be able to stop it.. who knows?
Maybe a stranger will come to Hallownest. A strange fellow. He'll take up his place beside Nymm, and something long lost will spark a flame again.

They met when they were both young adults. Ze'mer was a newly knighted warrior, and the Traitor's child an outcast.
Ze'mer was the kind who frightened many. She was a bit used to being an outcast. The traitor's child didn't seem to mind; she liked that about her.
After learning about her post, the traitor's daughter would sometimes visit Ze'mer in the Queen's gardens. Needless to say, the Queen was absolutely ecstatic, and was happy to let her stay.

I won't lie, I never thought of this one before. Cool though!!
I'm sorry to tell you, but given the circumstances, they probably never ended up actually dating. There was just a lot of mutual pining.
One thought was not all that made the Knight "impure", but it was a cascade, one thing causing another. They had feelings and they didn't know what they were.
Dryya tried to be as strictly professional as possible. Not just because the knight needed to stay pure, nor because of her reputation to uphold- she was scared. Worried everything would fall apart because of her.
Time passed, and Dryya did all she could to protect the kingdom. But when the mantises invaded, she fell in battle; the tale we all know. Her last thought was to protect.. but it was not about the queen. It was to protect everything the Knight had sacrificed themself for.
All that time later, the Knight inevitably found her body. The agony they felt then.. comparable to everything they'd been through, one could say.
