“A lot of people notice you Francine, it’s almost impossible to ignore your existence.” Lil paused feeling a little played as she replied a relationship of that sort wouldn’t really work out, but then Francine looked as if she was bout to cry, or breakdown…. or both. “I wasn’t planing on leaving, I just wanted an answer— I don’t hate you Francine!” She left out the fact she had no where else to go anyways she’d learned that Francine liked to have her ego stroked whenever convenient.

Lilly bit her lip before making the quick decision to comfort her, she got up and wrapped her arms around her waist and buried her face into her back. She didn’t care about breakfast anymore.

“They notice me because I flirt—” She sniffled again, moving her hand to carefully swipe at her eyes, hoping to keep her make-up from running. 

“I—I r-really care for you, Lilly, I just. I don’t want you to get hurt.” She took a shaky breath, biting her lip when the shorter girl hugged her from behind. “Everyone—Everyone always leaves. Because of me, because of the way I act, and…” Her fingers tightened around the pan’s handle, and she closed her eyes, head ducking. “I just don’t know how much more I can handle that…”

“No they notice you because you’re gorgeous and outgoing and friendly.” She corrected, letting her arms slack a bit so Francine had the freedom to move around as she cooked. “What the flirting or the attention?” She frowned a little, “I’m fine with being just friends but if it’s attention you need I’ll give you as much as I can and as for the flirting, I- I’d try my best to keep you entertained.”  She watched her continue to cook waiting for rejection honestly.

She let a little sniffle, quickly flipping the pancake before it started to burn. It was a little too dark, but not black... "I'm sorry..."

She was confused, they had done it and she became even more affectionate than usual, but she still witnessed her flirting and seducing men. Was that just a fling? Was that usual to express intimacies and then pretend nothing happened?

She was hesitant to bring it up and things had made her more awkward, which at this point probably leveled her down to a social moron. The longer it went unspoken the more nervous and disheartened she became. Until one morning it was just too much for her. 

Francine was right in the middle of making them some breakfast and Lilly fiddled with her bangs bringing the subject up.

“Francine can we talk about something?”

She shuffled the pan, hoping Lilly was hungry. Today was a breakfast-skipping day. Had to watch her figure, after all. “I think I have strawberries, too…!”

She interrupted herself  with an answer, “—2 or 3, I’m not very hungry, do you have some oranges?”

"You should eat more, you're so tiny," Francine hummed, fishing through the fruit basket to find some oranges--she had to have some in there, she just bought some the other day to use them for zest...

"What are we?" She echoed. After a moment's pause, she shrugged. "I take it you mean this a little less literally than 'two women in a kitchen,' oui?" With a little chuckle, she slid the first pancake onto a plate. 

"I haven't really thought about titles. We can be whatever you want to be, I suppose?"

When Francine shook off her hand she felt her chest tighten, a brief expression of hurt on her face and maybe mild panic, but she was soothed quickly enough when the arm wrapped around her. 

She hated seeming so meek and weak in front of people but she reasoned it was simply because she was used to people bowing in her presence and greeting her with some respect, not disgusted glares. She kept her eyes on the ground for most of the transaction just happy to be out of there.

She sighed resting her head against Francine as they made their way home.

Francine smiled all the way home, and dumped the bags on the floor almost immediately once they got there. She quickly sifted through the pile to separate hers and Lilly's new underwear. Placing a kiss on the brunette's cheek, she brushed by to put all the merchandise away.

She continued to act like normal for the next week or so, showering Lilly with affection and gentle kisses. There was the occasional condescending remark or fish for compliments, but they got on much the same as usual.

Or at least, that's what Francine assumed. Everything was okay, right? Lilly cared about her!!

Lil frowned a little at the teasing and it grew a little when she mentioned having to stick around and buy the pile of clothing.

When Francine offered to let her dash at first she nodded yes but immediately changed her mind shaking her head no, she realized she’d get lost because she still had no idea how this city was laid out.

“I—- wouldn’t make you face that alone.” She half fibbed pulling her shirt on. She held the door open for her trying her best to ignore the people crowded around for the show but she could feel her face was painted red and perhaps a little guilt showing through. She grabbed Francine’s hand not wanting to be alone in this.

"You're sweet," Francine hummed, gathering the things they were going to buy. "There's nothing to be nervous about, dear. They'll probably pay more attention to me anyway."

She chuckled a little as they left the dressing room, shaking Lilly's hand off in lieu of wrapping the free arm around her waist and pulling her close. She held her head high, walking quickly and shooting everyone whose eyes she met a seductive smirk.

She drew a compact mirror from her purse as their purchases rang up, using her pinky finger to attempt to fix her make-up. Attempt as the operative word.

They made it out of the pink store in one piece, Lilly pulled close to Francine's side, and a group of pink bags in Francine's left hand and in Lilly's right.

Hopefully the little brunette wouldn't notice the lipstick mark smudged on her cheekbone until they got home.

She paused a minute, debating.

Eventually she decided on yes, crossing the dressing room to stand right before Lilly. She moved her hands to shift the outfit a little, running her hands up and down as if to check the fit. They came to rest on either side of Lilly’s face, pulling her closer to press their lips together, gently pulling the younger girl’s lower lip into her mouth.

“Ever had sex in a dressing room?” she asked quietly against Lilly’s lips as she pulled away. They were close enough that Lilly wouldn’t leave her if she didn’t want this, right?

Curious and a tad bit nervous she stayed still letting Francine’s hands travel, gasping into the kiss not expecting it in the least. She let her eyes fall shut and nearly melted in her hold hesitantly reaching for her waist.

Lil’s eyes widened and she swallowed hard before answering the question, “Before today I didn’t know what a dressing room was.”

She tossed her shirt off once more almost immediately once re-entering, tossing it into the corner with her skirt. She chose a corset to try on next, reaching back to unclasp her own bra and tossing it into the pile as well but pausing before she could get her new garment on. 

She stopped and looked at the corset in her hands, humming. She should try on the lacy one. Not this opaque one… Making the decision, she went back to the little pile she’d made, digging through for the sheer lace corset  and starting to unzip it.

“See anything you like there, dear?” she asked nonchalantly as she did so, looking over to where Lilly was.
