Quebec Election

Today’s the Quebec provincial election!

To vote today, you must be on the provincial electoral roll. Bring with you one piece of photo identification (Quebec health care card, Quebec driver’s license, passport, Canadian Forces ID card, or Certificate of Indian Status). If you don’t have any of these, the poll workers will send you to the identity verification panel. Make voting easier by bringing the card that was mailed to your residence!

Local polls are open today until 8pm EST.

You are entitled to four consecutive hours during open polls to vote. Your employer must accommodate this time so you can vote, whether it’s giving you four hours off or changing your schedule to allow you that time.

All information on voting can be found at Elections Quebec 

You can also bring your children; polling places have a children’s polling station where they can vote about what they think is important to democracy. Children can watch their parents vote, then participate in their own vote–they receive a sticker and a temporary tattoo!

If you have a complaint about the service you’ve received at your polling place, or a possible violation of Quebec election law, you can make a complaint here.
