Dr. Hoot, the Eastern Screech Owl, arrived at Blandford Nature Center in 2018 with permanent damage to his left wing after being struck by a car in Indiana. Unable to survive on his own in the wild, Dr. Hoot now lives under the care of the nature center as a Wildlife Ambassador. Photographed outdoors on Saturday, May 4th, 2019. This American Kestrel, named Falco, is one of the Wildlife Ambassadors residing at Blandford Nature Center in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Falco was hit by a car in 2011 fracturing his right wrist. While his bones did heal, he is unable to fully extend his wing and cannot achieve proper flight. This injury has left him unable to survive on his own in the wild.
