Pro-lifers are NOT welcome here ♡
With recent events, ive started calling ai users future school shooters, and they *hate* it, so obviously I'm doing something right.
It also has the side bonus of getting covert ai users to out themselves (you know the "i dont use it to *write*, I just use it for research/inspiration types 🙄) so I can avoid their slop too.
I've seen 1st hand how addictive it is. It isn't *possible* to only use it for one type of task. If someone admits to using it for one thing (meaning they weren't immediatly repulsed by it), they're using for everything, but are too ashamed to admit it. LLMs are engineered to be as addictive as possible. Someone saying they only use ai "for inspiration" or "for proofreading", is like saying that they only smoke meth on Tuesdays and could totally stop at any time.
??? what recent events? and unless there’s something I missed, what does ai users have anything to do with school shooters? I’m not sure if this is satire and I don’t like ai either but
1. can we please not water down something so serious and terrible as school shootings to… normal people who use ai? sure, ai is terrible and harmful, but it’s not anywhere near as terrible and harmful as school shootings. like, you do know people—children—actually die because of it, right? comparing the two together like it’s “on the same level of being harmful” is super offensive and insensitive to people who were affected by school shooting incidents.
2. shame and harassment won’t make people stop using ai. it just makes people use it in private/secret.
I’m sorry but you’re not doing anything right here, and the fact you think you are — unless you’re being sarcastic (which is still shitty) — is concerning.
do I hate ai? yes. do I hate people who use it? no. do I think people who use ai are terrible people? no. I have already talked about this before, but I believe people are more complicated than whether or not they use ai. will I ever condone harassment? also no.
I do agree with the last paragraph you said about it being addictive, but unfortunately the first paragraph you mentioned tells me you might not be the type of person I’d want to associate myself with. so the whole thing isn’t the “anti ai statement” you think it is. and no, you are not being anti ai here. you’re just being very offensive and insensitive to people who were affected by school shooting incidents and people who’ve lost their loved ones because of it. and it says more about you than normal people — idiots, but still normal people — who use ai. also if anything, the fact ai users are angry about being compared to school shooters only tells me they are still normal, decent-enough people who, despite their shitty actions of using ai, don’t want to be compared to literal murderers. and that alone makes them better than you.
The day people stop throwing around a word like school shooter to people they don’t like just to be edgy and in process watering down the severity of it is the day the world becomes a better place
happy international julius caesar whump day to all those who celebrate 🗡️
Reblog if you have contributed to the 17 million fanworks posted on Archive of Our Own ♡
Don't like terrible things = puritans? At least I don’t support incest, pedophilia, etc, as you do. Hang yourself, sick bastard.
babe, I don’t even like incest or anything that involves characters who are minors being portrayed in sexual nature. it makes me extremely uncomfortable and if I ever come across it when it is not properly tagged (which is extremely rare), I either block, mute or scroll past it like it burns.
that said, I also understand censorship is a fascist tool and I also understand fiction is not reality. no real person or animal is harmed.
I also understand a lot of victims and survivors — victims and survivors whom you told to hang themselves — use dark fiction to help them heal from their trauma.
I also don’t tell others to harm themselves, especially over fiction.
the fact you hide behind anon like a coward means you know you are in the wrong and are too ashamed to show your face.
if you think this message makes “antis” look like “good people” instead of unhinged bullies who suicide bait others over fiction while pretending to be morally superior, you’re both wrong and stupid.
but instead of stooping to your level and telling you to harm yourself, I genuinely do hope you get the help you need and understand that fiction is not reality, and under no circumstances will it ever be okay to tell anyone to harm themselves — especially when you do so while hiding behind anon, especially when it’s over something as harmless as fiction and fantasies.
do better.
and to my fellow writers, write whatever you want and be unapologetic about it. I may not like the thing you write, but I will always defend its rights to exist and I will always condemn every bully who harasses real people over fiction.
Am i a proshipper if I don't like absolutely anything that is considered problematic or dark (and sometimes i am even disgusted by these things) but I think that people have the right to write and read whatever they want as long as its fiction?
that is literally the textbook definition of proship
Hi I saw your post on the need for a beta reader, if you sre still in need of one, I will be happy to help
THIS IS A BOT/SCAM BY THE WAY.
I have never made a post asking for a beta reader. if anything, all of my posts regarding beta readers are to warn my followers about this new surge of scam plaguing the writing community on tumblr where bots reach out to random people and offer to beta read their works. in all these posts, I’ve also made it clear that I prefer to work alone without a beta reader, but if I ever want one, I have my best friend whose opinions I trust and value for that.
normally I would block asks like this without posting/giving them the attention, but since this specific one claims something that’s entirely untrue (meaning they use the same script for probably dozens of people at random in hope some of them actually do ask for a beta reader and will fall for their scam), I’m posting it as another example of bots and scams pretending to be beta readers.
stay safe, folks
Reblog if you want more abortion representation in media.
I’m so tired of characters in movies and tv shows changing their minds at an abortion clinic the very last minute because “this baby is precious🥺 this life is innocent🥺”. abort that parasite. abortion is human rights. abortion is healthcare. abortion is good.
A reminder that Valentine isn’t just for romantic love. Tell your friends and family you love them
screenshotting other people’s fics and posting them to mock and shame writers is such an entitled, loser behavior and why twitter and tiktok are seen as ‘toxic platforms full of bullies and entitled teens’.
no one says you have to like every fic. no one says you can’t find a fic ‘terribly written’. but if at any point you find yourself not liking what you read, instead of being a dick about other people’s harmless hobbies that they do for themselves and you got to read for free, you could have just clicked the back button and looked for something else to read. or, better yet, you could’ve started writing what you wanted to read yourself.
this normalization of openly mocking other people’s fics — especially now with the raise of ai, bots harassing/trying to scam writers and the lack of positive engagement writers get — is why writers are wary about sharing their works with you. writers are kind enough to share with you what they wrote for free. you can just not read it if it’s not your cup of tea. but if you keep this mean girl bully energy up by screenshotting their works to mock and shame them, eventually there will be no fics for you to read, eventually there will be no fan contents for you to enjoy.
no artists want to share their hard works for free if they’ll just end up getting mocked by a bunch of childish bullies. if you don’t want to destroy the community and fandom you’re in, stop acting like a bully, stop mocking and shaming fics.
if you take screenshots of fanfic just to mock them, please get the hell away from my page.
There's a difference between mocking published books by authors who are MAKING MONEY from their work (think Colleen Hoover, JK R*wl*ng, Jeff Kinney) and mocking fanfiction which the authors are NOT MAKING MONEY FROM and are doing this because they enjoy the work. "Why did this fic I was mocking stop updating?" maybe because the author thought that nobody liked it because of YOUR (and several other peoples) mocking!
You can give criticism to fanfiction. You can criticize anything. But mocking it? No. Do not.
Just leave the criticism in the comments of the work for gods' sake and don't be a dick about it.
with all due respect, unsolicited criticism can and will make writers stop writing and sharing their works.
fanfic isn't a place for you to criticize other people's hobbies or how they write their silly little fics. IF the author specifically asks for criticism then sure, criticize their works, tell them your honest opinions. but if they didn't ask for one, don't give them one. because fanfic writers are writing what they want for fun, they are not looking for strangers to tell them what they should write or how they should write. it's their silly little hobby and their source of comfort. NOT EVERYTHING NEEDS CRITICISM
as a writer, I will just block you if you give me unsolicited criticism. like girl who asks for your opinions? this is my silly little fic that I write for silly little me.
if I want criticism, I will personally ask that from people I know and trust, people whose opinions I value. but if a random stranger tries to "maybe you should xyz" when it comes to things I do for myself, as a hobby and an escape from real-life problems, I will just block their ass
A reminder that darker fiction has a right to exist and explore themes that people are uncomfortable with. Yes, even if it's romanticized. Yes, even if you personally don't like it.
Authors have always written about things that they don't agree with morally, and I hope to god they always will, despite how shitty people treat them for doing that now.
The saga continues
