(Warning: this is incomplete) at first I wanted to draw a wholesome interaction in a similar style to moominvalley, since I think herald and fount's relationship would be quite similar to moomin and snufkin's in some ways (I'm not gonna elaborate on that) but then I remembered that trees are supposed to have shadows, and the style went out the window. also, I put this aside like 3 times, so you can see full illustrations transitioning into a comic

it's not finished and I was kinda hesitating to upload this bc of the sudden change in the artstyle, the weird angles and the childish chatter were pissing me off, but I already did it. the next part would be fount (still unbothered by herald's presence) explaining how children's books not only can contain political ideology but also show a lot about the author's mindset (I think none of the virtues actually understood how common cookies saw the world, because they never had the opportunity to be in their shoes, and that's why they never understood what they needed) then herald would tease him bc of course fount is trying to learn about cookies through books and threatens to eat the cake— finally managing to get Fount to put the book aside, and they'll end up eating the cake together while cuddling (and sugar of happiness would realise she maybe didn't send the best cookie to convince fount to get his ass off there, but at least she has a nice sight. meanwhile flour of volition... she'd probably be high in the background)

I dissapeared a month doing this alt version of the first comic. In my defense, it's 11 pages of pure improvisation and me having a stroke to figure how to paint this, in any case don't expect a masterpice

This time I wanted to create a more medieval vibe in honor of the costumes, so I made this part based on this:

this time taking advantage of the fact that beasts technically don't age, her fanfic is about burning spice spending the whole eternity searching for the only cookie he once loved, (not without getting rid of cookies that ain't useful bc burning spice).

I forgot this scene after the stab, but thinking about it eternal sugar got burned and mistyc flour electrocuted, but those wounds can heal once the cause is gone. meanwhile burning spice is STILL slowly dying poisoned by mercury, his brain is ceasing to function, and yet he's more concerned for whatever is happening before being worried about himself. I wondered 'does the beasts think shadow milk is dead now? what if burning spice falters by the mercury?, he'll die thinking SMC is actually dead and the rest on danger and he couldn't do anything to help?'

context: when I saw the new costume of shadow milk I automaticaly thought 'king? red?' 'wait a minute... there's someone else who fits that desc... BURNINGMILK implied??' so my first idea was: 'what if eternal sugar wrote an angst fanfic were she makes smc get rid of anything he loves, like his hair, and since burning spice is the only beast that treats smc decently in their kingdom and in-battle interactions, maybe she got rid of it and as a form of mockery she made shadow milk to take bsc throne?'

my first comic and my first post in tumblr, it looked... way better in my head. how tf did shadow milk defeat burning spice so easily? idk then I realiced, it would have made more sense to say 'esc made them marry' so I'll probably do an alt version I'm drawing with mouse so it will took a while
