I see the children in the rain like the parade before the pain⠀ I see the love, I see the hate, I see this world that we can make⠀ I see the life, I see the sky, Give it all to see you fly⠀ Yes, we wave this flag of hatred, but you're the ones who made it⠀ Watch the beauty of all our lies passing right before my eyes⠀ I hear the hate in all your words. All the wars to make us hurt⠀ We get so sick oh so sick, we never wanted all this⠀ Medication for the kids with no reason to live⠀ So we⠀ March to the drums of the dammed as we come⠀ Watch it burn in the sun, we are numb⠀ We are young⠀ But we have heart⠀ Born in this world as it all falls apart⠀ We are strong⠀ We don't belong⠀ Born in this world as it all falls apart⠀ .⠀ .⠀ .⠀ .⠀ .⠀ posted on Instagram - https://ift.tt/32yEmZF
We are the youth we'll take your fascism away⠀ We are the youth & politicians are so sure⠀ We are the youth & we are knocking on death's door⠀ Never knew we were living in a world with a mind that could be so small maybe we don't want to live in a world⠀ Where innocence is so short⠀ .⠀ .⠀ .⠀ .⠀ posted on Instagram - https://ift.tt/3a1chN0
Freedom. That is what is tattooed across this man’s chest. Having had the freedom and courage to overcome the many obstacles he must have faced in his transition from his biological sex to that of which he identifies. Día de los Muertos one year ago today, outside the pantheon, performers and other locals prepared the caravan to lead the souls of the Dead back home in a celebration of their life so their loved ones would feel their presence. Inside the pantheon, however, was no less festive as tombs were decorated in marigolds and other offerings, some cleaned and painted the tombs, and others still gathered and told stories. The scene that truly struck me, though, was that of a birthday celebration at the princess castle tomb of a little girl who passed far too young. Her birthday would have been just days before so the family attended a birthday party for her complete with gifts and all. They were more than happy to recount stories with me and share photos and memories. There was no sadness, no pain of loss, only a feeling of gratefulness for having been blessed with their time together at all. . . . . . . posted on Instagram - https://ift.tt/2JIYkc6
The Day of the Little Angels Nov 1st 2018 at an outdoor performance by local children in Lazaro Cardenas Park just off the boardwalk in Puerto Vallarta Mexico. The boys carry crucifixes made of Mexican Marigolds, also known as cempasuchil, while the girls are carrying decorated offerings. . . . . posted on Instagram - https://ift.tt/2WAxh7G

A year ago today I startedA project I’m still in the midst of. It’s been a fun journey, and one I can’t wait to share. This image is from that first day in Mexico after I decided to begin documenting the everyday person and Día de los Muertos. I meta number of interesting people and made some friends and cant wait to go back for a longer adventure. Here, A father walks his daughter, dressed as a princess, down the boardwalk in Puerto Vallarta Mexico as the city prepares for it's Day of the Dead celebrations. . . . posted on Instagram - https://ift.tt/2qMXIeF

9:44am May 3rd 2000, nineteen years ago today, and twenty three days before I graduated high school, I was pulled from my class unexpectedly. Wondering what I was being accused of, things changed quickly as I was taken from the wing and picked up by my mother as we traveled to a local hospital. My father, Wayne E Belue, had been shot, kneeling on the bathroom floor, half prepared for a shower, 4 mm off of the center of his forehead. Police ruled it a suicide, despite there being no prints on the gun used, a chrome, Pearl handled .45 that was his, and was found underneath him. Hours before he was making phone calls too arrange for taking some time off in June, and the night before he was soaking with me to ensure he was going to be able to attend my graduation. All of this seems another lifetime away. I have virtually no connection to the people and places from that time. But it still resonates. . . . . . posted on Instagram - http://bit.ly/2UTv8BK
