Flower wallas in #Varanasi, #India, near the #Ghats and one of the many #Hindu temples. The woman at left is making flower garlands from the marigolds for the worshippers and for offerings to the gods in their #pooja. This flower is offered as a symbol of trust and surrender to the divine in order to overcome obstacles. It's also associated with the victory of Lord Rama over Ravana, the kidnapper of his wife Sita, thus the conquest of good over evil. When I backpacked to #Agra, #India, of course I had to visit the #TajMahal. But while many thousands of people squeezed into the Taj and filed quickly around the gates obstructing the view of the Emperor and his wife, few visited the #mosques alongside. In fact, this large and quiet building was only shared between myself and a handful of #pigeons. An old photograph I took as a teenager circa 1987 on my old #Vivitar v335 with colour #Fujifilm NPZ800 film (I think), and a red 25A filter. I'm sure I gave this one all sorts of terrible melodramatic titles, but I'll just let the image speak for itself nowadays.
