Ok, so This was supposed to be part of my ongoing series, then I realized the timeline didn’t add up, but I fell in love with the concept of purple waves and so I couldn’t bring myself to scrap this - and lord knows I don’t have the time to re-write anything these days. So I’m posting this here, an AU of an ongoing series, which really, is just a bunch of one-shots set post-season 7.
The waves were purple. A soft lavender color which gained and lost intensity as the suns continued to orbit the planet.
The air was cool and refreshing, and the evening suns made the entire beach look almost enchanted.
Her dress was a soft cream color, loose and tunic like which fell down to her ankles. Her feet were bare and enjoying the soft feeling of the almost white sand.
He was dressed in a pristine three piece suit which she couldn’t help but grin at.
Fury stood looking as portentous as ever, sunglasses in place, lips tightly closed, yet she could tell he was hiding back an amused grin.
Coulson stood next to him, a surprise if there ever was one. He stood tall, proud and with tears in his eyes which were quick to be mirrored on her own face.
The rest of their friends’ faces surrounded them, blurry and bit slow, but they had refused to hold the ceremony inside the framework.
“We’ve already been fake-married at least three times, if we’re doing this right, we’re doing it on a live planet.” Daisy stated, eyes still focused on the computer screen in front of her.
“Preferably Earth.” Sousa was quick to pitch in, his own face scrunched up in concentration.
She could see Jemma trying to control an agitated Alya, Mack trying to not cry as Yo-yo openly sobbed.
May- May looked as overwhelmed as Daisy had ever seen the woman. Her SO’s eyes continuously darting between Coulson and herself.
In the end, it was May’s subtle wink which broke Daisy’s reserve, and the few tears she had been shedding, promptly turned into full sobs.
The ocean turned a bright violet color as she arrived to stand next to Daniel, both chuckling as they came to realize both had red-rimmed eyes and unshameful tears rolling down both their faces.
“Why are we crying? We promised we wouldn’t."
"Well, we are known to be a little idiotic at times.”
She chuckled, sniffing back her tears. “It’s our wedding day, don’t make me slap you."
"Technically this would be our fourth wedding."
His eyes crinkled, his lips giving a half grin which never failed to make a puddle out of Daisy.
He thought himself the joker, yet she appreciated his attempt at both humor and diversion. She could feel her nerves dwindling down, her emotions finding a steady rhythm as her mind focused on his chuckle, his eyes, his smile.
"I think the one in Junt was not a wedding ceremony.” She supplied, their joint chuckles being interrupted by Fury’s scoff.
Both agents turned to the legend, their faces still red and puffy, yet exuberant.
“Guys, we can only hold the signal for so very long. We are transmitting this signal from over two galaxies away, you know?"
"Where exactly are you, anyway? The ocean looks gorgeous.” Jemma complemented her husband’s interlude.
“It’s actually a really funny story-”
“And I bet it’s also sickeningly sweet, but we are on a schedule here, people. Not to mention Coulson here won’t last much longer before morphing into some inconsolable baby. So please, can we get on with marrying you two?"
Daisy laughed, Daniel nodded and gave a very inciting blush.
As Fury commenced the ceremony, tone firm and yet somehow endearing all at once, Daisy’s feet felt the soft brush of the soft, purple waves.
She looked over at Daniel, who in turn had his eyes firmly planted on her own face. They traded secret smiles and secret glances, unspoken ‘I loved yous’ filling the atmosphere.
The beach on Medusa was exquisite, and she would always feel indebted to her sister for having found the location, because Kora had been right, it truly felt magical.
