* WEDDING INVITE : LILY & JAMES POTTER
for @grrlonfire
JAMES F. POTTER
LET US EAT & DRINK , FOR TOMORROW WE DIE .
born amidst cloud linings & sunbeams — child of the cosmos , marked by grace . comes into the world swinging , knuckles pale as he holds the world by tight reins . asphalt drives lined with sun spotted trees become continents , young rivers bubbling over rocks the seven seas . fingertips trace the edges of this universe — HIS universe — and in the darkest winters , summer rests fresh on his lips . he is young and clumsy and happy and you’d think his laugh could make the lamppost moon draw itself closer to the driveway earth . movement never ceasing , ever on like the rising tides .
UNSTOPPABLE youth , feeding off of three new hearts that seem to beat in time with his own . they clamor down the halls , cheeks flushed and breaths short , carefree laughter pouring into the cracks and divots of the castle floors . they are eternal , immortal , indestructible ; a band of makeshift brothers closer than their own flesh and blood . they sell their souls for FIVE GALLEONS ! someone’s bound to buy them ! they don’t look him in the eyes when he does ; just say THANK YOU and come again ! perhaps next time they can sell him that third eye they have lying around .
boy mortal . a demigod bleeding out ( * see : ichor spilled careless across ephemeral flesh , melted silver coins glinting in sweet sunlight , hauntings of a different breed ) on twilight pavement . he can taste the last of the cosmos in his mouth , fleeting like he kissed the whole universe before saying GOODBYE . the night lingers within him and tangles through broken ribs . there is no end and no beginning , AMARANTHINE where the earth is transient . he has watched heavenly bodies strangle themselves in the darkest corners of the evening , burst into nothing and everything all at once . he holds stars between his teeth , lets them dance down mortal flesh . the sky shatters at his feet and he comes to find the universe is no bigger than a common house cat .
WHO is Glenda Chittock?
( an introduction to a being with thunder in her bones and quiet optimism in her heart ) ( c )
YOUTH Ironically, Glenda Chittock is not born on a day where the world rages, but on a calm summer morning, when everything is pristine and fragile. She, however, turns out to be everything but that; even at a young age, Glenda is loud and passionate and brash, someone much more similar to a storm than a quiet summer day. Her mother leaves when she is three. Glenda and her older sister are left with their dad, who is a wonderful man – yes – but one with a broken heart, an absent one. After all, there are too many bills to be paid and in order to take care of his kids, he has to make many hours at his job, which doesn’t pay much in the first place. Caroline, her sister, and Glenda see very little of him after school, and at one point even during weekends, and learn the importance of independence early on. This is never met with resentment, however: the two of them are always told, by neighbours and family members, that their father was working this much for them. And so Glenda grows up, without a mother and with an absent father. The neighbourhood she lives in is a bad one: there are drugs and crime and poverty and general unhappiness.This is where Glenda learns that being fragile is no way to be. Her grief about her mother leaving turns into anger, her sadness about not seeing her father much turns into acceptance. She becomes a person with a back curled with pride and all her insecurities and fears locked in a corner of her heart.
HOGWARTS. Strange things happen, as they tend to with muggleborns. Glenda laughs about them, thinks them part of her hectic every day life, rather than something that’s actually quite serious. But then, when she turns eleven on 23rd of July, she is told the truth. Glenda Chittock is not only a scholar who gets in more trouble than is good, is not only someone who minds little when her knees get dirty or scabbed, not only someone who once stole a Rolling Stones cassette tape that she hides in her pillow, but she is also a WITCH. When she finds out, her first reaction is to laugh, but she knows it’s true when her laugh dies out and things turned quiet. She leaves for hogwarts a little over a month later and cries when she says goodbye to her sister. Sorted into ravenclaw for her streetsmart ways and creative potential, Glenda flourishes. She finds skills in things she never expected herself to be good at — herbology, for example, soon becomes her favourite subject — and she even joins the quidditch team in her fifth year. Glenda grows passionate about human rights as she gets older, too; she reads about house elves, so-called ‘half-breeds’ and muggle discrimination at hogwarts and about racism, sexism and queerphobia in the library at home ( a place she hadn’t stepped foot in before she turned fourteen ).
POST HOGWARTS. Glenda gains a job at the Wireless Wizarding Network when she gets out of hogwarts, where she soon ends up talking on the air. Her fast mouth and quick wit make her suitable for radio, where it’s only your voice that leads. While a war rages around her, she speaks her mind on the radio and creates a career path for herself that’s more successful than she had ever expected. After just a little under a year, Glenda becomes the host of her own show — she’s young, they say, carries the voice of a future generation, and she beams with pride the first time she introduces Witching Hour. Besides her work, Glenda has become increasingly interested in human rights. As a pacifist and someone who does not believe in violence and fighting it with more, she has not joined any rebellion groups, even if she fully support their cause. No, Glenda wants to play her own role in this war, and in a way that suits her ideals. She has become unapologetic: she is half black, she is a muggleborn, she is queer and she will fight anyone who does not approve. She has taken it upon herself to learn and speak about human rights, as now is the time to speak up. Glenda Chittock is a STORM, someone who is loud and impossible to ignore and she will stop at nothing to see her goals reached.

WHO is Bellatrix Lestrange?
( an introduction to the mad woman who is not yet mad ) ( c )
YOUTH. She is born in pitch-black darkness, in the middle of the night. Everything and everyone is asleep, sound and quiet but she wakes them all up. She screams, she cries, she kicks as her mother holds her and her father hides his disappointment. He had wanted a son. She grows up wearing expensive dresses, hearing night-stories that might seem sinister to a saner pair of parents, but are loved by her. She learns about loyalty once her sisters are born, and even as a child, she feels it’s her duty to protect them. She scabs her knees one day, running around the yard with one of her male cousins, and her parents are angry. Angry because she is not supposed to have knees that are scabbed, angry because she is a g i r l and girls are not supposed to run around the yard, messing up their hair and clothes and scabbing their knees.
HOGWARTS. She is sorted in Slytherin, but the hat took its time. A loyalty as strong as hers could fit a Hufflepuff, after all. However, she is determined to be sorted in Slytherin, and it is determination that gets her there. Her smiles and grace fit in perfectly, and she is admired, adored, perhaps. But she is still just a girl, and her male classmates know this very well. She lets people know that she is more, that perhaps every woman is, and respect grows, but it does not outside the castle walls. At home, she is still f r a i l, merely a woman —- and what is a woman compared to a man? An anger grows, slowly and silently, and it burns a hole in her stomach. It takes and it gives and take and gives and she allows it to grow and burn away. Her parents mention marriage for the first time when she is fifteen years old. She wishes to throw a vase at their head, but sits still, nodding in agreement in the way she is supposed to. She continues to be the bird in a beautiful cage, but the anger seems to swallow her now and she seems to have trouble containing it. She realises something, and it crashes down on her shoulders, breaks her back. She is an object. Something her parents show off, something to put in pretty things and teach pretty words. They only use her useless sides, her perfect sides even when there is potential in the more messy parts of her being. She has a fire they do not see, they do not want — they only want coldness, prim and proper.
POST HOGWARTS. Her anger has turned to fury. She is a raging storm, hidden in a calm exterior. She is bitter, but not sweet — her words are snapped, eyes narrowed, but she does not yell. She does not burst, she does not explode. Her anger is cold and in a way as perfect as everything else is about her, and she wonders why it doesn’t burn the castle down. She is fury, but she is not sure what to do with the cooped up anger just yet. She joins the Death Eaters, even though it’s not what’s expected of her. She climbs ranks and breaks expectations and has learned that being feminine doesn’t mean that she has to compromise her strength or her fire. She wears her anger as well as her red lipstick, destroys things with painted nails. She is constantly looking for opportunities. Opportunities that allow her to show that damned world that she is more than what they have seen, that her claws are sharp and that her words can sting and bite and that she is able to destruct. She is part of a warr that will let her destroy so much, but will in the end just destroy her.

STATS;
VANITY, EMMA: resembling NATHALIE KELLEY, the 23-year-old SLYTHERIN alumnus spends their days as an QUIDDITCH PLAYER. they are often described as PRECOCIOUS and FERVENT, but also ACRIMONIOUS and CONNIVING. a HALFBLOOD (SECRET), SHE finds HERSELF allied with NOBODY.
AESTHETIC;
freshly mowed grass, petrichor, potions, blood, knives, dark lipstick, mother, masquerade, quidditch, leather, vanilla.
BIOGRAPHY;
trigger warning: death, abuse, torture, etc.
When she was a child, all Emma ever dreamed of was one day becoming a quidditch star, to make her dreams come true and see her mother prouder than ever. Unfortunately, fate had another thing in store for the girl, it all started a year before Emma was born, her mother, Rosabella whom was married to Emmett Vanity, a shallow and self-centered man who truly wore his last name well out of an arrangement. Displeased with the whole ordeal, she was forced to travel with him to Bulgaria for their honeymoon. Of course, at the time, Bulgaria wasn’t quite the ideal place for a romantic getaway, but that was never the point. The honeymoon wasn’t intended for the two of them, but for a task of Emmett’s. In growing born, Rosabella would often make her way down to the muggle village and explore, mingle with the locals that knew the language. It wasn’t until she stumbled across a man at the marketplace that her life took a turn. Never before had a man looked at her in such a way, treated her with such kindness, such a high regard, yet here he was. A muggle, nonetheless, but she could care less, such things never bothered her. Finding a brief happiness for the time she was there, she gave herself to him on the last night. Promising to find her way back to him somehow, she left and that was the last time she laid eyes on Stefan.
A day or two after the newly married Vanity’s returned home, they were tucked away in their own bedroom, as the biggest part of marriage in pureblood society was in birthing an heir. Despite this, without Emmett’s knowing, Rosabella always used a charm to prevent any child from being born, so it came as a shock to her when she’d discovered herself to be just that a few weeks later. Her thoughts going back to the final night in Sofia, Bulgaria, causing a faint smile to decorate her expression, could it be? Quickly making her way down to Emmett’s study, she told him of the news, ecstatic for the first time in a while, her husband looked at her with a new look in his eyes, as if she’d no longer been just an object. Not that it mattered much to her, she didn’t love him, nor could she ever. She knew far too much, and even then, he was the one that fought for it to be the two of them at the altar, which she hadn’t quite understood. Perhaps it was due to them being compatibly attractive, or something else.
Nine months later, she gave birth to a beautiful baby girl with a charm that was undeniable by both parents. Finding it in her to be more open to their marriage, Rosabella made a promise to herself to make certain their beautiful baby, Emma had two loving parents that would cherish her and bring her into the world right. Throughout her childhood, Emma was treated just like any pureblood child would be, two parents that adored her and most everything she ever wanted, but even then, unlike some, she was incredibly grateful for it all. A true gift, and Rosabella couldn’t have been more happy with it all, and while Emmett was at work, she’d often tell stories to Emma about muggles and how they aren’t quite as bad as most make them out to be, and with that, she learned behind closed doors how not to hate them.
It wasn’t until Emmett’s brother returned into his life that things started to take a drastic turn for the worst. It was a month before her second year at Hogwarts when she saw him, slipping into the room, that room she was never allowed to enter. How she’d always been more than curious about what lie beyond those grand doors, she slowly made her way over and let her curiosities get the better of her. Leaning against the door, she heard whispers of the war and the one who’s name shall never be mentioned, at least that was what mother always said and Emma never had it in her to go against the word of her mother, her best friend.
After the tragic death of the person she loved most of all, her mother, the person that kept her head straight and made her world a little bit lighter even with all the darkness surrounding her, she became darker and more confused than ever. It wasn’t until she stumbled upon a piece of parchment tucked away in a box labelled with her name, that her mind became set, changed. See, Emma was not pure, despite what her father believed, and all those surrounding her. She was in fact, a half blood. Her mother had been unfaithful to the man she came to know as her father, someone she believed all her life to be nothing less. Now, while most would believe finding the truth out would lead to her hatred shifting towards her mother, it didn’t. Her mother was still of utmost importance, and she knew why it was kept a secret and why it had to remain one. Burning the letter, and all proof connected to this one secret that could be the cause of her demise, Emma swore she would avenge the death of her mother, and those like her. So, she went to live with her uncle.
Her uncle was a ruthless man, who conveyed little to no emotion, if one were ever to slip in it, it would be fury, something he was never discreet about. Using her time away from Hogwarts to learn his way and become nothing short of a cold, manipulative, and twisted little thing. She also learned secrets, secrets that would help her do what her mind was set on doing. A lot for someone at the age of 14 to decide, perhaps, though she wasn’t living in a world of an ordinary 14 year old.
Finally years later, she was near as dedicated to her cause as her uncle, if not as ruthless, more so. More vengeful too. Using her skills and connections, she quickly found herself becoming closer to the future death eaters she wished to destroy. Forming bonds that one would never believe she had wished to break.
So, in short, Emma has no plans of becoming either for she has and never will be on either side. After she seeks her revenge and is satisfied, Emma plans on going into hiding, somewhere far away from the wizarding world.
BIOGRAPHY
Thoughts on the war :
Peter is the kind of person that believes in love, not war and so he is mostly neutral during the war. This doesn’t mean he doesn’t have a side that he leans more toward, he definitely hates the Death Eaters. If it came down to it, Peter would stand side by side with those fighting against them, but he’s doing his best to stay away from it. Instead he, and his band hope to warm the hearts of wizards and witches alike with their music as opposed to promoting a side of war.
Personality :
Something that can be said as we dive into the personality of Peter Pettigrew is that he wasn’t always a coward. He wasn’t always the person we know him as today. The marauders themselves wouldn’t have befriended him, or anyone if they were greeted to him in such a light. This much we all must know. There was a time in his life, where Peter believed himself to be the slightest bit brave. He like any other would play with his friends until his parents called him in, run around getting his knees dirty. He believed in himself, and even thought that one day he’d make something out of himself. Be a better person than his father was.
Growing up, Peter even found himself siding with those that were neutral. Sure, he had his views on the war but he preferred to stick with the things he found himself passionate about, that being music. He knew if it came down to it, that he would side with his friends or at least that’s what he’d convinced himself of.
Character Biography :
To anyone that knew them, Alexander and Ella Pettigrew seemed like the perfect couple, Hogwarts sweethearts. And they were, they became engaged only weeks after they both had graduated Hogwarts and were married before the summer end. The honeymoon went smoothly too, it wasn’t until halfway through the first year of their marriage that Ella began to reveal her true colors, and motives. Deep down she was a cruel and vindictive woman, spending more nights than not abusing her husband in the harshest of ways, both mentally and physically, but no one else had suspected a thing. So, it was easy for her to get away with it, no one ever suspects the wife regardless. Unfortunately, Alexander was born a man of tradition and had no way out either as not only did he still love his wife, but he didn’t believe in divorce.
A year into their marriage, Ella became pregnant with her first child, Nirvana. She mellowed down some, and wasn’t as cruel toward her husband while she carried the child much to his pleasant surprise. Once she was born, the little girl became the light of both of their lives. They seemed genuinely happy again, that changed quickly however when Ella lost her job due to the pregnancy. She blamed Alexander and in doing so, took her hatred out on him once more. Still, around Nirvanathey came off as the two most loving parents.
A couple years down the road, she fell pregnant again, this time she wasn’t as thrilled when her second child was born. She treated him poorly, often abandoning and neglecting the poor boy while all her affection was redirected toward her beloved Nirvana. In doing so, Peter became the type to always act out. He was a real troublemaker, this led to him one-night stumbling across his parents in the middle of an argument and he watched every last second, he watched as his mother turned around and showed herself for the true monster she was. This caused Peter to lash out, barge in and hope to protect his father but he had no such luck. Peter began to be treated in the same way his father was, saved only by someone close by, a neighbor overhearing the cries of the young boy.
After the story was reported, the truth of his mother was unveiled and Alexander and Peter were freed, Nirvana eventually learned the truth. Both shocked and horrified by it all, she couldn’t even look at Ella as she was escorted out of the house and to Azkaban. A year down the road, Alexander met someone else, the loveliest lady, Christine. Everything seemed normal now, they had a loving mother figure and their father was happy. What could make the family happier? A year after Alexander had met Christine, she fell pregnant and they eventually married. However, Peter was thrilled to have another sibling, that excitement quickly left when the child was born and he quickly became the abandoned one once more, it was as if he was just there when he was acting out or making trouble. Finally, at age 11, Peter was more than thrilled and ready to start at Hogwarts.
Peter fit in right away, making plenty of friends. Within a few years, he had formed a small group of trouble maker friends, Sirius Black, James Potter and Remus Lupin.
