"No." It was almost impressive how quickly she had a knife pointed at Orin's hand, really. "Do not touch my head."
Just how strong is your tail? Can you, for instance, open and close doors with it? Can you carry heavy loads at all? Can it be used to grab things in general? Finally, does it cause you any particular discomfort if someone grabs it without pulling or anything else?
"Not very strong at all. It cannot open doors, nor carry things much at all. The basket is at the upper limit of it's strength. And it is not uncomfortable to me for someone to touch my tail, but I refuse to let most people touch it anyways."
The Jeweled Pagoda aside, what kinds of items are you most often requested to locate? What single item have you had to find the most times?
"Nothing in particular, really. Even the jeweled pagoda isn't lost as often as people think."
So, Nazrin, assuming that it's someone close to you, do you enjoy gentle rubbing or patting like lots of beast youkai? Are there any spots (other than the obvious) that are off limits for affectionate rubbing?
"Of course not. I am not some beast ruled by physical instincts like that." She's lying, of course. She enjoys being patted on the head a bit, but if you touch her ears she'll hurt you. Inside of the Ears and all of the tail are off limits.
And the snake dissappears.

Well, it would have been useful against someone who wasn't prepared to ambush the gatekeeper with an ofuda in the first place. That was the plan in the first place: speak with bridge guard, get refused by guard, slap ofuda on guard, run past while guard was howling in pain/rage. Rude, but effective. Now if only she had bought two ofuda.... Nothing for it but to run for it!
Nazrin's just going to sneak across the bridge in the chaos. No point in putting up with a bridge guard if she doesn't have to.
She’s flustered and highly disgruntled, but that’s not going to stop her from leaving a watchdog in her place, you know?
Ah. How annoying. Luckily she prepared for this with an ofuda she purchased from the shrine maiden. She's just going to slap it on the snake's face and run for it.
Hina frowned as she flew over the woods, trying to get a grasp for the misfortune in the area. It moved quickly, but Hina was used to moving quickly as well. "Hello!" She shouted down towards the form she only caught glimpses of. "Could you slow down? I only want to talk!"
Nazrin glanced back at the voice calling her, sighing slightly as she did. "Can I help you with something?"
Well that hit close to home, Nue turned away from Nazrin refusing to meet her gaze.
"I, is it really that big of a deal?" Nue shuttered visibly, "It’s j,just laundry after all." Nue said trying as much to convince herself as anyone. "I don’t get it Nazrin, why can’t you let me have this? I mean, it’s LAUNDRY for hells sake."
"Yes, it's that big a deal! I want to trust you, I swear I do, but if you can't even be trusted with something like this...why should I bother? There's no point at all." Nazrin huffed in anger, trying to keep herself from exploding a second time.
"Have you MET ME? THE FIRST DAMN THING I DO TO EVERYONE IS LIE TO THEIR FACE!!! I’ve done it for centuries! Do you have any idea how hard that is of a habit to break?!?! WHY THE FUCK WOULD ANYONE EVEN WANT TO TRUST ME?"
"Because I thought, for some obviously stupid reason, that perhaps you really did want to be an accepted member of the temple. That maybe, just fucking maybe, you really did want to be a member of the family we have here, and that you weren't just using us for your own benefit! I actually fooled myself into thinking that you actually had turned over a new leaf, and that you were really trying to get along with the rest of the temple! And what do you do? The first time I ask you to do some small, meaningless task, you throw it back in my face with the same shitty little smile and bullshit explanation you always have!"
Tiny Nezumi stares at Nazrin, she's amazed that there is a mouse girl youkai who isn't tiny like her.
"...A youkai mouse, I would assume? Do you need something?"
"You know. I’d believe that, if it weren’t for the fact that even my having someone else do my laundry is apparently wrong. What’s the point in me being trustworthy when that seems to mean that I should have no freedom to go about things my own way? No, you don’t want me to be trustworthy, you want me to do everything in your narrow little way."
"Oh stop trying to feed me that 'you're oppressing my freedom' shit. You're just trying to worm sympathy, the same as usual. When I asked you to do your laundry, I expected some basic. fucking. respect. But no, the first damned thing you do is lie to my face, and go find some way to do the same thing you've been doing the entire time. If I can't trust you with something this small, how in Lord Bishamon's name can I trust you with anything? Or do you have some flowery fucking speech for that, too?"
"Really? That’s what’s got you so worked up? If a little thing like that is such a problem how do you plan to integrate Youkai with even weirder and less acceptable differences? Acting like that, you’re a bigger roadblock to Byakuren’s goal then I am."
"Yes 'that's what's got me so worked up'. If this was the first time, or even the fourth time I had spoken to you about this, there wouldn't be a problem, but every time I speak with you about this, you nod, agree, and DON'T DO A FUCKING THING ABOUT IT! How can I be expected to trust you on a larger level if you're so damn dedicated to lying and cheating on a minor issue like this!?"
