💔 My name is Nouran, I am 21 years old and a university student 🎓. Before the war, I lived with my family in a home filled with love, warmth, and safety 🏡🤍.

The war forced us to flee many times, and when we finally tried to return, we found our home reduced to rubble 🏚️. Along with our house, we lost our sense of security and stability.

Today, we struggle to meet our basic needs. My baby sister Nouna 👶🏻, only 6 months old, needs milk, diapers, and clothes, while little Naboula 🍫 dreams of a simple piece of chocolate that I often cannot afford.

🙏 We only hope for a chance to live with dignity and rebuild our lives. Any support or share of our story means the world to us. 🤍🕊️

🏳️‍🌈 Queer refugees in africa deserve safety, dignity and hope.

Every day, LGBTQ+ refugees and displaced people across east africa face rejection, discrimination, homelessness, violence, and lack of access to basic needs simply because of who they are. Many have fled conflict, family rejection, or persecution, only to continue struggling in silence.

Advocacy matters because queer refugees are human beings deserving of love, protection, healthcare, shelter, and community support not fear and isolation. Even small acts of solidarity can change someone’s life: • sharing their stories

• donating food, clothing, or emergency funds

• supporting safe spaces and mental health care

• speaking out against hate and discrimination

• amplifying LGBTQ+ African voices

To every queer refugee trying to survive and stay hopeful: you are valid, your identity matters, and you are not alone. 🌈

The world often overlooks LGBTQ+ refugees in East Africa, but we can choose compassion over silence. Let’s continue building communities rooted in kindness, safety and mutual support.
