Sera from Dragon AgeâŠ.. Thinkin about Thos BeesâŠ.
ah dang theyâve introduced the candidates for the new papacy idk who to choose guys
literally insane to me how sera's entire philosophy is "revolution doesnt have to be organized or even particularly coherent. all that matters is reminding the aristocracy they are mortal and the common people that their power is contingent on our compliance" and the game just completely fails to find it thought provoking at all in fact you as the player are expected to find it juvenile and baffling there is no way to even humor her in her beliefs without an added disclaimer that the inquisitor still finds it all ridiculous and isnt really taking her seriously
(via @5mcsinatrenchcoat)
Iâm glad as a fandom we are finally getting past the sera hate, she is not a horrible character she just had a shit writer.
Ironically Sera and Cole are the most similar in their beliefs and executions. People donât understand them until they explain but sera isnât given the same grace or understanding that Cole is. They both just want to help the people who need it no matter who they are.
Also if you say she doesnât want mages to be free thatâs false, she literally says when you ask her if they deserve freedom âwhat, of course. Just over there, away from me.â Because sheâs genuinely scared of magic. If you can forgive Cullen, Cassandra and Vivianne who all want the circles in tact then you can forgive sera. Just because weâve gotten to see cullens trauma doesnât mean sera doesnât have her own.
Sera is complex and flawed but so is every other character
I need to speak my truth

requested a cameo from gdl and asked him to make solas say 'fuck'. enjoy.
ROOK, PERHAPS IT IS TIME YOU STOP BEING SUCH A FUCKWIT
Iâm fucking wheezing! I wish someone could mod this into veilguard!
Hug tier list: (best living/humanoid hugs)
Best: Varric (father)
Davrin (warm firm)
Harding (excited, warm)
Neve (polite, extra squeeze, but also leave)
Lucanis (only good hugs when youâre sad, too awkward otherwise)
Emmrich (polite but a little boney, cold hands)
Solas (mid) (sad shelter dog type of hug: pick me, choose me, love me)
Bellara (too excited hurts you)
Worst: Taash (Carries you like a baby, squeezes too hard, runs like a furnace, accidentally crushes you) (worst but you would still happily die to hug them)
I will elaborate at the sign of any interest, my sister and I spent thirty minutes talking about this
@sensitive-shark
Dragon age veilguard hug tier list explained
Best: Varric (father)
- do I really have to explain? This man gives the best hug in thedas. Heâs hugged three of our protagonists and the warden is missing out on this! They are warm, strong and keep you tethered to reality! The epitome of comfort!
Davrin (warm firm)
- Look at that man! Weâve seen how Assan snuggles up to him! (I think we all want to do the same) he acts like he doesnât like hugs but we know heâs a liar when it comes to sappy stuff. His hugs engulf you in the best sense!
Harding (excited, warm)
- sheâs been around enough found families I know she has hugged nearly everyone in the inquisition at some point. (Maybe not solas obviously) sheâs small but her hugs just really make you feel loved!
Neve (polite, extra squeeze, but also leave)
- sheâs a bit distant and it leaves her hugs to be short but to make sure you know itâs not you sheâll give you an extra squeeze before she leaves!
Lucanis (only good hugs when youâre sad, too awkward otherwise)
- this man was in prison underwater for a year he donât remember how not to be weird about physical contact. Plus there is the chance of spite sniffing you and saying something off putting to lucanis. How ever if you are sad the awkwardness flies out the window and he is neck and neck with Harding. Youâd just feel cared for and loved!
Emmrich (polite but a little boney, cold hands)
- his hugs arenât bad by any means but if you also run cold donât expect his hugs to warm you up! Best to hug in the summer or the heat in general! He is thin so I think thatâs people might be scared to hurt him
Solas (mid) (sad shelter dog type of hug: pick me, choose me, love me)
- He donât know how to hug and I doubt he cares to learn. How ever he clearly needs one so itâs like when youâre trying to befriend a shelter dog. Give him some treats (cheese according to that one room in the lighthouse) take him out of his cage and give him a little time before hugging him. This man gets hugged he donât hug. But he does melt into a hug when he really cares for that person.
Bellara (too excited hurts you)
- Love Bellara but sheâs the type to jump at you and knock you to the floor with a hug. Sheâs the type to head butt you on accident! She squeezes too tight but is quick to apologize and try to make it better!
Worst: Taash (Carries you like a baby, squeezes too hard, runs like a furnace, accidentally crushes you) (worst but you would still happily die to hug them)
- Taashâs hugs are best after because while they are a bit smothering they are quick. Unless youâre injuries then they sling you over the shoulder. you might have bruised ribs by the end of their hugs but itâs Taash so youâd thank them!
Extremely funny to me how many of Davrins companion quests are some variation of âdo you want to go take a walkâ yes king I absolutely do thank you I love you
Rook, tripping off gingerwort truffle tea: What if ducks threw bread back at you?
Davrin, stone-cold sober: Youâd have to duck.
This question was on my final, I am not ashamed to admit the only reason I knew was because of growing up with dragon age and playing veilguard recently lmao.
Would emmrich be proud of why I knew this? No.
Would he be proud I knew it anyways? Yes.
Would he also be proud I got a 95% on my final? Double yes!
so i was able to get solas's banter with davrin....

"Smells like... Rook."
Spite says this when you reach the well in the Crossroads, the one that connects the Fade with the village in the Hossberg Wetlands. The despair demon that resides in the well is known for luring people with whispers/echoes of something they want, and then manipulating them to their doom.
SO does Spite's comment actually mean that the well demon has targeted him and Lucanis by imitating Rook's scent?
tbh davrinâs elven identity should have played a more crucial role in his quest with the griffons. idk how many of you have read the last flight, the novel where isseyaâs history and the blighting of the griffons is covered, but isseyaâs journals and thus the griffons were only found when an elven warden spotted the right things, and that was isseyaâs intention. she had hidden them behind a clue that referenced âone of the few great poems to be remembered through the oral traditions of the dalish and the alienagesâ
isseya, in the last of her right mindâher good, brilliant mindâdidnât trust the first warden of her time or the first warden of future times to make the right call about the griffonsâ fate. she did want it to be a warden, but an ordinary one with an eye for details, and i canât remember if she ever said why, but she wanted it to be one of her own people. (possibly she wanted it to be an elf who learned that garahel, the elf grey warden who ended the fourth blight, had a blood mage sister fighting alongside him? valya, who finds the journals, does grapple with whether that information should be shared or if itâs not worth tainting an elven heroâs legacy.)
my point is that itâs not only being a warden that legitimises davrinâs right to decide what becomes of the griffons, but also being an elf. this question and legacy were left, very specifically, to someone who is both of those things. that would have been a really interesting narrative thread to pick up on a little more, especially when one of the routes for the griffonsâ future is reliant on davrinâs dalishness and connection to arlathan
murat, dear, please shut up, cus saying "i can prove my skills to both of you right here" won't help you at all.
Warden "glittering brown eyes" Davrin
The second one is literally the definition of puppy eyes
