Misfortune Strikes
The archer had been in hiding for quite a while after a few of his last mercenary requests from various people ranging from suits to petty thugs wanting something, most of the tasks were not of difficulty and he knew that from the start but it was quick cash to stash aside to use for places to stay or for the occasional food he would purchase. Hanzo had found himself wearing one of his more casual attires as he roamed the a city in California, it was not often that he traveled around the United States but he had needed to get far away from his home and blend in with those who would not be familiar with his face.
From baggy pants, a zipped up hoodie and his hair pulled back in a loose bun was his comfort clothing for the day as he traveled the streets looking for where he would prefer eating. A hibachi restaurant had caught his eye as he quirked a brow at it, usually he would not prefer such location but it seemed to have a bar inside as well so he took his chances to go in.
He would take his seat after waiting for a short time, being closer to the bar to drink seemed to be the location he would be place being that he was only one person and that he requested a drink.
The bartender had questioned what drink he would want and a single word would be spoken in return. âSake.â Hanzo spoke in a matter of fact tone of voice, he did not care to expression much care or emotion, at least, not until he had a few drinks in his system to relax from the stress he had been bottling up for months without a single day to himself to fully wind down. Soon he had ordered some sushi to start off, relaxing slowly as music gently played across the speakers in the room.
It seemed rather empty for the evening.
@project-cerberus
Hanzoâs eyes instantly narrowed at Reaper once again as he had allowed Cerberus to fall to the floor as he stood in front of him suddenly, his teeth baring more up at him as he spoke to him like he had no idea what it was like to be different then others. âLike you, like him.. like me!â The dragon spat out at him once again as a hand rose up towards Reaperâs chest to shove him out of his face, the force being more then what it would of appeared to look. âDo not speak to me like I do not understand the suffering of being different, of being an out cast with no where to go. Your organization has tried for so long to force me in to use like like you would Cerberus!â
His brows furrowed as his nose scrunched up slowly, his nails becoming longer as they dug into his palms to relax himself when he suddenly noticed Cerberus breaking down behind Reaper. A small frown slipping across his face as he heard him tell them to stop, noticing his teeth and nails quickly as he went from Cerb to Reaper and back again to see what would happen. It was true, he did not know their relationship or what Reaper could actually be doing for the young man but he was still highly at fault for what he had done. âMm..â

Hanzo slowly started to turn his head towards the man when he started to talk but instantly sensed that someone else was very close, his grip tightening onto Cerberus as he was being pulled back by Reaper suddenly. He followed quickly so he could keep hold of him as he listened to the Reaper speak in his usual echoing tone of voice, his own eyes glowing that same bright blue as he watched carefully while narrowing them just a bit in response to the manâs question and remark. The dragon could tell he was angry though he was not sure if it was to both of them, nonetheless he tugged on Cerberus gently.
âYou do not own this boyâs life Reaper.â His voice almost sounding sarcastic towards him, he knew the manâs real name and was very tempted to state it but he bit his tongue for now. âHavenât you terrorists fooled enough innocent people into joining your little cult?â Hanzo spat at Reaper as he stepped forward quickly to placed both hands onto Cerberusâ sides to pull him towards himself only to reach one hand up to grip Reaperâs gloved hand roughly, pulling on it firmly to allow the man to open his mouth.
âYou try to fool this boy into doing your dirty work, to trick me into joining your people as well?? How many times now have you all tried to force me into it now? Were you going to tell Cerberus that you were using him, that he is just a pawn in your organization and if he doesnât do his work he will be killed? No. I doubt it..â His arm slowly had started to glow from under his sleeve, the blue dragon becoming visible as he bared his teeth at the taller man.
âRelease him, he is not your pet dog to command..â

The skies were growing dark as night slowly came to the quiet forest, wild life had slowly started to come out for their evening meals and not many people were out in the woods by themselves. Though, a rather slick but large canine like dragon had been zipping through branches quickly as wind was gently created as it passed by the animals roaming around. For a large creature it was rather quiet and graceful as it weaved throughout the forest as if it had done so many times, so many that it could go blind folded and still get around.
Though the peaceful night had come to a quick end as it rose up above the tree tops only to be greeted with a bullet flying towards itâs body just in time to hit a leg which cause him to spiral downward towards the forest once again with a ground rumbling thud that would echo throughout the woods, be it an accident or on purpose the dragon had been injured around a joint that caused severe pain.
Slowly the dragon would start to shrink down, smaller and smaller it went until itâs frame started to twist and form into something more humanoid. Due to being a magical being, it was able to keep itâs original clothing intact or even making it form back when they changed.
A low growl slipped out at the dragon had fully formed into a man, casual clothing was worn as he flipped around to sit upright to look at his leg which now had bullet wound going through it which he would curse under his breath while putting pressure on his wound. It was not long before the blood started to pour from the wound and slowly stain his pants, a low shaky sigh slipped out as he pat at his person to see if he had anything loose to wrap it up.
@needsmoreteaow
The dragon took the bottle and gauze quickly as he started to slowly clean off his hands and to stop the small wounds from bleeding, his eyes glanced up at the offer of a shower and he looked confused at first but went with it while offering a small smile at her gesture. Gently he cleaned off the wounds and placed the used gauze aside when he was finished using them, relaxing slowly against the couch now that he felt more safe to do so in his current condition.
âUnderstood.â He nodded a little before looking at her curious when she suddenly spoke what he was thinking, his brows going up as he seemed surprised for a moment before finally speaking. âI was just thinking the very same thing. I have been since you first noticed me and I saw your face, I feel we have met in the past?â Hanzoâs tone seemed to change from the serious and formal to more relaxed, a very curious undertone could be heard.
âThough I can not put my finger on it exactly, it must of been a long time ago.. I feel you were much younger?â The dragon worried instantly if that would sound wrong some how, his brows furrowing some as it showed on his face.

Hanzo would let out a soft sigh of relief once again as she finally managed to pull the bullet from his leg, glancing over at it once it was placed on the tray she brought over. His eyes trailing back towards her as she stitched his wound up after cleaning it off fully, nodding his head as he let out a content hum like noise as she spoke. He finally brought his hands up to look at them as he frowned slightly from how hard his claws hard dug in, glancing at her for a moment as she told him to rest.
âMay I have a cloth? Or the use of your water, my hands are dirty.â He spoke quietly as if he was ashamed of the mess he made, he was usually a very clean and well kept creature so anything that ruined his âbeautyâ was dishonorable to him and disgusting. âThank you again, you have done so much already.â
He would slowly bow towards her in respect to show his appreciation towards her kindness, a very small smile tried to tug itself across his face but he held it back for the time being. The more he spoke and watched the woman the more he knew deep down that they must of crossed paths before, her scent was even familiar but it must of been so long since he couldnât place it yet but hoped to learn more about her to see if anything puzzled together.

The archer quickly looked back at Cerberus as he gave a rather confused look before seeming annoyed as the man explained that he wasnât very aware of the plans at all, this only confirmed it that the man was nothing but another pawn in the organization. A low sigh slipped out as he kept pulling him along as the man spoke up about Reaper possibly watching them right now, he had mentally slapped himself some from frustration before relaxing some when the man mentioned his own name finally.
âCerberus, Iâll remember.â He paused for a moment as he felt something was off suddenly, like eyes were watching them but he couldnât tell exactly where it had been coming from so he kept an ear open for anything suspicious. Hanzo kept quiet for a moment as they walked past a few more darkened areas before going by an alley way, his brows furrowed some as the sensation became stronger like he had moments ago but he decided it was best to grip Cerberusâ arm while walking faster.
âI feel eyes on us.. move faster.â The dragon growled out softly yet quietly for Cerb to hear, knowing very well his sensitive hearing would be able to pick up on his soft speech. âI am sure your boss is around here as we speak, I can feel something near by but I do not know where just yet..â Bright blue eyes continued to glow as he looked around cautiously, preparing for a sneak attack at any moment in which he would lash out if need be.

Hanzo quirked a brow down at her when she continued to work on his leg while telling him to breathe, confused on why she would have to tell him to do so but he expected it must of been something she was used to with other people. His eyes slowly started to flicker between his dark amber colour and a bright blue as he bared his teeth from how long it was taking for her to dig around in his leg for the bullet, it stung and hurt but he remained silent as his nails pierced his palms by mistake.
The dragon let out a few soft sighs when he noticed she had managed to find the bullet, relieved as he watched her when she spoke up suddenly. His eyes had faded back to their original colour as he shook his head no, his brows furrowing some as he seemed frustrated. âDo not stop, no time to stop now when you have it. Just get it over with, the sooner the better.â Hanzo relaxed his hands for a moment as he hid the blood he could feel trickling down his palms, his body relaxing for a moment until she would start again.

âYouâve dealt with worse than being shot in the leg?â Hinoka questioned, setting to work as she doused a cotton ball with anti-septic, cleaning the skin around the wound as well as any debris to keep the area clean and sterile.Â
âYou know what, I donât think I want to know.â She added, gingerly turning his leg before making a soft noise. âNo exit wound.âÂ
âIt must have gotten lodged in the muscle.âÂ
The doctor seemed to have a habit of talking herself through her treatments, as she was entirely focused on Hanzoâs wound rather than the man himself. She hadnât even looked at him when she asked her questions. Another cotton ball was doused in numbing agent and held against the bullet wound while she reached for both a scalpel and forceps.Â
âIf you need something to bite down on or scream into, feel free to use one of the pillows. I have plenty.âÂ
With that said she checked her watch to give the agent time to work before she began pulling back skin to try and dig out said missing bullet.
Hanzo slowly looked down at her as she seemed to question him when he spoke but was quick to redraw her statement, tilting his head a bit at how dismissive she was about it but he decided it wasnât best to tell his life to a stranger even if she felt oddly familiar still. He seemed fascinated with how she spoke out loud about what was going on, not being used to receiving assistance for such a long time seemed to affect his curiosity.
A soft laugh slipped from his lips at the mention of biting down on a pillow from the pain let alone screaming, he shook his head and waved a hand dismissively at her to show it would be alright as he spoke. âDo not worry, I will not require said things.â Hanzo glanced down towards his leg when she finally started to work on it, his brows furrowing a bit at the sensation it brought and he bared his teeth some before relaxing so his fangs wouldnât be noticeable.
âMm..â His nails gently dug into his palms as he sat there watching her every move to see what she would do with the bullet that was lost inside of his leg, claws now forming as they dug into his palms from slight pain but not enough to say anything or jerk away from it. Hanzo made sure to not allow blood to be drawn from his own nails, from the fear of attracting attention to them since they were normally short and flat in his human form.

Hanzo would lean against the wall silently as he glanced around at the few people that were in the fast food joint to see if there were any wondering eyes, nothing had seemed out of the ordinary but it never stopped him from being cautious. His dark amber eyes would glance out the window a few times to see if a vehicle or a person acting strange was outside the building, nothing seemed to be happening which came to a surprise for the time being. He slowly pulled out his phone to look at the time to see how long it was taking the male to dispose of anything that might of been on his person, almost turning towards the door to open it only to hear the man mumble to himself with a flushing sound after.
He pushed himself off the wall as he waited patiently for the man to walk out of the bathroom, tilting his head when he saw him peeking out some. âOf course.â Hanzo spoke quietly and quickly with little to no expression on his face, shaking his head some as he turned to start walking only to glance back when the male started to seem tense. It was not hard for him to sense how nervous he was becoming from the whole situation and he let out a soft sigh as he held a hand up to motion for him to come along quickly, looking forward as he started walking towards the door to leave.
âCome quickly then.â The dragon had led him outside of the restaurant quickly as he looked around to see if anything had changed and when he was it was safe he grabbed the manâs wrist gently this time as he started directing him down the street, passing a few dark corners and with each one he would glance around with his eyes faintly glowing a blue hue to sense any danger. âDo you think your boss will be looking around here? He must be close, I doubt he would allow someone to wonder off out of sight so easily..â Hanzo seemed annoyed as he spoke, he never once liked how Talon operated with their people.

Hanzo would hold his leg up quickly for the woman to place the towels under his leg to keep the blood from getting anywhere, taking the water as he slowly took a few sips to quench his thirst as he watched her carefully. He was curious of what she was going to do and what equipment would be used to work on his leg, tilting his head as his amber eyes seemed focused.
âYes, it is Hanzo.â The dragon nodded his head a little as he grabbed at his pants to start pulling it up some for her, letting out a soft sigh as he wished for it to be over with quickly. âDo what you must, I will be fine. I have dealt with worse.â He bluntly stated as he seemed chill about it, closing his eyes as he seemed to wait for her to start the process of what she needed to do.

The dragon seemed curious at how kind the stranger was being to him, to even offer him something to eat to gain his strength back was more kindness then he was accustomed to seeing from humans. He had let another small smile creep across his face as they quietly continued to her home, his eyes trailing the area as the drew closer to the building. Hanzo was making a mental map in case he had to escape for some reason, it had not been the first time he has had to run away from a trap set for him or people not being so kind to a stranger like himself.
His eyes focused on the door as she opened it for them to both go inside, nodding in response to what she had said as he moved a bit to not put so much pressure on the female. Brows rose up as he looked at all the decorations in her home, it seemed to mesmerize the dragon for a moment in awe before he shook his head a bit as he would continue towards her couch to sit down. Quickly he would pull from her body to place himself down comfortably so she wouldnât have to continue practically carrying him, he was careful to keep his leg from touching anything too much so blood wouldnât spread anywhere too bad.
âThank you again for this, it is very kind of you to help a stranger in need.â

Hanzo looked back at him as he continued to pull the younger male by his wrist so he could take him into some sort of fast food joint to use their public bathroom, quiet for a moment as he contemplated exactly what the man could do after he had helped him. His words had worried him greatly though, knowing that Talon held his things as hostage for this exact kind of thing but it wasnât going to stop him now. Slowly shaking his head as he could still sense that Reaper was near by and most likely still observing them, listening in, but he did seem surprised that no action had been taken just yet.
Quickly he would open the door to a building and pull Cerberus in with him, with the two of them hurrying in with their outfits there was eyes on them instantly but Hanzo did not care as he located the bathroom for them. He would stop and finally let go of the manâs wrist as he motioned for him to go, crossing his arms some over his chest as he kept an eye on the door just in case someone would follow them.
âWe will figure it out soon, take care of business first so we can go. If itâs small enough, flush it to lose your location. Destroying it will only make it obvious on where you did it. Hurry.â The archer commanded as he stood near the door waiting for him to go in and do what he was directed, keeping an eye out the whole time just in case while also planning his next move.
