i've been working on a little mini project to test my art style and I think i can finally put into words why I struggle so much with rendering and painting.

as I've grown into my art style I've only leaned further and further into a line-art heavy style. like a lot of my pieces rely so heavily on their lineart. which isn't even really a bad thing! not to brag but I think I've got really good line work!

but it does mean that when i try and branch out, I find myself floundering without the "safety net" that is my linework. and I don't think i'm capable of painting without some kind of outline work. like i wouldn't even know where to start

#if anyone has tips or suggestions or tutorials they'd like to share #i would really like to hear them!#i'm trying to diversify my style but it's... so hard to branch away from what i'm good at doing
