All we wanted to do was steal some money

and since we were in a group and two of those people were drunk, it was just me and Cat Hair, lets call him. Cat Hair and I sneak into a shop and fail to steal any money. So we are kinda running from the shop owner and guards. Cat Hair and I climb onto the roof and the only thing to do is jump from this rooftop to the next without being seen by the guards. Easy peasy. I roll a natural 20 and easily get across, but then Cat Hair had to roll a 2. A TWO. He falls flat on his face off the roof. The guards caught him and he tried to talk his way out of getting arrested. I didn’t want to go with him and by now the dm was getting quite annoyed with us trying (and failing) to steal some money. He paid us to go back and stop stealing. And that’s how we were once so annoying we got paid to stop.
