AERION TARGARYEN'S ROMANTIC HEADCANONS.
Aame. Aerion Targaryen.
Nickname/s. None, unless you wish to call him a dragon.
Gender. Cisman.
Romantic orientation. Aromantic.
Sexual orientation. Bisexual / demisexual, with little qualms about gender. He hardly adheres to notions set forth by the Faith, nor do the conceptions of men sway him.
Preferred pet names. Maintains courtesy and formality even within the bounds of a relationship, especially if it is a political union. For himself, he prefers to be addressed as ser or my prince / my lord. He will utilise titles for his partner, as well, as befits their station. Anything overly sweet nauseates him, but with those he is fond of, he might slip in some Valyrian terms of endearment.
Relationship status. Verse Dependent. Canonically, he is married post 225 AC to his cousin Daenora, in a a political-platonic arrangement.
How ' romantic ' are they? In Aerion's mind, love is correlated to power and respect. He cannot indulge someone he does not respect, and he cannot respect someone he does not view as equal in power, and it is a rare happenstance that he acknowledges them as such. It can be that he forms relationships with those he views as โ lesser โ, but it would not yield a genuine attachment on his part; rather, a short-lived amusement. He cannot express love in the traditional sense โโโ if he is genuinely fond of someone, he can make the effort of an act. Really, he shows his own type of fondness in different ways.
Opinion on true love / Opinion on love at first sight. He doesn't experience love traditionally, so he does not believe in the materialisation of it. You have to be ready for the slowest of slowburns with him, at which point, after a decade of haunting each other and / or engaging in a psychosexual affair, he will have developed levels of hoarding & obsession not known to man or dragon, and he will feel entitled to the depths of your soul itself.
Ideal physical traits. Stemming from his constrained desire, he tends to gravitate toward [ generic ] superficial physical attraction โโโ beautiful women of noble birth, well-bred handsome knights, & heirs of great houses. That doesn't necessarily mean it's all he is attracted to, but it is the archetype he pursues regardless. If he is paying for the company, he will take pretty, polished paramours.
Ideal personality traits. He appreciates passion and a wit to match his own. Ambition, hunger, and a capacity for ruthlessness. As with most things for him, attraction is also largely a performance. He enjoys refinement, but he is equally, if not more so, attracted to brutishness and animality, unravelling the masque of court and indulging baser instinct, getting down and dirty in the literal sense, a partner with whom he can let the facade slip. [ especially in his return to court from exile, after he's had time to explore the world and feels freer to pursue his ends ]
Unattractive physical traits. It really depends. He would outwardly say he's not fond of โuglyโ traits [ by traditional Westerosi standards ], but he actually gravitates toward the unorthodox, so... ๐คทโโ๏ธ
Unattractive personality traits. Pride unproven by deed or excessive boasting turns him off, especially from those attempting to garner his favour. He possesses a very hierarchical worldview, and has little patience for fools of any station.
Do they have a type? Typically, albeit not strictly, older and in positions of power.
