I’ve been putting off entering contests for the longest time, I’m finally at the stage where I don’t mind looking bad in public :)
Bird Island by David Ramalho Via Flickr: Bird Island or "Look there at the mighty Poop Clif overlooking the ocean . 😋" Yesterday we went to - *gasp* - meet some friends who were in town. So we went to Howth, they had a plane to catch so it was close enough and with enough fish restaurants for a group of Portuguese people to be happy 😊 When they left my oldest asked - *double gasp* - if we could go to Ireland's Eye, because it's sometimes very very hard to drag them to these things we immediately jumped at the opportunity to do this with no dragging involved. It was cloudy with the occasional spell of sunshine, the seagull community was filled with younglings that sometimes you couldn't see until a seagull mom or dad would make polite low altitude flights over you to let you know you should turn back. The vegetation is gorgeous and lust and we hiked around to the other side of the island, which I never did. The whole place is gorgeous and there's a couple of really pretty hidden gems in there. Now, I did say the weather was cloudy and the temperature was cold enough that almost everyone was wearing coats, but not stubborn old David, the same that once he got home and took a shower looked at his arm and said "it's red, that's odd", and then looked at his other arm and THEN at his neck... Yes, I'm a half lobster man right now, I can't remember the last time I got burns like this , what an idiot 😂

Blue by David Ramalho Via Flickr: Ireland was made for road trips, you miss out on so much by not having a car and relying on public transports. So we rent a car every now and then and try to make up for things, this time we finally drove to Glendalough - last year we were close but there was just to many people so we turned back. Driving back to Dublin I stayed away from the major roads too and for a second thought I was back to Scotland. Just valleys, mountains and a single winding road. I loved it, I have really been missing out all these years living here.

Scotland Day #2 by David Ramalho Via Flickr: Day two of the Scotland Trip started early. The previous evening I found this very cool place with a great view of the mountains and I woke up early to try and catch the sun rising. When I got there I had no sun but quite a bit of rain, so I thought that was it for me, but because it was early and the rest of the troupe was sleeping I stayed for a little while longer and boy was I happy I did. Suddenly the clouds broke in the distance and this beautiful ray of sunshine came across . I did all I could to capture it as I saw it, truth is I don't have a bunch of experience with this type of settings, I'm always unsure what lens I should use and swap them around too much AND I was standing in a very wet marsh with no tripod trying to get reflections off the pond with my brand new camera, the mental image of me doing one of two colossal fu...Slip ups was with me the whole time. I didn't, and after 30 minutes, several attempts and enough rain to make me question myself I went back for my first Full Scottish breakfast 😋

Colm Roddy by David Ramalho Via Flickr: If you go by the Government Buildings Colm is a common sight as he's often around with his stack of signs protesting. Today I was going by with my camera and saw him there, to my own surprise, I asked him for permission to take his picture, which he allowed, I took the picture. This was different for me, I could have done more - I know his name because I came home and looked online, but I should have asked him directly - but still, baby steps.
