a friend provided me the realization that ghoul / lucy has strong xena / gabrielle energy in the mentor + mentee, long journey companion sort of way. where the self-loathing lone wolf is softened and the chipper, fish out of water becomes a little more rough around the edges. but they redefine their purpose while developing a deep care and respect for each other. not to mention every time the ghoul’s yodeling theme plays, i am instantly transported back to xwp lmao.
