im having so much trouble finding things to gif for febuwhump, there’s so many prompts left that i cant think of anything for, especially the dialogue ones seem impossible 😶

Maybe we should do a GIF-prompt/ Video/ art challenge? Like, specifically visual prompts? Could be for the writers too, but challenging to describe the visuals? Is that even possible?🤔

This is something that’s bothered me for a while but I couldn’t articulate it without sounding like a jerk because I too am a writer and I love whump writers and I love reading whump so much and I love all the prompt challenges but writing is not the only part of the whump community.

I often see new people in the community in dismay over whether they belong in the community or not because they don’t write. Every monthly prompt challenge is made with writers in mind and like you said, @thatsgonnaleaveamark, I too have seen whump called a writing community when it’s more than that. I’ve done Whumptober but each time has gotten harder and harder because the prompts are definitely for writing. The whump community is a multimedia community and sometimes I wish that wasn’t forgotten.

@whumpty-dumpty I think a monthly prompt challenge made specifically for visual creators would be amazing! And yes of course writers can do them too just like gifmakers/visual editors can do the writing prompts but having a prompt challenge made for us would be so nice. Instead of blanket dialogue prompts or tropes to could be like “share a scene where [blank] happens” or “where character says [blank]”. You could gif it or make and edit or post a video of the scene and it could inspire writers too. I don’t know. I think it’d be nice to do.

Okay I put it in the tags but I’mma just say it in a reblog for ease of reading shdfsj. But I definitely think that that’s a good idea! It’s the very reason I made this blog a few years back. If anyone ever does this definitely feel free to use prompts from this blog as well, they should all be tagged as ‘draw your whumpee’. I think a lot might work nicely for gifs and other media as well.
