An exclusive interview between me and the Daily Telegraph of London published today.
I was just looking over some of the personal posts on your blog and wanted to say how inspirational you are. I always talk about remaining fit as I age and you are living it! It is humbling that someone (arguably famous) would choose to follow my blog. Thank you again for your inspiration!
Thank you for saying I am inspirational- I don’t think that myself and I am definately not famous!
All I have done is to have developed, with my coach, a training and diet regime that has enabled me to change my body composition within the space of less than 3 years. Recently I have made small modifications to my training and diet and the results have been noteworthy. The sarcopenia (loss of muscle mass) has been reversed. As you know the body composition difference between a healthy 20 year-old and a healthy 80 year-old of the same weight is mainly that the 80 year-old has lost 50% of their muscle mass which has been replaced by fat. By removing fat and rebuilding muscle we can now give the 80 year-old almost the same body composition as they had in their youth. We cannot reverse the aging process but aging could soon be something completely different to that that is observed today. We are not talking about anti-aging but new aging. Through the action of muscles messenger substances are produced which increase hormone production. We know that testosterone and growth hormone (the youth hormone) are influenced by muscle action. People are starting to take notice and spread the message that we can all lead healthy and satisfying lives with only a tiny amount of effort through exercise, which is a natural everyday action.Keep working hard and GO FOR IT!Best Wishes,Charles
The Daily Pre-Workout “Tune Up” for Your Race Car (Your Body)
We all know race cars are finely tuned and heavily maintained machines. Your body should be treated the same. Let’s look at what a proper “tune up” looks like for the athlete seeking better performance.

As I have always said;
In Chicago in 1950,I traded my Chevrolet, list price 3000$, for an Oldsmobile 98, a magnificent beast, list price 5000$.
I asked the salesman- “what is the difference between the 2 cars?” He replied with 2 words: “More car!”
When you trade in your body for a new one, what do you get? More body, more mind and more spirit

Getting Older Doesn’t Mean You Can’t Compete
Does being in yours 30s and 40s mean your athletic performance has to decline? Not necessarily - science looks at duathlon competitors and baseball players and examines the facts.

I’m not chasing youthfulness. I’m chasing health.
I’m not chasing youthfulness. I’m chasing health. People have been brainwashed to think that after you’re 65, you’re finished. We’re told that old age is a continuous state of decline, and that we should stop working, slow down and prepare to die. I disagree.
A report on me on a UK blog.
fitforidfest:
Just to put into perspective.. If you were to eat ALL of that fruit, not only would you probably not be able to finish, you’d be full! You’d feel great because of the real food being put into your body. If you were to eat the fries, you would feel fat, bloated, tired, and NOT EVEN CLOSE to full. Think about what you put into your body
