[[ I AM THIS
What's the three easiest ways to make my muse happy according to your muse?
there are some people i see on my dash and i wanna rp with them so bad but i am just like
the beginning of the game is rly pretty too
[[oh yay! Amnesia!
((And to this day, no matter how many times mun plays Containment Breach, the guy screaming after you break his femur always freaks her out.
Really, it’s sad but terrifying at the same time.))
[[I will second this. That part always sent chills down my spine.
[[Your muse finds mine asleep at their desk. How does your muse wake mine?]] "S-.... Stephen.....?" Delphini gently shook the sleeping man's shoulder. "Stephen? wake up..." His voice was soft and concerned.
A small tired grumble left the sleeping man’s mouth and his eyes barely opened before slipping shut again. He looked like he hadn’t slept properly in quite sometime, the pen in his hand a testament to the work he was doing prior to practically passing out.
After a moment of only LaFleur’s breathing breaking the silence his eyes opened again, more this time, as he struggled to wake up. “Hmm? Wha-?…” His gaze seemed disoriented as he yawned and looked around his office. When he lifted his head from his desk a small post-it note was stuck to his cheek. “Adrian? Why are you…” He was interrupted by another yawn “here?”
"Y-You should really go to bed, Stephen..." He mumbled, resting his hand on the larger man's shoulder. "It's not healthy to overwork yourself like this..."
Adrian looked genuinely concerned. Perhaps it was his psychology background speaking. Maybe it was that twisting feeling in the pit of his stomach that made him care about the french researcher's well-being.
Whatever it was, he wasn't just going to let him push himself to the brink of overwork.
[Your muse accidentally makes mine cry. What do they do?] (here's LaFleur's process) Stop speaking. Look for a second. Apologize profusely. Hug. Shut down. Depression (cause he made the boo cry)
[[Delphini's exact reaction to that:
Your muse accidentally makes mine cry. What do they do?
Send 3 questions. The character will answer 2. The mun will answer 1.
"Did you use my computer?"
LaFleur had been at his desk, working on replacing some hardware in his computer when the shy, smaller doctor had asked the question. And he had to stop and think. He was doing a lot of maintenance on the computers at the foundation, so there was a very good chance that he had indeed used the other man’s computer. But surely Delphini wouldn’t have noticed useless files and malware being taken care of.
His hands had stilled inside the case, fingers resting just on top of the cpu fan he’d replaced. “I don’t believe so, mon ami.” His tone still held some questioning. Maybe he had used it, but if he did, what did he use it for?
There were so many possibilities, but he couldn’t, for the life of him, remember. He could have been doing so many things. Coding and cleaning up the system were highest on that list. But he also could have been writing.
Oh god… The thought of leaving something embarrassing came to his mind. Had he written a poem on the other man’s computer and just left it there? If he did was it a love poem? Oh god, please no. He took a breath and looked at Delphini. “Why? Is something wrong with it?”
He had started to bite his lip, and though it pained him he continued to bite it until little droplets of blood began to well up.
"Yes… aren’t dolphins just… amazing?"
This seemed to ignite a spark deep within the man’s chest. Few things really piqued his interests (rants aside) enough to thoroughly engage him in such a conversation. Dolphins were one of those few things. He loved them.
"They’re just so carefree… I mean, they have anything else to do, they have an entire ocean available to them, and yet the choose to come and interact with people…" Delphini sighed happily.
Don’t scare him off.
Delphini grabbed his lower lip in his teeth and lowered his eyes, as if apologizing for getting overly excited. He mustn’t forget to contain himself. LaFleur probably didn’t care anyways.
This was exactly what he had wanted. A conversation that would show Delphini’s true colors. A conversation about something the man loved, something that brought him joy. He’d found that dolphins were one of these things.
"Ils sont vraiment étonnants." His body was humming with excitement. All over finding a topic that he and Delphini could converse about.
"I think I find some of their traits very relatable. Wouldn’t you agree?" He took in a breath and looked at the shy man. "Just the fact that they show so much care for those in their pod that are sick or injured or growing old is something you don’t see from most other species."
He knew looking up random facts about things would come in handy one day. All those dolphin facts he’d found were finally getting some use. Good use in his eyes, since it was making the shy scientist smile. He had such a brilliant smile, too.
Delphini gave a legitimately happy smile and nodded, sitting up a little straighter.
"and-- and how they can tell one another apart simply by identifying each other's dorsal fins..." He nodded a little, offering another small chuckle. "They are very human-like. It's truly amazing."
Is this actually happening? He thought. Am I actually having a conversation with him?
Adrian noticed how happy Stephen seemed. Could he really be the source of this? It seemed so unlikely that anyone would be so eager to talk to him, and yet here was this perfect man, itching to hear whatever Delphini had to say.
It seemed so surreal.
"Did you use my computer?"
LaFleur had been at his desk, working on replacing some hardware in his computer when the shy, smaller doctor had asked the question. And he had to stop and think. He had started to bite his lip, and though it pained him he continued to bite it until little droplets of blood began to well up.
He was polite to say the least. Delphini’s eyes followed his motion to the chair and took the offer to sit, shyly letting himself sink into the seat. LaFleur hadn’t come off as the type who cared much about art. He was the computer guy, that’s how he was known. But Adrian would never pass up an opportunity to discuss his sketches.
"I really like to draw f-fish…" He said, looking at the larger man with a glimmer of happiness. "I like to draw a lot of things, but I tend to draw fish a lot. And dolphins. I really like dolphins."
A shy little chuckle escaped Delphi’s lips as he looked at his lap. That was it. The mere thought of dolphins filled him with that feeling of looking at baby animals. He crossed his legs and pinned his hands between them in an attempt to keep them from fidgeting.
Don’t ramble, Adrian. He’ll just find you annoying. It was an understatement to say that Delphi was self-conscious. But if he worried about annoying anyone, it was LaFleur. The las thing he wanted was to push him away with rambling.
LaFleur sat as the other was talking, and that little glimmer of happiness took his breath away. That chuckle too, it was like the sweetest sound he’d ever heard. It made his heart beat faster and slower at the same time. There was just something about this man that made him feel so many things.
"I like some fish. Mostly exotic fish, because they’re so beautiful. Dolphins too, because they’re so intelligent and very majestic." His smile was reaching his eyes now, making them light up.
A soft, happy little huff left him and he looked at the shy man sitting across from him. Waiting for him to continue speaking, looking almost excited.
"Yes... aren't dolphins just... amazing?"
This seemed to ignite a spark deep within the man's chest. Few things really piqued his interests (rants aside) enough to thoroughly engage him in such a conversation. Dolphins were one of those few things. He loved them.

[[Goodness! Haha I wasn't expecting such a response to this meme! Thanks for the interest, all you lovelies! I'll post answers for Delphini under the cut :) If any of you want these answered for myself, just let me know

He had started to bite his lip, and though it pained him he continued to bite it until little droplets of blood began to well up.
Delphini had begun to turn and leave, but by some miracle, over the sound of his pounding heart he managed to hear LaFleur’s call to stay.
"I… I really don’t want to be a bother…" The smaller scientist muttered. Had he spoke it or had he thought it? It was hard to be sure, it was spoken so softly.
Adrian glanced over his shoulder, his sheepish eyes surveying the other man. He couldn’t possibly want me to stay, was the only thought that crossed his mind. Surely he’s just being polite.
A shaky hand motioned to the computer, with the numerous parts that Delphi hadn’t a hope of knowing by name scattered about as LaFleur worked on it.
"Clearly you have your hands full."
He suddenly felt an odd connection to that gutted computer. Its like a summary metaphor of my life right now, He pondered, a light blush staining his cheeks.
"You wouldn’t be a bother." The taller of the two somehow managed to not shout this. "J’aimerais en fait si vous avez séjourné." He’d managed to stop biting his lip while he spoke. And now that he wasn’t chewing on it he could taste the blood.
He felt he didn’t have the time to worry about it too much so he licked the blood away again. For some reason he felt the need to have the other man stay, if only for a few more minutes. It could have been because he and Delphini hardly ever spoke. It could also have been because he liked to watch the shorter man’s lips move when he spoke. Oh, how I’d like to just kiss those lips…
He had to shake his head when his thoughts began to bring a soft blush to his cheeks. He could tell he looked almost desperate, with his brows furrowing ever so slightly. But he couldn’t help it. “I’m honestly not busy…and I’d love to talk. About whatever you wanted to talk about.” He had moved his hands a bit as if to show how much he wanted Delphini to stay, but it honestly was only spastic little movements.
Adrian drew in a gentle, shaky breath. Why is he being so persistant…?
He fiddled with his fingers, giving the larger man a tentative glance before offering a tiny nod. “o-okay… I suppose I can stay…”
Adrian, you’re letting your heart talk for you again. He fidgeted a little as he walked towards LaFleur.
There it was again, that charm that seemed to draw Delphini towards him. He both hated it and loved it, unsure of which feeling was stronger. Regardless, he didn’t like how it seemed to control him, to make him lose any and all control of his logical way of thinking. Staying and talking to this beautiful man was far from logical, but there was no arguing with his heart when it got to thinking.
To say Stephen was happy would be an understatement. The man was positively elated about Delphini staying. A smile stretched his lips and he was sure he looked like a fool. But really, he couldn’t find it in himself to care. He’d been getting into one of those moods and it always seemed like the shorter scientist was the only person able to pull him out before it was too late.
"Thank you… I get lonely sometimes so it’s nice to have someone to talk to." Especially when that someone is as adorable as you. He stayed standing, casting only a single glance at the computer before he closed the case. Whatever he was doing with it could wait for later. Right now he was determined to have a nice conversation with Delphini. Determined to get the man to talk about something that made those marvelous eyes of his light up.
"I was also starting to feel a little down, but I think I’m feeling alright now."
"that’s good, that you’re feeling better…" Delphi let the smallest of smiles tug at his lips. He was genuinely pleased to hear that Stephen had begun to feel better; He had seen the poor man in one of his down moods once before and it hurt him deep in his chest.
if chatting with him is keeping him from plummeting into another down phase, I’ll gladly stay and speak with him. he cocked his head to the side the slightest bit, watching LaFleur and trying to think of something, anything at all to speak about without coming off as annoying. If he had said so sooner, I wouldn’t have been so reluctant…
Adrian searched his mind, deciding to try to keep things relevant to the situation at hand. Speaking softly, the smaller man crossed his arms in an action that came off a little more protective than he meant.
Seeing just that small hint of a smile made his heart soar and flutter. It was so rare to see the other man smile, he always seemed to be guarding his emotions for some reason.
"J’aime beaucoup quand vous souriez." He made sure to speak in French, lest he turn an embarrassed shade of red. The other man didn’t need to know how much he liked to see him smile. He also didn’t need to know how much it brightened Stephen’s day when they were able to talk. Even if their conversation was about art, something he knew nothing about, it would make his day at least a million times better.
Maybe that’s what he should spur a conversation about. Seeing as the other man was so into it. “Have you been sketching lately?” He’d hoped it wouldn’t seem like he was trying to pry. That was the last thing he wanted. All he really wanted out of this talk they were having, was to see those brilliant blue eyes light up. Those eyes that seemed to go different shades of blue in different lighting. You’re staring.
Adrian caught the other’s stare and blushed, his gaze shyly dropping to the ground. Is he staring at my eyes? He saw no reason in this; they were just average eyes, weren’t they? The only person to think otherwise was—
No, he refused to think of that. Nothing was going to change the past and it was foolish to hope he could.
"Yeah, I’ve been sketching a l-lot, recently…" He said before raising his eyes to look at the man before him. This seemed to spark a slightly larger smile. Adrian could talk for hours about art; it was his life. It was his only means of self-expression since that day.
And there it was. A slightly bigger smile, maybe the hint of a glimmer in those gorgeous blue pools. Just those tiny actions made Stephen feel like he could take on the world. Even he had smiled brighter at the sight of it.
"Is there something you like sketching more than anything else?" The question came so easily once he knew the other would talk. He didn’t feel like he was on the edge of a cliff anymore, didn’t feel like one misused word would send him tumbling off.
He made a point to motion to a chair, a silent offering to sit, should the other want to. LaFleur himself would wait to sit, thinking it the kind thing to do.
He was polite to say the least. Delphini's eyes followed his motion to the chair and took the offer to sit, shyly letting himself sink into the seat.
