We didn’t make it through, though I know some of you did your best and voted non-stop (we still ended with 39.4%).

I know we’re upset, but let’s look on the bright side, shall we? Ian and Mickey were the only couple in a Showtime show even nominated (as far as I remember) and we managed to be on the top 16 - you can bet I’m going to boast about that! Of course we all wanted to go further, but that we got this far was already impressive, especially considering how many people left the fandom because of what happened in the end of season 5 and during season 6 - and that a lot of other people are still angry and sad about season 7.
I do think the system used in the poll is a a bit unfair, as it pitches fandoms against each other, but I’m pretty sure that’s what they want, so nothing we can do about that. It did make me particularly upset to see them go against another gay couple, when there weren’t that many to start with. Also, unless a miracle happens and they decided to put Ian and Mickey together once more, we won’t be able to nominate them again next year. :(
Anyway, like I said, let’s see the good in it and brag to everyone about our OTP being one of the top 16 of all TV!
