never too late to do better
Some truths:
There are a lot of ways to do everything, more than you were ever taught
Most people don’t actually know what they’re doing
Opportunities exist now that didn’t exist 10, 5, 1 year ago. That alone changes what’s possible for you
You have to unlearn half the things you were raised to believe
Confidence isn’t knowing you’re right, it’s trusting yourself even when you’re not sure
Most limits aren’t real. They’re inherited
Overnight success is someone finally being seen for work they’ve been doing quietly for years
Your life changes the second you stop asking for permission
The world rewards people who try more than people who overthink
You don’t need to be fully healed to build a beautiful life
Most of the rules you follow were created by people no smarter than you
You’re not behind. You’re just comparing your beginning to someone else’s middle
Who you become matters more than the plan you start with
You can outgrow an entire identity in one year
Your future is built by the decisions you make in private
You become who you surround yourself with
Most people settle because they confuse comfort with safety
Your standards aren’t too much, they’re filters
If it scares you, it’s probably aligned. If it drains you, it’s probably not
Reinvention is always an option. You can start again as many times as you need
Your potential doesn’t disappear, it waits
Friendly reminder that the way you talk to yourself rewires your body and it's proven by neuroscience. When you talk to yourself (out loud or silently) you’re sending signals through your nervous system. Every thought you have creates a biochemical reaction. Negative self talk increases cortisol and activates your amygdala (danger zone). Positive self talk activates your prefrontal cortex (logic) increases GABA and serotonin and tells your entire body that you’re safe
I love aspirational talk and aspirational actions that don’t fit entirely with one’s current conception of self but are guiding you and paving way into a new one. Because you should change conceptions as easily as clothes if they’re not helping you be who you’d like to be. I love dreams and those who have the nerve to take their desires seriously. If desire is evidence of the reality I seek to embody then I’d say that the architecture taste fragrance form and frequency of my wishes are signs pointing towards the same thing; Experiences that my soul-persona wishes to experience here in this lifetime. And I take it seriously no matter what comes in or out of style around me. People flow through tall cities like in waves. I try to do what it takes to go within and rearrange my Interiors whenever I am cultivating poisoned flowers because this is a responding world. I’ve noticed an impulse to cut desires off at the root or accept them only in their secondary and diluted form, cut the leaves and cut the flower, but it’s always nice to remember that there are no conditions to be met in order to be who I am and to claim all that I want as mine
I love when the book I’m reading validates me
Warm thoughts before bed 🧸✨
Okay so lately I have taken up the habit of asking myself what the warmest or best part of my day was and I think about it over and over right before going to sleep
When you are about to fall asleep, your brain shifts into slower brainwave states moving from beta (alert, problem solving) into alpha and then into theta and delta waves which are the states where your brain becomes very impressionable. It’s when your subconscious, the part of your mind that holds your patterns, beliefs and emotional defaults opens up
So when you focus on a warm moment before sleep, your body moves out of stress mode & into a parasympathetic state, which lowers cortisol, relaxes your nervous system and helps you sleep better. Ultimately, it retrains your mind away from the natural negativity bias, teaching your brain to look for what’s good instead of what’s wrong. And little by little, this nightly habit rewires your self concept, replacing the old internal narrative of fear or lack with a deeper sense of connection, possibility and emotional safety. You wake up feeling really good too :)
This was suggested by my VA therapist for PTSD. I was skeptical, but I have to admit it helps. I have fewer night terrors, and seem to awaken more awake, not necessarily refreshed, when I do this.
WTH, do you have to lose, except for fewer memories, you can do without?
Thank you for sharing your experience @nervousstrangernut 🙏
The Last 30 days of the year reset ✨✨
The last month of the year is not about becoming a new you. It’s about becoming the version of yourself you were always meant to be. This is the time to edit, not add. Below are ten anchors for your final 30 days, practices you can weave in. They’re not tasks. They’re invitations to elevate how you live & feel through the last chapter of your year
1. Declutter your nervous system before your life
Slow mornings. Less phone. Sun. Grounding. Breath work. A regulated nervous system is the foundation of every habit, boundary and intention you set
2. Choose one physical habit and repeat it daily
Pick one thing, pilates, walking, red light, skincare routine and make it your signature for the next 30 days. Not to transform, but to anchor. Tiny discipline shapes the person you become
3. Clean your environment
Your space holds emotional residue. Use this month to release it. Clear your closet. Wipe down surfaces. Refresh your bathroom. Reset your kitchen. A messy environment an irregulated nervous system. A clean environment, as well as taking the time to move things around, shifts the energy in the room
4. Audit your relationships
Who brings out your softness? Who drains your ambition? Who feels like the future and who feels like the past? Release the people your next chapter won’t need, keeping you comfortable or are holding you back
5. Set your non negotiable five for the next 30 days
These are the habits your future self needs, not the habits your anxious self craves
Some examples: Morning sunlight A 10 minute walk One hour of focused work Journaling
6. Choose your next year identity now
Identity precedes outcomes, so write it down
“I am becoming a person who…”
Behavior flows from identity. Results flow from behavior. Become who you want to be at the identity level first
7. Do one thing every day that builds self trust
nothing changes your life like keeping promises to yourself. Even the smallest ones. Small integrity creates massive identity
8. Release what you don’t want to carry into the new year
The grudges self doubt comparison situationships fear of choosing yourself survival habits
9. Create a vision that feels like a memory
Describe your next year like it already happened, your mornings, your friendships, your home, your income, your routines, your sense of self. The brain filters your life through what you believe is coming
10. Treat these 30 days like a runway
You are not waiting for a date on a calendar to become who you want to be. These last 30 days are a soft transition into your next chapter. Walk into the new year aligned, regulated, clear and prepared

Life is so beautiful
You can have anything you want
Do anything you want
Be anyone you want
You don’t have to struggle
You just have to stop fighting the version of you who’s already living that life
The moment you stop choosing chaos, choosing drama, choosing people who drain you, choosing toxic relationships, making decisions based on your wounds, the moment you stop choosing stories that make you feel small, everything changes
Your life responds to who you believe you are. Your mind doesn’t even know how to distinguish real from make believe. But you can’t continue to entertain things the old version of you would
So believe bigger. Believe softer. Believe in the version of you who isn’t surviving but creating. You deserve it 💗

Hey someone suggested I use ChatGPT to figure out adulting today, and as I was going through the mental list of places I'd rather look, I realized "beloved strangers on Tumblr dot net" was on that list.
So if you have an aspect of adulting that you're really good at-taxes, budgeting, cooking, insurance, credit, time management, house upkeep, anything-please feel free to reblog with any tips.
Not me, but @bitchesgetriches has a lot of great resources for many of these topics on their website.

Being unhappy with your situation right now does not make you ungrateful for everything you have. You are allowed to strive for more, to want something different, to explore another direction. It is ok to crave change. It is ok to want something you have wanted for a very long time. It does not mean that you do not appreciate your life as it is. These two things can coexist - you can be very grateful with your life and still want something to change. It is never just black and white. Please do not be so hard on yourself, my love. You are working very hard and you do not need the pressure of having to be grateful and happy all the time. You are human. You are allowed to feel sad and lost. And you will find the life you are hoping for. I promise.
Man i needed this 🥲🥹
