so basically I did what I usually do with my alternate universes, and I took marc, steven, and jake { and emma } out of marvel, took away the superhero parts, and dropped them into a different world/universe.
so for this one, they're in the world of the fallout games, particularly/mostly fallout: new vegas, and I've created a whole story for them in that world.
knowing their whole lives that the world was on the brink of ending, and that emma { who they grew up with as neighbors, and childhood sweethearts } wouldn't survive unless they did something.
each of them had special skillsets. { steven is brilliant in sciences, and the world of medicine and psychology. marc is extremely good at building and constructing things and such. jake is very good with weapons and forms of defense. and so on. these are just examples, each of them have more. }
so they worked their asses off to learn everything they needed and gain skills they would require. and then built their own secret private vault which included cryogenic chambers.
they cryogenically froze emma and themselves knowing that it would be a long time before it'd be safe to wake up.
but their own chamber malfunctioned like 200 years in, and they were woken up in a pretty traumatic way.
emma's chamber remained functional.
so they end up leaving their vault to see just what they're up against in the wasteland a few days after waking and starting to recuperate.
and they happen upon Will, who had just woken up himself due to similar malfunction in an abandoned government base.
they take Will home -- well jake does { he and Will are always best friends slash partners in every universe } -- and they help Will get better and bond.
emma remains frozen until they know it's safe to wake her up. they don't even tell Will about her until the three of them can agree that they trust him.
which happens after marc and Will go back to the base where they found Will to see what happened to him and scavenge for supplies.

but yes, emma will be the main female character for a good portion in this series. { ronni and I have written emma and Will as ver close friends for years, he was actually one of emma's first friends when I created her, and before emma was with the moon boys, she was part of a poly with ronni's oc's Will and lilah }
lilah doesn't come into the story for a while. but she is typically Will's main partner // wife even though they're both polyamorous.
okay, that's enough rambling.
but yes, mostly fallout: new vegas based, where Will is the main protagonist of the game -- the courier. and I've taken marc, steven, and jake out of their canon marvel world -- no superpowers, no deities, etc. just them as their base characters while keeping things like randall dying, the abuse from marc's mother, and such. and emma remains her usual role as their wife. and similar to other worlds, she was their neighbor growing up, and they were friends from a young age before ending up as partners and later on spouses.
I will also say that they're younger in this verse at the time of the war.
the boys being roughly 24/25 and emma being 21/22.
