i love the blog. i'm totally going to buy the merlin sweater alternative when i get the chance. just curious, i wanted to know if you might be doing eggsy's street clothes alternatives? since i know it's not technically kingsman attire.

Thank you! We can look into Eggsy’s more casual attire for you, it will probably be easier to find affordable polo shirts and bomber jackets rather than suits and tailoring!

Merlin’s Field Jacket

It’s important to be suitably dressed when training potential Kingsman agents in the British countryside, and this field jacket should keep one protected from whatever the weather (or a recruit) might throw.

Kingsman | 11 Savile Row London W1S 3PS

When: Founded in 1849. Originally based on Albermarle Street then Bond Street before taking up residence at 11 Savile Row in 1919.

House Specialities: Kingsman produces its own house tweeds, woven on Islay at the oldest working mill in Britain (1550).

How long it takes: Upwards of 80 hours for a bespoke suit. Expect three to four fittings. It can be done quicker “within reason and if the timings are right”

Best tip for buying a bespoke suit: For those who travel a lot, particularly to warmer climes, a high-twist cloth is a good bet. This springs back well and creases a little less. Wear appropriate shoes and shirt for a fitting - this will give you a better idea of how your finished suit will look as well as assisting in establishing correct sleeve and trouser length - and relax. Standing like a soldier will not help - unless you are a soldier.

The one other thing you need to know: Unusually, Kingsman is also open on Saturdays.

The Shirt

A crisp white shirt with double cuffs is an integral part of a Kingsman agent’s formal wardrobe.

Fit is paramount! Go and try on the shirt in the shop rather than ordering online whenever possible.

Make sure to go with at least a semi-spread collar on the shirt (i.e. no short point collars) - there won’t be enough space for the Windsor knot of the tie otherwise. Also avoid button-down collars and chest pockets as they are inherently informal.

Hello. Love the blog! Have you considered finding alternatives for the female Kingsman? When you get to posting about the suits and shirts and whatnot, I'd love to see some alternatives which are cut for ladies. And women's sizes in shoes too!

Thank you! As mentioned earlier, we are absolutely planning to look into alternatives for Roxy’s outfits. We’ve also included a women’s shirt in the shirt post going up tomorrow, and the ASOS shoes from the Oxfords post start at UK size 3! 

Unfortunately finding wardrobe alternatives from womenswear and unisex collections that are both close to the original and affordable is proving to be more difficult than we anticipated (especially the suit). One of our key aims when making this blog was not just to post items for slim men, but to try and encompass all genders and body types. As we move on from accessories and into clothing, we are committed to being as inclusive as possible, and if any of our followers can help us by submitting finds we would be extremely grateful!
