Beeeeeeautiful!!!
Eat local and support local farmers as much as you can. Cilantro and lettuce was purchased at the Pearl Farmers Market this weekend. Look at the size of that thing! It dwarfs my thumb in the 1st pic. Ingredients yield 28oz. 1 leafy head of lettuce 1 lemon 2 honey crisp apples 4 cilantro sprigs
Tangelos are only $.98/lb right now, and fresh squeezed orange juice is one of my most favorite things in the world. 7.5lbs created 60oz of juice.
Pure veggies. It's surprisingly crisp and light. I suppose you could add a bit more on the celery/cucumber end to make it a bit lighter. Ingredients yield 18 oz. 1 pint cherry tomatoes 1 cucumber 1/2 bushel of spinach 4 celery stalks
Halfway through chopping all the ingredients, I realized I didnāt take any photos of the actual ingredients. Here is the outcome though. A light peachy colored juice.
Ingredients yield 30 oz.
1 pineapple 1 cucumber 1/2 pint strawberries 2 small Granny Smith apples
I LOVE when citrus is in season!!!
Prepping my body for an upcoming juice cleanse. Trying to focus on hearty, minimally processed foods. For breakfast today: steel cut oatmeal, fresh organic strawberries, whole organic almonds, and a little bit of honey.
I was wondering what brand of soil you use for wheatgrass? Thanks
I actually don't grow my own wheatgrass. I purchase it organically at places like central market and sprouts here in San Antonio. I am growing Swiss chard, pineapple and kale in my backyard and use a mix of dirt from my backyard and a compost heap I've been tending to for the past 3 years. So far so good :)

Such a great morning juice. So simple and yields a lot of juice. Ingredients yield 30 oz. 1 pineapple 7-ish celery stalks
It's a bit bitter but not really. The juice goes down better than it smells. An easy way to remedy that is to cut back on the kale and perhaps add either an apple or beet. Anyhow, ingredients yield 26oz. 1 gala apple 1 red Bartlett pear 1 grapefruit 2 candy cane beets 1 bushel of kale (approx. 8 kale leafs)
Tasty greens. Ingredients yield 30oz. 1 lemon 1 head of leafy lettuce 1 cu. in. ginger 1 parsnip 2 celery stalks 3 Granny Smith apples
Had a day off today so I was able to go by River City Produce and pick up some of their amazing fruit/veggie packs for this weekās juicing. About 90% of whatās in these two packs are organic, the others fall within the āclean 15ā category.
Hereās what we got: Pineapple, apples, pears, carrots, brussel sprouts, kale, lettuce, ginger, grapefruit, parsnips, onions, potatoes, lemons, broccoli, and beets.
Each pack is a bit different and all in all, these two combined add up to 40lbs of fruits and veggies for $49.50. That comes out to $1.25 a pound⦠Not a bad deal for mostly organic food. Definitely enough for me and my husband for the coming week⦠Itās gonna be a good week.
It's fall and cranberries are abundant at the grocery store. This one was just the right balance of sweet an tart. Ingredients yield 28 oz. 1/2 lb. whole cranberries 1 Fuji apple 2 Granny Smith apples 8 spinach clusters
