Do not try to be pretty. You werenât meant to be pretty; you were meant to burn down the earth and graffiti the sky. Donât let anyone ever simplify you to just âpretty.â

Places where reality is a bit altered:
âą any target âą churches in texas âą abandoned 7/11âs âą your bedroom at 5 am âą hospitals at midnight âą warehouses that smell like dust âą lighthouses with lights that donât work anymore âą empty parking lots âą ponds and lakes in suburban neighborhoods âą rooftops in the early morning âą inside a dark cabinet
playgrounds at night
rest stops on highways

I just got the weirdest feeling I swear
What if allowing Trump to run for president is actually a tactic to discover who all the racist, gross, and idiotic Americans are so they can ship them off to some remote island and replace them all with refugees who are better people and are much more deserving.
itâs okÂ

everybody is all â I support people with mental illnessesâ until these people start showing symptoms lmao
to elaborate, yeah people will understand the basic symptoms such as sadness and or being nervous but once someone starts having random fits of rage, inconsolable panic attacks, no energy or motivation to do shit, hallucinations, paranoia, mood swings, etc. everybody is suddenly like âwoah what the fuck just stopâŠâ

When [an abusive man] tells me that he became abusive because he lost control of himself, I ask him why he didnât do something even worse. For example, I might say, âYou called her a fucking whore, you grabbed the phone out of her hand and whipped it across the room, and then you gave her a shove and she fell down. There she was at your feet where it would have been easy to kick her in the head. Now, you have just finished telling me that you were âtotally out of controlâ at that time, but you didnât kick her. What stopped you?â And the client can always give me a reason. Here are some common explanations: âI wouldnât want to cause her a serious injury.â âI realized one of the children was watching.â âI was afraid someone would call the police.â âI could kill her if I did that.â âThe fight was getting loud, and I was afraid the neighbors would hear.â And the most frequent response of all: âJesus, I wouldnât do that. I would never do something like that to her.â The response that I almost never heard â I remember hearing it twice in the fifteen years â was: âI donât know.â These ready answers strip the cover off of my clientsâ loss of control excuse. While a man is on an abusive rampage, verbally or physically, his mind maintains awareness of a number of questions: âAm I doing something that other people could find out about, so it could make me look bad? Am I doing anything that could get me in legal trouble? Could I get hurt myself? Am I doing anything that I myself consider too cruel, gross, or violent?â A critical insight seeped into me from working with my first few dozen clients: An abuser almost never does anything that he himself considers morally unacceptable. He may hide what he does because he thinks other people would disagree with it, but he feels justified inside. I canât remember a client ever having said to me: âThereâs no way I can defend what I did. It was just totally wrong.â He invariably has a reason that he considers good enough. In short, an abuserâs core problem is that he has a distorted sense of right and wrong. I sometimes ask my clients the following question: âHow many of you have ever felt angry enough at youer mother to get the urge to call her a bitch?â Typically half or more of the group members raise their hands. Then I ask, âHow many of you have ever acted on that urge?â All the hands fly down, and the men cast appalled gazes on me, as if I had just asked whether they sell drugs outside elementary schools. So then I ask, âWell, why havenât you?â The same answer shoots out from the men each time I do this exercise: âBut you canât treat your mother like that, no matter how angry you are! You just donât do that!â The unspoken remainder of this statement, which we can fill in for my clients, is: âBut you can treat your wife or girlfriend like that, as long as you have a good enough reason. Thatâs different.â In other words, the abuserâs problem lies above all in his belief that controlling or abusing his female partner is justifiableâŠ.
