Harley Quinn in Birds of Prey: And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn (2020)
top 5 people you'd strangle?
“Five seems like an awful lot of people to have grievances with– can I strangle Cliff five times?”
@cliff-kincaid
[text]: I’m sorry I asked to make out with you last night (from Nora!)
Text: You don’t have to apologize
charliexhawkins:
txt: it took every ounce of self control i had not to, so yeah
[[text]]: i work the graveyard shift tonight but
[[text]]: would you want to come over tomorrow night?
[text]: I’m sorry I asked to make out with you last night (from Nora!)
Text: You don’t have to apologize
[[Text]]: If I wasn’t so drunk, would you have?
112-116
112:Does someone like you currently?
“I’m not sure, you’d have to ask them.”
113:Do you currently have feelings for anyone?
“Possibly– he already knows this and loves to hold it over my head.”
114:Do you like to be in serious relationships or just flings?
“It’s nice to have something short and sweet. But when it comes down to it, I’d like to know I’m in it for the long run now.”
115:Ever made out with just a friend?
“Just a friend? I don’t believe I have.”
116:Are you happier single or in a relationship?
“I’ve been single far longer than I’ve been in a relationship, so I’d have to say single.”
axelgvrcia·:
“I’m hurt,” Axel replied. “I can’t believe you were using me this whole time.” Axel had approximately 3 whole friends in the world, and two of them were teetering on thin ice—Nora was the one he leaned on the most, while other people tended to lean on him. It was nice, for a change, to have someone asking him how he was doing instead of him always taking care of others. It wasn’t that he minded being a support for people—it was that sometimes, he needed some support as well.
Charlie was someone Axel had mixed feelings about, and finding out that the one friend he had at work was dating him was certainly not something he had been expecting (nor something he entirely approved of, not that it was his position to give approval over Nora’s life). He had been in a bad place then—worse than he was doing now—and he hadn’t handled things well. Nora had been patient with that, been patient with him.
“Apparently not,” he said, ordering a coffee for himself as he sat down and leaned back in his seat. “I can’t wait for it to blow up. Things have been boring at the hospital lately.”
“Oh, I’m sorry, baby.” Nora faked a pout before laughing at him. She was thankful for the friendships she gained after breaking from the Disciples. For a moment after her split with Charlie, Nora thought she’d be alone with both the Disciples and most of Charming’s citizen feeling sketchy around her. Axel was the first person that Nora made up with, and eventually there were more to follow.
Nora’s eyes rolled, “You are an awful person for that.” She shook her head. She definitely did not thrive off office drama as much as Axel seemed too, but she didn’t mind being aware of what was going on behind the scenes. “Well, I’m sure one of those fights will go wrong and we’ll have a whole swarm of drunk, angry people in here in no time.” Nora mused. It’d been a while, something like that was bound to happen any time now.
charliexhawkins·:
Charlie bit his lip and shook his head. “I thought I gave those back to you…but it seems like I’m always finding things even now.” He nodded at her holding on; it was safer after all. “Yeah….like old times…” He turned the key and the engine roared to life. Absentmindedly, he held his hand over hers for a moment like he used to. Preparing for a turn, he brought his hand back to his handlebar. Living in a small town had its perks - they were at his house rather quickly. He parked outside and offered his hand to keep her stable as she got off the bike. The home was small, but cozy and well lived in. He didn’t come from a wealthy family, but with the help of his parents, he was able to buy the small two-bedroom well over a decade ago when it was really cheap. Helped that it was from a family friend who was leaving town and gave them a deal. “You can try looking for your shorts. I’ll grab you a shirt and some sweats just in case. Feel free to shower if you need it.”
“I think I left some in a corner the last time I was there..” Nora admitted. Her and Charlie were on and off since the break up. Nora found herself back in his arms and not too long after, they’d go about like it never happened. They were in one of their off stages now, and Nora still couldn’t shake how she felt about him. Not even after two years of somewhat being apart. Nora took his help to get off the bike, when they got inside she smiled from the familiarity of it all. When she moved to Charming, most of their time was spent here since her own place really on had the bare essentials. Now though, she had much more time to decorate and make it feel like home. “Thanks-- uh, I’ll put these in the washer.” Nora headed towards the laundry room, digging a pair of shorts out from behind the door before changing. She threw her stained pants in the machine, waiting for Charlie to give her a shirt before she threw her messy one in with her pants. “Thanks again for helping me out... I really just wanted to enjoy some good food. You wouldn’t believe the week I’ve been having..” She sighed.

rafael knew that it would be strange for nora to see him. after all they only knew of one another because of her affliation with the club. she used to come visit him when her boyfriend was unable to do. he had appreciated it even if they hadn’t known each other all that well. after all he had broken things off with samantha when he had gone in. he was just surprised to run into her again so soon after he was released. they had the strangest relationship as far as he was concerned.
“it’s fine,” he said quickly, watching as she wiped off the rest of the milkshake. he was confused by how she was acting but he knew he wasn’t his normal self. all he did was shrug when she told him what he suspected,“ it doesn’t matter.” he knew that it was likely she was viewed as an outsider. he rolled his eyes at her words about he didn’t have to be nice to her,“ i’m not going to be cruel because you aren’t with us anymore.” his weight shifted a bit and he went to take another sip of his coffee. only to look back at her at the question,“ earlier this week, good behavior or some shit.” he was sighing as he head on his arm,“ it’s so strange to be back.”
“i’m sorry-- i’ve just met some fairly unkind people since those days.” nora took care of them and it wasn’t easy for her to leave. she understood why they were mad at first but to hold a grudge for so long? it was beyond her, but she knew about holding onto pain. she was still holding on to her and charlie’s break up. nora heard about samantha and raf through the gang, she felt sad for him and offered to listen to whatever he was thinking about.
“well, i’m very glad to see you out-- and i’m sure they all are too. they really missed you and i’m sure that hasn’t changed since i’ve been away.” nora nodded. she began to ease up with him, clearly he wasn’t still mad or frustrated with her like some of the others were. “what’s the strangest thing you’ve seen since you’ve been here?” nora asked, offering a kind smile.
benjimiller·:
they’d been friends. or so he’d thought, until she had decided the club life wasn’t for her and stopped helping the devil’s disciples off the books. when nora had pulled back from the club, ben had been hurt although they were only friends. nora’s venomous words, caused him to roll his eyes. although they’d taught her to defend herself, he seriously doubted she could take him on. “it’s none of your concern” he nearly spat the words in her direction, before shaking his head. “fuck this — what i need is another shot, not a doctor”
“you’re in the hospital, benji, i’ll see you here.” she had a firm rule against disciples showing up late at her home, it just wasn’t appropriate. the hospital was fair, and she’d treat them to the best of her ability whether or not they wanted her to. “please, just come and sit down benji. i really don’t want to call security on someone tonight.” nora was alarmed to see him like this. she knew he was hurt after she left, but nora couldn’t be apart of that life anymore. “please just come and sit with me.” she gestured towards one of the private rooms in the back.”
azulevangelista·:
“Nora.” The woman deadpanned, giving the other a pointed look, her hands firmly on her hips. “Don’t bullshit me.” She playfully rolled her eyes, rocking on the spikes of her 6 inch heels. “You look hot as ever in bright colors, you’re just scared of them.” Azul called her out, fingers reaching out to pull at the cloth that was neatly packed in the bag. “It’s the red playsuit I wore when we hosted the job fair.”
“I am going to look like a tragic stop sign-- you look way better in these things than I do..” Nora complained as she got up to escape to the bathroom and change. She hadn’t taken risks with her wardrobe in a very long time. However her risks back then were more like lower cut tops and short dresses. Nora preferred dark clothing because she liked to blend in. After changing, she came out in the red playsuit and sat back down across Azul, “Thank you for lending me your clothes...” She spoke, apologizing for having complained so much.
The Gillenkerk family agreed that one night a week, they wouldn’t cook dinner at home. Instead, they would support one of the local restaurants or take a trip to a drive thru. Tonight? Tacos were on their agenda. Aurora had volunteered to take her and the kiddos out on a drive to get food. So, she rounded up all three girls, making sure they were all secured in the car before she drove off. Hoping for a stress free and relaxing late night drive, Aurora would face quite the opposite. While making a turn and trying to dodge a pot hole in the road, she accidentally drove through it and heard a thud a few moments later.
The girl was trying to make a turn and while trying to dodge a pot hole in the road, drove through it and she could hear a thud a few moments later. Trying to pull towards the side of the road, the giant, red mom van stopped at a hult. “Stay inside Ren!” she told her sister, who was ten, as she got out of her car to inspect the scene.
“Shit, that is as flat as a pancake,” she muttered out with a sigh, running a hand through her hair as she observed the extremely flat tire. Sure, Clifford needed new tires, but the oldest Gillenkerk just gave one of them an early demise.
( @charmingstarter )
For once, Nora managed to finish all her office work before 7pm. She didn’t have any patients left for the day, and figured she could go out for some dinner to eat before going on call for the rest of the night. While she was driving towards the infamous Charming taco stand, Nora noticed a van with a popped tire, and the arms of a child wiggling out the window of the back seat.
She pulled over and got out of her car, waving politely at the young girl who was inspecting her own flat. “Hi-- I’m Nora, I’m a doctor at Charming General.. I was just driving by, need a little help?” She offered kindly before waving at the little girls in the backseat. “I think I still have my spare in the back of my truck, we could see if it’s a fit?” Nora needed to remember to call her dad and thank him for teaching her how to change a tire.
You too.

“Mothers always seem to know best, don’t they.” He muttered. “Anyway, I’m pretty sure that’s a normal thing, eye strain from screens or whatever.” He awkwardly looked around, unsure of what to say next as she finished wiping what she could. “Did it get on your pants too? I don’t have any sweats you could throw on at the garage.” He stepped back so she could get out of the booth. Charlie grabbed his helmet from where he had been sitting and began to walk towards the door. Food would have to wait. As they got to his bike, he pulled a second helmet out from the saddle bag. Long ago, he’d gifted Nora her very own. This one was just plain and unassuming; kept in case he ever had a passenger. “Hop on.” He handed her the helmet and secured his own before straddling his motorcycle and turning it on.
“Mine likes to think she does-- then actually ends up knowing better.” Nora admitted. She let out a small frustrated sigh, “You still keep my shorts in a basket in your laundry room at home? I think that’s my best bet at this point. I’d really like to get out of this mess.” Nora threw away her mountain of dirty napkins before following Charlie out, tightly holding onto her work bag as she straddled the bike and put on her helmet. “May I?” She asked cautiously before she went and wrapped her arms around his waist to hold on. Nora hadn’t been on a bike since before they broke up-- whenever they saw each other after the break up, it’d always been Nora coming to him in her car. “Like old times, right?” She tried to lighten the mood.
charliexhawkins·:
Charlie was sitting at the counter about to order when he heard the reaction of the woman in a booth nearby. His head turned and as he began to approach with his own handful of napkins, he realized he knew that voice. Handing over the stack, he couldn’t help but chuckle. “Last time I saw you covered in chocolate, it was a very different sight.” Some how time moved different around her. Their two years together felt like much longer. The two years since they broke up felt like no time at all when he smiled, but like a decade had passed when his heart ached.
“You didn’t get it on your papers, did you?” He said, genuinely concerned. He knew how much her work meant to her. “If you’ve got time, we can shoot over to my place and get that washed before the stain sets.” He paused. “Orrr…..if that’s, if that’s too…you know….we can just go to the garage. I keep extra shirts in my locker….but uh, you know that already…”
Part of the reason Nora’s hand slipped and sent her dinner flying was when she saw Charlie waltz in and sit at the counter. She was sitting in the same booth they’d notoriously collapse in after some late night shenanigans. Not by choice-- it was sadly the only booth open which was why Nora tried to distract herself with work while she waited for a friend. When Charlie approached, Nora let out a nervous laugh as she tucked her hair behind her ear. “Uh-- yeah.” Blush rose in her cheeks as she wiped up what she could. Her heart hurt when she saw him... some nights she still wanted him to hold her as they fell asleep.
“No-- no, those are fine. Uh, I really should be using my tablet but my eyes hurt whenever I use that thing. Guess after all my mother’s nagging about me getting my eyes checked actually meant something.” She spoke quickly as she started to gather her things. “I don’t have to go back to work tonight... so uh, we could stop at the garage. I can have them back in the morning after I get these washed.”

gravesrafael·:
his mind truly felt like it was a jumbled mess. he was still trying to make sense of the fact that he was no longer caged like some kind of animal. instead he was back in charming, back with the disciples where he belonged. he wasn’t even thinking when he went to hand her the wet rag. she seemed to be dodging his question and his eyes narrowed somewhat. it was becoming clear that he knew her as she dabbed at her shirt.
when she was going to hand the rag back to the cashier he was shifting to face her more. that was when it clicked that it was nora and she seemed nervous. his hand was reaching to gently rest on her arm,“ nora, i’m not-i’m not-it’s fine okay?” he knew that she was no longer affliated with the disciples,“ por favor, stay.” he wasn’t even sure why he was asking her to since she was so uncomfortable. of course so was he but for completely different reasons.
Nora only remembered Raf through visitations at the prison-- he was a sweet guy, the entire gang seemed to be really affected when he got locked up. Being as empathetic as she was, Nora felt sorry for him and all he had to go through. Walking up to the counter though, she didn’t expect him to remember her much. She only spoke to him a couple times when she needed to visit since her ex couldn’t make it himself. Nora felt close to him but so distant at the very same time.
“I’m sorry...” Nora shook her head, finishing wiping off her clothes before she looked at him, a small frown tugging at her lips. “I haven’t been with the Disciples for two years, Raf, you don’t need to be nice to me anymore.” She knew it probably wasn’t in him to be rude to her-- but after some of the treatment she got for leaving, Nora was plenty prepared for it. “When did you get out?” She couldn’t help but ask. She was relieved that he finally was.
dianaknowles·:
Nora and Diana had a complicated friendship. Could one even deem it a friendship? She wasn’t sure, but it was complicated nonetheless. Once seemingly cruel to one another, frenemies at best, they were once spewing harsh sentiments towards each other. It was a given, really, considering they were once on opposite sides of the spectrum. Diana with the Wolves, Nora with the Devil’s. While Diana was still flush within that world, Nora seems to have backtracked. Her life was different now, a perfectly quaffed hairstyle away from seeming perfectly mundane. In a way, it did suit her. Though Diana can’t help but grow curious. Was she satisfied with her new life?
“You clean up nice,” Diana says as a greeting, brown eyes soon casting downward at the mess on her lap. She can only grimace, her face scrunching a tad. Diana was nothing but outwardly put together. Or perhaps put together in the Charming sense. Which translated loosely to rich, selectively kind, and a tad hostile.
“Oh, Nora, don’t let anyone see you like this.” She says, maybe a little too dramatically, moving to grab a stack of napkins. She begins cleaning up around Nora and within her lap before speaking again, “Come on, I’ll buy you a new outfit. This just won’t do.” Diana’s lackluster attempt at kindness. Even if she were once cruel to Nora, her words were sincere. She wanted to try. She wanted to be her friend, to offer her kindness and a soft place to land.
Nora was still brand new to charming when she got involved with the Disciples. She didn’t quite understand the hatred towards her or the gang at first, but once her relationship went downhill-- it was easy to understand. One person who she never would’ve guessed to take pity on her after it all was Diana. Nora was pretty sure they’d remain at each other’s throats for life. However it brought Nora a sense of calm once the girls started acting civil. She’d never admit it, but she was thankful most of all for Diana’s friendship with her. Nora didn’t think she’d last at the mercy of her former friends without Diana.
“You wouldn’t believe the day I’ve had...” Nora shook her head, feeling completely helpless as she stared down at the mess in her lap. She tried cleaning it up as best she could, but whatever she did wouldn’t make the chocolate stains go away. “No-- no, I can’t let you do that. I should really go home anyway.. I was meeting a co-worker but it looks like he’s stuck at work.” Nora frowned as she tried to sort away her paperwork.
