I honestly thought it was going to work. Maybe not this month, maybe not even this year, but I never stopped having hope. I hoped for a season three or a movie; I hoped for a panel at DragonCon and thousands of fans singing Fleetwood Mac as the moderator waited to introduce David; I hoped for cosplayers in the parade, and long late nights giggling until we were crying. I hoped to find folx in New England who want to go to pirate museums and speculate about the next episode. I hoped.

I still hope, tbh. I hope that the next time a queer show gets a chance it doesn't get the carpet pulled out from under its feet. I hope the next time queer actors get amazing roles they get recognized for them (I am looking at Con right now - not an Izzy apologist, but Con's work is award worthy). I hope we made a difference. I hope I made a difference, made a young person, a shy person, a lurker feel supported and heard and part of something. I know ya'll did that for me.
