a quick list of books to read if you are a marauders fan and why (some of these are obvious and some are less so):
~If We Were Villains M.L. Rio, general dark academia vibes, found family, devastation, gayness
~The Heirs Faridah Àbíké-Íyímídé, more dark academia vibes, very much gives the vibes of the marauders being geniuses, reminds me of the marauders being a family who broke apart and are now recovering the past
~The Feeling of Falling in Love Mason Deaver, it’s literally an enemies to lovers roommate situation at a preppy boarding school, what more can I say
~Don’t Let the Forest In CG Drews, besides this simply being one of the most haunting and beautiful peices of literature ever, it is SO ROSEKILLER, literally their exact vibe
~A Prince Among Pirates Katie Abdou, nobody can convince me this is not a fic I’m sorry, also it literally has a character named REGULUS, despite that, it actually feels more like a Wolfstar book to me and the character named regulus fives Remus vibes, and Kit gives Sirius (if you need anymore incentive to read this book he literally calls him KITTEN, which would normally make me barf but it’s cute in this book)
~Darkhearts James L. Sutter, marauders fame AU? Yes please. That’s all there is to be said
~If This Gets Out Cale Dietrich and Sophie Gonzales, admittedly, I did read this at first when I was going through a major Larry phase, BUT I have read it many times since, and it’s basically like if the marauders and 1D had a baby
~6 Times We Almost Kissed (And One Time We Did) Tess Sharpe, look, people might disagree with this one but I love dorlene enemies to lovers and this gives that vibe
~Frankenstein Mary Shelley, look, I feel like this is required reading for marauders fans, if you’re not into classics, still try it, you’ll see. Remus, Regulus, and Evan have a book club specifically dedicated to Frankenstein and it is their favorite book (coincidentally mine too)
so! This might have devolved a bit to a queer required reading list (though that list would have many more books) but I tried to stick to ones which have found family tropes, dark academia vibes, or feel like marauders AUs. I hope someone finds this helpful, and if anyone else has more suggestions pleek let me know, I’m always looking for more marauders-y books.
