100 picspams challenge ;; bonnie bennett v2 [40/100]
“Seems to be common around here,” Diana said with a little laugh. “The common cold is relatively non-existent.”
Clearly, Diana could tell by the herbs, the young woman in front of her was a witch too, or something of the sort. “We appreciate it,” she smiled. “I grow a lot of herbs here myself, but it’s always nice to have extra. Especially on days like today. Thanks.”
A small grin peaked through Bonnie’s lips at the other girl’s observation. “Yeah, funny how that works out.”
“Which is what makes me believe you’re making a great Healer. Herbs get neglected so often, it’s good to see that someone else knows it’s worth,” Bonnie offered a warm smile in return, “--anytime.”
She turned his way as he adjusted himself onto the top of the balcony. He sat comfortably, kicking his legs a bit like a child. His hands pressed against the cold concrete, tapping his index finger tediously against the rock.
“I think there’s a lot more making this hell besides your everlasting banter, but,” he rambled on before raising the bottle next to him up to his lips. Damon was wise enough to know that having Elena’s other best friend around wouldn’t result in anything more than blame. “I definitely won’t allow you to think you don’t add to it though. You sure as hell are going to make this pretty hellish.”
Yep, the same old Damon she remembered -- yet somehow..different. She watched as he sat on the ledge of the balcony; childlike in nature, which only confirmed her feeling.
She hummed in agreement, knowing he was right. Surprisingly enough, there were worse things out there than having a conversation with Damon, not that she’d ever admit that aloud. “I’m so glad you feel the same -- now that we’ve established that,”, Bonnie paused to take a step forward and grabbed the bottle out of Damon’s hands. “--how about we compare notes on this whole hell dimension thing?” she offered, before she took a sip of the burning liquor herself.
Excuse my lack of activity, it was my birthday yesterday (or today, for those of y’all living in the past!!), June 1st, is the date -- and I decided to sleep all the way through it, after I got back from work that is, as a present to myself. I shall get to replies tomorrow, as Bonnie is not cooperating with me right now, haha. Have a great night everyone!
@druidbennett
The Descendant ball was much like others Kol had attended in the past. Black tie, classy, elegant, no room for shenanigans, and flowing with an abundance of champagne as well as beautiful women to feast his eyes upon. For Kol though, this evening would not be all play. He had some very important business that he needed to attend to concerning a client. In this case, an enchanted music box known as the Gilbert device. He wasn’t quite sure the client’s reasons for wanting such a thing, as it was a one time use only, but most rich people around here were collectors of various rare and expensive things. It was likely to end up on display in a cabinet somewhere.
Grabbing another glass of champagne off a serving tray, Kol scans the crowd for the one girl he knew could narrow his search. He had done his homework, all signs pointed to Bonnie Bennett. It would be a bit of a challenge convincing her to lend a hand, but he always fancied a good challenge. Spotting her a short distance across the room, he grabs a second glass from the tray and starts making his way through the crowd toward her. “We meet again, little witch,” he greets her with that infamous smirk of his. “You’re looking quite lovely this evening. A goddess among men, if you don’t mind my saying so,” he compliments, working his charm as he extends the second glass to her in offering.
She’d finished small samples of delicatessen a while ago, but only just now had a chance to put it on a tray held by a passing server. She had to admit, this whole swanky affair was put together quite nicely. It had an elegance and grandeur that even surpassed the balls held in Mystic Falls. She stood on the edges of the floor space reserved for couples swaying in time to orchestral music, looking every bit the wealthy royalty that they were. The last thing she could ever be expected to foresee, was a certain original vampire showing up.
She froze upon hearing the familiar devious smirk in the tone of his voice before talking a deep breath to recover her nerves. It’s not like he could hurt her; not now, not here. Bonnie was quick to brush aside his compliments, “--when am I going to be able to enjoy a celebration without you ruining it for me?,” she grimaced, glancing down at the glass he was offering wearily, before taking it. She took a sip of the champagne, continuing to watch the twirling figures, “cut the crap Kol, you obviously want something,” she began calmly, in an even tone. “I’ll save you the trouble -- the answer is no. So how about you go work your charms on a witch who’ll actually fall for your cheap lines,” she ended, malice laced in her words to display her contempt.
With a simple nod, Jake thought he was home free. More than that, he was pleased with himself because he’d only started picking pockets just recently. Normally, he was the snatch and run type, however a more subtle approach seemed to be a better method in this world. He wasn’t really sure what would happen to a con-artist witch with no coven or crew. At this point, he was very much a loner.
One more step, and he was being called out on his immoral deed. Now, he was faced with a decision: run or apologize? One last look into the wallet, fingering through the items better suited on earth, Jake sighed and turned back around with a shit-eating grin. “How do you know what I’m looking for? Maybe I just need a new wallet.”A small simper played at the corners of his pale lips. “It’s always a riskier job when it’s a woman, I’ve learned. Tighter jeans, and all.” Jake sucked on his bottom lip as he slowly moved forward and extended to her, the wallet.
She stood in wait as the boy stopped in his tracks and she fleetingly wondered if he would actually attempt to make a run for it. This was a hell dimension after all -- and although is was a fairly civilised community, thieves weren’t exactly uncommon. He grinned at her and for some reason it made her feel like an innocent in one of those children’s stories, coming across a duplicitous character in the middle of the woods.
In this case, it was a public area and this mysterious strangers was hardly a threat, from what she saw, but her instincts told her to be cautious anyway. She didn’t need powers to know that he was trouble. “I doubt you’d pick my pocket for old receipts and pictures of people you don’t know”, Bonnie pointed out, her lips perking up on one side. She couldn’t help but scoff in an almost-laugh at that, “I don’t take you as a ‘women’s purse’ kind of guy, but I guess you can never tell with these things.” Her eyebrows raised of their own accord at his next comment, but otherwise only simply noted, “I’d like to think it’s because we’re a lot less easier to dupe -- but the tighter clothing helps too, I guess,” she shrugged, accepting the wallet back.
He had positioned himself, leaning over the balcony. For a moment, he looked down below at what had become his new home, yet he didn’t absolutely hate it. Though, this didn’t stop the undying quest to find a way out. If the route home wasn’t for him, it was for a second chance that Stefan deserved. Taking a deep breath, he turned around, leaning his elbows against the railing.
“What fun would that be, Bon-Bon,” he rolled his shoulders back, his hand quickly grabbing the bottle of the ledge and leading it to his mouth. “I thought an eternity of banter was our thing?”
He finally turned around and it was the first time she saw a face she recognised from her old life; from home. She’d been struggling against the current for so long, refusing to accept that her life in he Dark Dimension was permanent; determined to escape, if only to find peace and not return to her friends. She would rather that, than whatever afterlife this hell dimension offered.
Bonnie exhaled from her nose in a sardonic brief laughter, of sorts. “Fun? That’s not exactly what I’d call it. You know now that we’re stuck here, it would literally be for an eternity. I think that makes this place officially hell.”
I’m laughing so hard at this gossip blog y’all, I can’t with dish to the bish.
I’m sooo sorry I didn’t do any replies last night, I got back from work and was hella tired, I actually fell asleep on the subway. I shall be getting to them right now! If we haven’t plotted and you’d like to start something with Bonnie, don’t be afraid to message me, because I want all the plots with everyone. Like, gimme. Okay excuse me while I hit my activity for replies.
Care will always protect Bonnie <3 Their friendship is so important.
And there’s obviously no question Bonnie will do the same for Carebear. So important. <3
“Please tell me you’ve just got a cold or something?”
“I’ve dealt with enough weird stuff tonight.”
“Oh, no, nothing like that -- funnily enough, I hardly get sick.”
“I just had some left over..or spare herbs. They’re just basic stuff, but I didn’t want them to go to waste.”
Jake woke up wheezing and coughing up —what he thought wasblood, but when the hallucination wore off he was left cupping cleanhands below his mouth. The health concerns all started after he was kicked outof Marcel’s gang, ‘The Crown of Jewels.’ It was obvious Marcel did something tohim. He could have killed Jake but he let him live, but at what cost? He waslosing his mind and no closer to finding his brother Nick, whom he believed tobe lost somewhere in the City of Darkness.
On the edge of losing his penthouse, Jake went out to score some extra money after having taken too many days off at the construction site.It didn’t help his mood that everyone seemed stoked about this Descendant Ball, thing. Pulling up his hoodie to hide the dark circles forming around his eyes,Jake stuffed his hands into the pockets of his hoodie. Not watching where he was going, he shouldered into someone and spun around, hiding their picked wallet behind his back. “Oh, sorry about that. Didn’t get my coffee yet.” Turning back around, away from the person, Jake flipped their wallet open and read the name on the expired ID that clearly wasn’t produced from this world. A clear keepsake.
Bonnie strolled through the Kelemen Quarter, picking up her coffee for the morning before she headed to work. As strategic as it was, a part of her still enjoyed the fact she had to be cultured and informative for her job -- on the company’s dime no less. It offered her a tiny piece of normalcy and routine. Speaking of work, she was still relatively early for her shift; making good time, so she decided to take the long way and walk instead. She’d only just exited the cafe, having yet to face ahead as she was about to release the door, when a broad figure collided with hers.
The jolt almost spilled the contents of her beverage if it weren’t for her reflexive instincts to hold out her arm. Bonnie had faced forward by this point, but for a moment she wasn’t in front of the stranger at all. Whenever she physically touched someone for the first time, she seemed to get these flashes of memory; a feeling off of them. Coming to, she answered with a shake of her head, “that’s okay, I clearly wasn’t watching where I was going either..” She made a half-turn towards the stranger, who was already starting to head off in the other direction and smiled in a way that didn’t reflect any humor, “--but I would like my wallet back. That one doesn’t have anything in it of worth anyway. At least not the kind you’re looking for.”
Even though the ring of annoyance still sat in his voice, there was a small sensation of relief as he turned to the familiar tone. If anyone in the entire existence could find a way out of this city, it would be Bonnie Bennett. Though she wasn’t his strongest ally, she was far smarter than the lot that had fallen from Mystic Falls (or so his hope led him to believe). With a sigh of relief, he let his brow arch with the words coming from his lips.
“I’d like to think that I’ve met the quota for today,” his hand raised the bottle in his hand her way before cocking it back. Damon hadn’t quite met her gaze, attempting to ignore the friendly face with his own burdens of attitude. “But, by the looks of it, you’re not even going to give a damn if I did. So no, Damon Salvatore is still feelingless.”
Granted, he wasn’t exactly the first person she wanted to see out of their Mystic Falls gang, but he was a familiar face all the same; somewhat of an ally and as crooked as he was, at least she knew him well enough to predict his motives. Bonnie pressed her lips together and shook her head once, slowly, “maybe for you, but I’m pretty sure other people have a lot more in them to give”, she informed, speaking from experience.
Funny, how things had changed. Bonnie unfolded her arms and took a few steps forward, still out of Damon’s view. “I don’t know..maybe I might be curious to see what that looked like. Maybe,” she offered with a shrug of her shoulders, a hint of sincerity under her usual snark.

The night had been anything but spectacular. There were very few leads on any information that he found interesting at this point, and the fair share of familiar faces had a bit of a mood filling in between. He had been much happier trying to make it back to them, forgetting the actual pain in the asses they had been. Now, he stood out on the balcony to catch some air and to try to subdue the noise in his head, but yet again, he could not escape the familiar faces.
“If you plan on telling me about how terrible I really am, I’d really enjoy if you kept the comment to yourself until I’m up for that mess of banter.”
She couldn’t help it, as much as she’d sort of grown accustomed to rooting her feet in the thick of things, making sure not to miss the goings on at functions such as these -- her natural instinct took over. Putting down her empty flute, Bonnie had somehow wandered away from the crowd and found herself drawing closer to a balcony that was partitioned by a sheer curtain, initially concealing the fact that another being already occupied the space. As she drew nearer, she’d only just caught sight of the figure from behind, before a voice addressed her over the muffled sounds of instruments playing. Stepping past the curtain, Bonnie couldn’t prevent the smile that pulled at her lips. Damon.
“And here I thought yelling at me, was the better part of your day -- seeing how much you loved to do it. -- Honestly, you’d think you’d be used to people constantly telling you that, by now. What, don’t tell me you’ve suddenly grown feelings, now?”
